No need to water anything today.

I managed to stay in bed for one hour longer than yesterday despite the dogs doing their best to drag me up and outside to the garden 🙂 I have no idea what they wanted but they ran a lap along the fence and then they wanted to go indoors again, so I refused 🙂 Well they were just as happy to check out all new scents from during the night so I don’t think they cared that much 🙂

We had the last sunshine when we went out on our morning walk. Well the weather guessing have been a bit of so we might have more later on but so far today they’ve been right, cloudy, reasonable warm and a light drizzle. It’s actually quite nice to be honest. No need for watering anything but perhaps the trees and bushes I’ve planted this year, they do need help even days when it rains a lot the first year or so.

I was a bit surprised that not a single fly or mosquito annoyed us on the walk because it was warm enough for them to be flying around. I know the birds need all these horrible insects to survive but I wouldn’t complain if we had fewer than normal for once 🙂 Living beside a huge bog and cows always means lots of insects flying around all day and night long but I wouldn’t be sad if there was a lack of them for once 🙂

Today I need to do the laundry and I guess that since I don’t have a dryer I better do it as early as possible so it dries up properly before I need the clothes tomorrow, the humidity will stay high all day and night long. 97%-98% they say most of today and tomorrow. Nothing unusual since that also is a side effect of living beside a big bog.

It is time to make a pot of tea and I’ll also make a spaghettis sauce in the slow cooker today. Enough to last the work week so I have something to eat at work during the lunch break. I’ll have plenty to do so I know there will be no going home during the day to get something to eat at home, the more hours I get the happier I’ll be even though it is summer and people around me have vacation 🙂

Even the cherry trees in the forest will give some cherries this year despite the frost destroying most of the flowers.

Have a great day!

This week I was so annoyed about my failed seedlings, which were still yellow and without second leaves, that I pulled them out. However, I saw that the Chinese mustard I planted, which was about 5 cm tall, was full of yellow flowers. Very tiny yellow flowers, but it did bolt. .:-(

      Got carried away there!

So I planted squash, beans and New Zealand spinach. Of curse it hasn’t rained since then, so I have to go to the community garden every day to water. Oh well.

Anyhow, back to gardening. It is suppsed to rain tomorrow.

      Have a good week!

        Hi carolannie!

I have one squash plant and one spaghetti squash this year, a good year those will give me more than I want so one of each is enough for me 🙂 🙂 I have however never tried New Zealand spinach. I guess that’s something for next year to try. No need to water the vegetables for quite some time after today 🙂 🙂
        Wish You the same 🙂

      Hi carolannie!

Isn’t Chinese mustard a cabbage relative? I’m a bit fussy in the cabbage area to be honest. Some, like broccoli can start to flower really early if it gets too warm too early, has happened to me several times. Then again fried broccoli flowers are really tasty as well 🙂
