A really nice day.

We have had a really nice day after a rather damp and chilly morning. It felt like it should be frost but it was all the humidity (98%) that made it feel so bad. That changed as soon as the sun rose and made life so much nicer.

The good thing with these cold mornings is that not even the moose flies wants to fly around but they did come when we went out in the afternoon, lots of them as well. I do really hate those nasties but I don’t panic any more when they decide that they want to target me 🙂 Alma and Malkolm are usually left alone but today there were so many that tried to dig down through their fur that I had to remove them from the dogs as well.

The Monster has followed us on walks this week and unfortunately she decided to do so today as well. I really don’t understand why because she was in a bad mood already from the start. She refused to walk with us, instead she walked behind us all the way. She walked very slowly and complained loudly all the time if she felt we walked too fast. She was also pretty annoyed about everything being wet. Especially when we had to pass a big puddle and there wasn’t an easy way to do it 🙂 🙂 She screamed like her tail was on fire until she finally had passed it 🙂 🙂 One could think that she would have liked to be helped but oh no, the Monster can do it her self 🙂 🙂 🙂

I always hope I’ll see something big, like a moose or red deer when I look down this and the next place but I never do.

Wild hogs loves the smell of tar and it looked like the Monster did as well.

I had hoped that we would be able to follow the creek down-stream but they had let out the cattle in the fields closest to the forest and blocked the way with the electric wires. No big problem if the cattle is elsewhere but they were on both sides of the gravel road and I really didn’t want lots of curious cattle close to me when I had to move those wires 🙂 🙂 I hope they have left the area already by tomorrow so we can walk beside the creek then instead.

It is time for a pot of tea. I had baked a crumble apple pie earlier today and I would have eaten it now if I hadn’t already eaten it 🙂 Instead I think I’ll have a sandwich or two with blue cheese, spotted sausage, sliced tomatoes and some slices of cheese on top of it all 🙂
