November, such a boring month.

The weather today was rather boring. Thick clouds covered the sky and in the morning there was quite a lot of wind as well. Still no frost and almost warmish made it quite nice anyway, well sitting indoors watching curling and drinking tea is quite nice this time of year πŸ™‚

We went out on walks but besides that very little was done. Did some laundry, make small pancakes (called plΓ€ttar, it’s said something like plaettar), they are small because back in the days when they wanted to brag about being rich but really didn’t want to say it out loud they made these smaller ones but instead of milk they used whipping cream and that was much more expensive πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I can’t say I like them when being made with whipping cream so I use milk.

It is November, one of the most boring of months. Nothing is able to brighten up this month to be honest (it competes with February to be the most boring month) it gets darker, the weather is usually crap and no holidays or anything to help making it better πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ December could have been worse but then at least we have Christmas, or Jul as we swedes call it. This year we at least have fist of Advent at the very end of the month so I can potentially start gathering moss and lichens for the advent candlestick. Although we do have the All mans right law here that gives us permission to pick a lot of things in nature moss and lichens don’t belong to those things. However if a branch has fallen off a tree and there are lichens growing on it we can pick those and I have plenty of moss I can pick in my garden πŸ™‚

I bought some air drying clay earlier this year so perhaps I’ll make another masterpiece, like the advent candlestick ship I did last year πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ (or is it two years ago?) Have no idea what I’ll make this year but there’s time to figure that out still. Anyway, I almost never have burning candles in my home so this year I have rechargeable candles, a variety we call vΓ€rmeljus (heat lights) but I just learned are called tea lights in English. I’ll show You when I’ve decorated the ship.

It is time to have that last cup of tea for the day. The cold isn’t any worse, nor is it better so it looks like I’ll survive this time too πŸ™‚

Have a great day!
