Yesterday was horrible, temperature wise. 30C (86F) and the wind just made it worse by being warm as well. Everything dried out so I had lots of watering to do when I came back home from work. It did help some but there are lots of roots looking for those few drops of water they can find so I had to do it all again already when we woke up this morning. As long as it’s just warm but no sunshine the plants look so more better but then the sun shows and everything looks just like it will die at any minute.

The problem I have is that most of what I like and have planted needs low pH water while my tap water id very much high pH. It runs down from the mountain with more or less is made from lime 🙂 🙂 So I fill up a watering can with that water and then pour in some citric acid in it. Let it stand for a couple of hours and then water with it. So tonight I’ll fill up that can again, pour in some citric acid and use it tomorrow morning. The vegetables however have no problems what so ever with my tap water 🙂 My greenhouse is now a safe space for frogs and toads 🙂 The humidity is always right and they help me by eating snails and slugs 🙂 and what else they might like to eat 🙂

It was quite warm this morning when we. went out on our morning walk, so I thought that most of the few flies we still have out in the forest would be pestering us but it looks like the forest fly season might be over. Still flies out there but mostly those who really doesn’t care about other animals. No moose flies here yet, at least none has tried to land on me or the dogs. I so wish that they would die out in this area. Moose flies are fairly new to most of Sweden, they have moved north with the warmer climate. We didn’t have any when I was a kid and come to think of it we had barely no ticks either. I ran around in the forest in shorts and was never bitten by any tick, I think I was at least 25 when the first one bit me.

The monster hasn’t followed us on our walks in quite a while now, I guess she’s been busy elsewhere. It was the same today until she suddenly jumped out behind us on our way home quite far in to the forest. She then. ran ahead of us and just laid down on the ground 🙂 🙂 🙂 I don’t like it when she walks in to the forest by herself, so many things that would like to eat her if they’d get the chance. Then again I’m pretty sure this summer has been great for rodents so perhaps she isn’t worth the extra job it would take to get her? The only time she’s indoors for longer than ten minutes is when she comes in when I’m off to bed because no matter how loud she shouts I will not get out of bed just to let her out again 🙂 🙂

It is time to have that last cup of tea for the day. The heat has made me so tired so I think I would be able to drink an entire pot without having trouble sleeping 🙂 🙂 It was not as hot today as it was yesterday but rather close to it, now cooler weather will fly in but most likely no rain until Wednesdays best, I really am tired of this drought now.

Have a great day!
