A bit chilly before the next heatwave.

So it was only 2C (35,6F) last night, when we went up and out, way too early, it had risen to 4C (39,2F) and I would lie if I said it felt nice πŸ™‚ Still it really woke me up and gave me a good start to the working day πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Anyway, so yesterday I got this text message from someone that I was late on paying something and a phone number to call. Normally I would have wondered why anyone would call me with something like that but to be honest I had been late in paying a parking fee so I thought it was about that πŸ™‚ I called the number and someone answered and I just couldn’t understand what the person said. Already that made me a bit suspicious πŸ™‚ The person spoke in a dialect from the most southern parts of Sweden and too difficult to understand so Somewhere in the back of my head I realised this was some kind of scam.

The person told me that someone had taken a loan with my social security number and used my bank id which is impossible unless it’s me doing it and it was around $ 4600 US. Well I told him that no no one had and that I better call my bank and the police. He answered that yes that was best to do but they could connect me directly to my bank because that would go faster πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So I said no it’s better I call them myself. I rang to my bank and they informed me that someone is using a business name and calls a lot of people trying to do the same to them and said business were warning on their web site about what was going on and that if they ever would contact their clients about things like this they would only use one specific phone number and it was not the one I had on the text message.

So I called the police and gave them the info I had. They will most likely not catch anyone but I have at least done what I can to stop them from scamming anyone else. I was never stressed about it oddly enough, I think it might have been because of that heavy dialect because no business with any kind of service department would place someone there when very few would have had a chance to understand what the man said πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ My family is from that area so it was easier for me to get what he said πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

At the same time I was talking to the security department on my bank I also was looking at my sides of the internet banks website and noticed that an old bank id, which doesn’t work any more, still was there so I decided to just delete it. Just as I did the security man said: I think You deleted Your new one πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So today I had to drive to my bank 50 km away so they could help me to get a new bank id πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ After that I drove to my old work place and met some of my old work friends. Everyone should have been on vacation now but some stayed because they had so much to do.

The wind is blowing hard at the moment and every now and again some drops of rain falls, we also have lots of sunshine πŸ™‚ Chilly outside though so for once I have all windows and doors closed. A new heatwave is on the way though, that will make all the people having vacation happy πŸ™‚ I’m just about to have that last cup of tea and after that watch the news. I’ll most likely wake up before the alarm starts but that’s kind of nice, I get some extra time with the dogs in the garden before I drive away πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

We have the same weather again. Yesterday was cool and dark with a nice breeze from the east southeast. There was just the slightest hint of ocean smell in it. Such a relief after the horrid heat dome. Today is cool and rainy with a light wind from the northeast. My windows are open as is the front door. But another heat dome is moving in for the weekend, I think.

None of my dogs ate fruit off the bush. Rocky would bite branches off and gnaw on them. They all would eat fruit if I gave it to them, though, because that didn’t involve work on their part. πŸ˜€

      Hi Caryn!

We had some pretty cold nights but thankfully no frost.
The heat will arrive early next week but I think it’s quite hot already now πŸ™‚ Almost all windows and the kitchen door is open now in the evening so the little wind we have can blow through the cottage.

I think all my dogs are eaten fruit and berries directly from what ever they’ve grown on, I think the older taught the younger and it has been going on since my first dog Sickan, well over 30 years ago πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I had to laugh at what you said about the customer service person with the heavy dialect who was hard to understand. That’s exactly the type of speaker many American companies fill their call centers with. The less understandable, the better. They hope you get frustrated and hang up when you can’t make sense of a word the customer service rep says, so then they don’t have to solve your problem.

And the call is usually followed up by an email to you with a survey to fill out, begging for compliments on how wonderful your experience with their customer service was!

      Hi catsworking!

πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I don’t think we have the patience to listen to dialects we don’t understand, so we either just shut of the phone or call the police πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They tried it another way today.

I think we only get those emails when it comes to buying stuff from them, otherwise I’ve never gotten an email like that.

Well, you are very lucky. The survey emails are ridiculous here. Every time I walk into a Target store for anything (big chain store that’s second only to Walmart) I get a survey wanting to know all about my β€œexperience.”

They all do it. Or send you emails every day about every little thing they put on sale. They all think we want to have an intimate ongoing relationship with them. It’s exhausting. So much junk to delete all the time.

I do get emails with the bargains for the week but that’s it. So yes I do feel lucky πŸ™‚
