Longing for that rain and cool weather to arrive.

It has been, for us Scandinavians, nasty hot here with temperatures around 33C (91,4F). Guess if I’m happy to be caring about the public pool in Floby every day 🙂 Today I decided I should sweep all the stairs in the pool and brush away all sand that the bathers had brought in with them when they decided to swim or play when it was as hottest. So I had to take off shoes, socks and trousers to do it 🙂 I had to be in there for at least half an hour and enjoyed every second of it 🙂

I would normally never look at a work e-mail when I’m not working but today I got my first one when it comes to this job. One of the higher up bosses warned about the heavy showers we might get tomorrow and apparently they’ll be so bad that they might create flooding. Thankfully I’m not one of those they’ll call if that happens so instead I’ll enjoy every bit of rain we might get 🙂 We actually had the first rain just a few minutes ago, very gentle and way too little to even help the ground damp 🙂 I do hope it’s a sign that more will come though.

Something has used my garden as a buffet lately, well I guess it’s a variety of animals. Birds have eaten the red currants, all of them. I guess it’s the badger, could be the fox though, that ate all my gooseberries and I’m pretty sure it’s a Roe deer that ate lots of flower buds the other night. It’s most likely the young buck that decided to have a nap in the garden in the middle of the day just before spring sprung. It is so dry here now that I forgive them because where else would they get any kind of liquid? Still they could have left some to me 🙂

The Monster is sleeping beside me on the slightly cooler floor, she sleeps so deep that for a while I wondered if she still was alive. Alma and Malkolm sleeps on the floor in the bedroom, can’t understand that because that room is now hot as an oven 🙂 🙂 I think it is time for that last cup of tea for the day (plus loads of water, I drink water all the time but still drink too little, my joints tells me that they need more. I’ll have some chocolate covered Hobnobs with that tea I think and might stay up much later than usual because my bedroom will be way too hot as it is now.

Iliamna remota, Kankakee mallow. I must have had it for well over 30 years now. Turns out that it now days is endangered, it thrives in my garden though.

Have a great day!

For the past few days, quite far south in Richmond, Virginia, we have had smoke from Canadian wildfires (and humid heat that feels like 100+F). It makes everything hazy. People said they could smell it, and I caught a whiff of it when I went out to get the mail. My sense of smell from having COVID in May is still mostly gone.

Our air quality is Code Purple, which is second worst it could be. The scale goes from low to high: Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Maroon.

I have to go out later today to visit my friend in memory care, but we’re also supposed to have storms today, which should wash away the smoke, at least for now.

Trump is talking about raising tariffs on Canada because of the smoke, like they can control where it goes. His stupidity is unfathomable. PM Carney should laugh in Trump’s face.

      Hi catsworking!

I’ve read about that and since You need to go outside use a breathing mask if You have one! It won’t stop all that smoke from getting in to Your lungs but it will stop a lot. I do hope You’ll get those showers so the smoke gets washed away.

I can only agree fully with You when it comes to trump 🙂 🙂 🙂
