Cold night.

So I I knew we would have frost during the night and I could only hope it wouldn’t be too cold. It was -5,6C (21,92F) when I woke up and I thought it would drop a bit more since the sun was on its way to rise. It didn’t but I think that was cold enough. It will be one more cold night tonight before it turns towards warmer again.

There was no wind though so despite the low temperature we had a really nice walk as soon as the sun rose. The monster decided she would follow us this morning and she only complained once but it wasn’t because we were too far ahead, she looked back in to the forest and then rushed to our side. I guess it might have been a fox or perhaps wild hog walking in there. We didn’t see anything though.

I didn’t want to just go back home so we walked down to the creek again but the Monster decided that she’d rather stay where she was. Our hunters weren’t there but there were hunting dogs all around us barking like crazy and I heard the hunters shooting quite a lot so I guess it was wild hogs they were after. Thankfully there were no one hunting down by the creek either so no risk of either disturbing them or risking being shot 🙂 🙂

The cold morning did however make me looking at my winter jacket, one look was enough to decide that it was time to clean it 🙂 Most people living in the countryside (and in cities as well) wear signal yellow jackets during the winter with lots of reflecting surfaces on them. It’s so dark during winter that we need to be seen by traffic (or hunters hunting after dark), we wear them all the time except if we’re going to a fancy place of course, those times we don’t seem to care much about getting hit by a car, at least we died looking well dressed 🙂 🙂 🙂

We went back out to the forest and the bog later and just as we were on our way out on the peninsula the Monster joined us again 🙂 She had been there all day since she left us. There were a few moose flies in places where the sun warmed up the area but I managed to kill them all. I did hear a sound that I think was from a moose calf just nearby so we didn’t stay there for long, a protective moose cow is something one wants to avoid.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I still have some rice porridge so I might have that as well. After that I’ll most likely fall asleep in the recliner 🙂

Have a great day!
