Morning mist.

It has been a rather wonderful day, despite me having to mow the lawn when it was wet. Both my neighbour and I have waited to mow the lawn with the hope that it would dry up, so stupid because of course it won’t 🙂 🙂 🙂 So we both started to mow at the same time earlier today. Wet grass sticks like glue to the inside of my mower so I had to stop quite often to dig out that green gunk and I’m not a fan of doing that 🙂 🙂

Before that however we woke up before 4 am again, the dogs noticed that I accidentally moved my eyelid and ran downstairs so I really had no choice and went up as well. I took a look out the window and saw that we had lots of morning mist so I grabbed my camera, opened the window and took a few photos. I do like a good morning mist so we headed out on our walk before the world started to wake up. Several hours before actually 🙂 🙂 🙂

I was a bit worried that the dogs would pick up loads of ticks but the grass was still so wet that if any tick had been there it would have drowned. So in the end I could only find three of them walking on the dogs. I really wanted to walk in that morning mist so we didn’t have any breakfast until we came back home from the walk. The moment I opened the door the Monster appeared and went straight to one of the sofas to have a nap 🙂

Today I finally decided that it was time to sow beans. They must have a warm soil to start growing and would rot of it wasn’t. I had one new bag with beans but a couple of older ones so it’ll be exciting to see if all or none of the old ones will start to grow. If they don’t I’ll sow peas there instead. I wanted to do it already now but I just don’t have any more space to sow them at. So since I prefer beans I sowed them in the last spots I had.

I had a few New England asters I sowed earlier so I planted those and also a couple of New York asters at the same time. At least the New York ones survives here and flowers again, usually when the first frost starts. The New England ones might survive winter here and since winters have been milder (not this last one, that one was nasty) I might get a chance to see them flower as well next year.

Clouds have arrived and we might get some rain tonight and it is welcome but the chance of getting more rain is bigger tomorrow afternoon. I do like to go outside to water my vegetables but it’s better if rain do the job. It’s strange but all plants seems to appreciated rain so much more than if I water them, I have no idea why but perhaps it has to do with humidity rising while if I water them it’s most likely sunny and humidity usually id lower?

Flowers in my garden right now.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day but first I’ll take a walk in the garden. The annoying forest flies are here but still just a few. That’s one reason I like our morning walks so much more than the other ones, it’s usually cool enough here so that they need some warmth before they start to fly around annoying us all 🙂

Have a great day!

Blue Lupin, it’s a European species and annual so we can still have them.
I will get cherries this year 🙂
