We’ve had a really wonderful summer day here. Sunshine all day long. A few clouds passed by but no big ones. It was just enough warm, just below 20C (68F) and the wind we had was lukewarm. I really can’t complain about that, can I ? 🙂

The cows are still blocking our way to be able to follow the creek in the fields so we went out to the bog instead. The only animals I could see or hear were birds, bees and flies plus a few spiders as well. I think we have lots of spiders now because my head was covered in thing spider threads when we left the forest 🙂 🙂 🙂 Well I picked two ticks walking on the dogs as well but I dislike them so much that I don’t count them 🙂

I had sown some broccoli and an asian cabbage in a tray and I planted some of them around the greenhouse. A sunny day is not the best day to do that but I covered them with garden fleece so they wouldn’t be burned by the sun and also because I don’t want them to dry out. There’s also the Cabbage butterfly and the cabbage moth to think about. I don’t think they’ve shown up yet though but one can never be too careful. I still have lots of those seedlings left so I better prepare another place so I can plant the rest as well.

It is also time to sown beans and peas now, the ground is warm enough now. The problem is that we still can have frosty nights until around June sixth but I bought more garden fleece so I think that’s enough to protect any growing vegetable. The potatoes I put in pots and buckets are showing and I might actually have small fresh potatoes at midsummer eve to eat. Fresh potatoes are probably the most important thing to have then, even more so than the horrid pickled herring everyone must have (not me, I hate it ) 🙂 For those not knowing, Midsummer is even bigger than Christmas here.

I have even done some laundry! It does sound like I’ve been really active today but mostly I’ve just relaxed drinking tea and eating yogurt with a cubed pear, cinnamon and some muesli, I don’t react the same way with muesli as I do with granola 🙂 🙂 🙂

Well I think it is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I’ll skip tv and have it outside because it’s still pleasantly warm outside. They’re guessing that this summer will start with rather varied weather but later on it’ll become warmer and dryer than usual. Last summer was really dry so I can’t even imagine how dry it will be and I have a rather vivid imagination 🙂

Have a great day!
