We have a gentle summer rain falling, I hope it softens up the ground so that when the predicted heavier showers arrive that rain will sink down into the ground and not just out from my garden and in to the bog.

So today was my last day working for the county, technically I should also have worked on Monday but I took that day off and will visit a friend instead. I didn’t have anything else that the pool today, so in between I instead went home and had a nice walk with the dogs.

We walked down to the creek and followed it down-stream for the first time since early June. It was still so dry that I didn’t find a single tick on either dog or me when we came back home. I’m pretty sure that will not be the case tomorrow if we would walk the same way again. There isn’t much water in the creek right now except for the last part of it before it turns and leaves from the paths we walk. We have beavers there now and I’m a bit surprised that for once no hunter has been there to shoot them. Then again if they had the ground there would have been so dry that only the drought resistant vegetation would have survived.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. Despite doing very little today I’m still so tired that I think I would be able to drink an entire pot without having problems falling asleep 🙂 🙂
Have a great day!
