It actually works as a substitute for ice cream :-)

The temperature rose to 32C (89,6F) on Thursday and the night was way too warm as well so I’m still very tired after that. Not only I but most of us had a hard time that day. Today however we’re back to 20C (68F) and life feels good 🙂 It’ll stay like this, mostly sunny and around the same temperature for a few days but then it’ll become warmer again. I do hope it doesn’t rise that high again!

Cool and nice this morning so even if we were a bit late to get out on our morning walk it still was really nice. Very few flies still except for my neighbours garden 🙂 🙂 They have chickens and rabbits so I guess that’s why the flies like it there. I do have a few in the garden as well of course but only the annoying but not biting kind. I caught the mosquito larva in my water barrels before most could start to fly, my aquarium fish loved them 🙂 , so no mosquitoes around either. On the one hand I love it but on the other I do feel that something’s really wrong. I’ll see if I can post a very old video I made long ago to show what it was like here on a good summer day when it comes to flies 🙂

Flies.

So I’ve baked bread this morning but before that I also made a trip to the supermarket in Skara. Normally I always do my grocery shopping after work but that’s a bit tricky now when I carpool with my neighbour because we pick up his children from preschool after work every second wee, the other weeks we leave them at preschool in the morning instead. But from next week he will stay at home on Fridays, paternity leave, so I’ll do my grocery shopping then instead 🙂 Probably lots of people doing the same on Fridays but that doesn’t matter, I have all the time in the world 🙂

I thought the beefsteak tomatoes would take a lot of time to ripen but more and more of them shows a slight change in coloration now 🙂 The first one tasted mostly meh but the second one was really nice so I have high hopes for the third one 🙂 I have one tiny water melon growing as well 🙂 the vines have had loads of flowers but so far I’ve only seen this tiny one. I guess that’s the sign saying I should cut off the top of that vine so it concentrates on growing the melon and nothing else. First time I’ve ever come so far, normally I never see a single melon 🙂 🙂

Did You know that the ballpoint pens where one can erase what’s written and write over that place again, that ink vanishes with heat? I learned that the hard way when I was going to fill in the hours I had worked this month. Almost everything I’d written down had vanished!!! I could see most of it if I had the paper in a certain angle towards a light but I can’t say I had a fun time trying to see what I had written before 🙂 🙂 🙂

The tiny little water melon 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I think I’ll also have a bowl with banana yogurt, sliced banana and a granola with cocoa in it, I’ll of course sprinkle some cinnamon over it as well. To be honest, it feels more like a dessert that anything else, actually works pretty well as a substitute for ice cream 🙂 🙂 🙂

    Your dogs always look like they’re killing each other when they play, but I assume it’s all for show. Sarah is wise not to get involved.

    After reading about how easy it is for crooks to wash ink off of checks and write in any amount they want, I bought some pens that are supposed to have unwashable ink just for the few checks I ever write anymore. Erasable ink seemed like a good idea to someone, but I always thought if you want to be able to erase what you wrote, why not just use a pencil?

    I’ve found that receipts printed on thermal paper also disappear over time, even if kept in a dark place. I kept receipts for some major purchases that are just blank now.

    Your greenhouse seems to suddenly look like a jungle. Did everything inside it grow really fast, or have you been putting more plants in it?

    The flies video was pretty scary. I’ve never seen so many flies hanging around a place unless there was garbage to eat.

      Well they’re never serious but I think teeth and paws are the only thing that shows clearly when they play 🙂 🙂

      I’ve never heard go ink vanishing because of heat so this was a surprise to me 🙂
      This kind of pen was made for people drawing plans to for instance houses, so if they did something wrong it would be easy to just erase it and draw the same t5hing again. Otherwise they would have to redo the entire thing.
      I have noticed that on recipes as well. Pretty good for businesses when we can’t show a receipt if the thing needs to be returned 🙂 🙂 🙂

      The plants have grown really fast 🙂 They actually stopped growing when we had the heatwaves but as soon as it cooled down they grew something extraordinary 🙂

      That video was made ion a good day so I remember I did feel a bit disappointed that I couldn’t show how many flies we actually had out there in the forest 🙂 🙂 🙂 It’s because of the bog we have so many flies here, just the right conditions for flies I’m afraid. I guess it’s because we’ve had droughts for a couple of years now that we don’t have any flies to talk about any longer. I do like the fly free summer but at the same time flies are what birds eat.
