I slept so bad on the night towards Friday that I thought it would be a really tough day to go through. I went up the last time I woke up, at 3:27 am according to my mobile, and guess that I felt really surprised because I haven’ felt that relaxed in a long time 🙂 🙂 I have no idea how that could happen but I actually felt rather ok all day long. Last night I slept so well, only woke up at one time, and could have kept sleeping for a long time more but Alma kept running up and down the stairs at 4:15 am that I was pretty sure she was close to panic and really needed to go outside.

Well, turns out that she just wanted to run a few laps close to the fence around the garden 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m pretty sure she heard Doris the badger strolling around outside the door and that she desperately wanted to chase her away 🙂 🙂 No use in me trying to go back to sleep again so I baked a bread instead. I didn’t have any and I didn’t want to have granola as breakfast today. The sun was supposed to show early today so I had hopes it would shine while we were out walking, it didn’t. Instead it showed up an hour after we came back home and has stayed with us for the rest of the day.

Long grass doesn’t really dry up now when autumn has arrived and the grass in my garden has been too long for a too long time now. Personally I don’t mind if the grass keeps on growing but with all the wildlife walking around here during nights the risk of getting way too many ticks grows bigger. So when the sun finally showed I brought out the lawn mower and started to mow. Long and wet grass is also heavy so my electric mower had to use al its powers to mow it down. I still have the grass on the outside of the hedge to do but I thought that since we’ll get much the same weather tomorrow I’ll just do that part tomorrow instead.

Otherwise I’ve done very little today. I’ve placed a few more potted plants in the cool cellar and I’ve tried to pick the apples growing high up in the apple trees and with very little success 🙂 🙂 🙂 The trees are so high and wide that even if I used a ladder I still wouldn’t be able to reach them and I do have one of those telescope handles 🙂 🙂 🙂 The apples way up there are also much bigger than the ones that grew further down so I do feel a bit annoyed that I can’t pick them. Also, despite all the rain we’ve had lately I still needed to water some of the trees I’ve planted this year. Good thing that most of the water barrels now are full again 🙂

It is time to make that last cup of tea for the day, well I’ll make an entire pot and hope I don’t drink it all already tonight. To be honest I do feel rather tired so not even a pot will keep me awake tonight. Also I do hope that Alma doesn’t hear Doris the badger because it would be nice to sleep until at least five am tomorrow 🙂 It is already much colder than they say on the weather sites so at the moment it does feel like we’ll have another night with frost here. Not looking forward to it, then again the risk of getting caught by ticks will reduce to nothing 🙂
