Mushroom season.

I still can’t say much about my new job since I mostly help other people since some people are sick, still I can say I like the people in the factory though and that’s the important thing. I’m moving my back a lot all the time and that helps with the rheumatism in my spine, I feel better in my back than I have done in a long time.

The dogs and I went out for an afternoon walk when I came home after work. We went out to the bog and all the rain we’ve had lately have really brought out all the different kinds of mushrooms we have. Lots that I have no or very little idea about if they are edible or not but lots of my favourite mushroom as well. No Chanterelles though, if I want them I need to walk out on the bog to the smaller islands out there and it’s not worth it to be honest. Too many moose flies now and also too many ticks.

A really yummy mushroom. We have lots of them now.

We didn’t see any animals while being out but we did hear several run away from us. To be honest I didn’t even see any birds, I heard some geese that now is starting to move south. Lots of them stay in Southern Sweden and a few even here, at least as long as we have open water in the lakes and rivers.

Nice food mushroom.

Autumn has arrived and even if I think it’s a bit sad that winter will follow (and bad that the moose flies will pester us) I still think autumn is pretty nice. The smells are quite wonderful, especially after rain and there’s plenty of apples and rowan berries to make jam, apple sauce, or what ever one feel is worth making. If I don’t feel too lazy I think I’ll make some Rowan berry jam this weekend, as long as one remember to put in some honey in it it will taste fine, without honey it can be quite tart 🙂 🙂 Rowan berries should be picked after they’ve gone through two frost nights but that’s easy to fix, just put them in the freezer over night, thaw them during the day and freeze them again the next night.

Now days seen as slightly poisonous, almost no taste.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and after that I’ll see if there’s anything worth watching on tv.

Delicious.

Have a great day!
