Scandinavian hot again.

26C (78,8F) now in the afternoon and even though there’s a wind blowing it still feels a bit too warm. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to live in a place where this is a rather low temperature 🙂 🙂 🙂 The morning was nice though, 13C (55,4F) just as the sun went up above the trees in the forest.

No flies bothered us when we walked down to the creek even though they usually start flying around in even cooler temperatures. The Monster decided she would follow us and she was in a much better mood this morning, the Magpies have now bridged their younglings on food scavenges elsewhere 🙂 Still she was a bit annoyed at us when she thought we were walking a bit too fast 🙂

I was a bit disappointed when I couldn’t see any wildlife in the fields but we saw a couple different deer later on instead and since both Alma and Malkolm behaved pretty well and didn’t shout when they noticed the deer they were in no hurry to run away from us. A few birds were still singing so the forest isn’t totally quiet yet.

I haven’t mowed the lawn in over two weeks now so it was time to do it today. Not that it was especially high but high enough for ticks liking it. All kinds of animals walk around in the garden at nights and lots of birds visit during days and they all drop off ticks when they’re here. Keeping the grass short makes it harder for the ticks to wait and attack because the sunshine will burn them to dust if they stay there for too long.

Two horse flies bit me while mowing and they were so slow that they no longer are 🙂 I might have killed the last two we had but I’m pretty sure there are more where the cattle walks around. It is time for a cup of tea and perhaps an ice cream as well 🙂 One can never have too much ice cream 🙂

Have a great day!

This is My orchid the Snow Queen, Coelogyne cristata. It looks really sad when not in bloom 🙂
This is another little orchid, almost hardy here. The windowsill orchid,Pleione formosana. I bought it on sale a month ago and it looked really sad when it arrived but now it’s growing a new leaf. So if I treat it right it might flower next year.
This is what we call a weed. The flowers are quite beautiful though so I always wonder why they don’t try and grow those flowers bigger instead of always come up with new varieties of the same flowers they always do.
