That wind never stops.

Another summer warm day here but with an annoying wind blowing all the time, ok it is warm but the wind never seem to calm down any more. We’ll have one more nice day before the arctic winds return again. This time it looks as at least the nights will be warmer so they don’t predict any frost thankfully. We were out on our morning walk quite early today and I hoped we might see any of the badgers or our fox but instead we barely saw anything, just a few roe deer far away 🙂

I haven’t done especially much today, I’ve sort of done everything in the garden that had to be done and it is still too early to start the mower (thankfully 🙂 ). I have watered everything newly planted and the few plants in the greenhouse and actually for once don’t have anything else to plant 🙂 At least three of the five Quince trees (Cydonia oblonga) has survived winter which I doubted they would do since they aren’t that hardy. Big parts have frozen but I can see new leafs growing, one Apricot seems totally dead but the rest has survived.

I had a little coffee break when the ice cream lorry came down the road, so I had coffee and ice cream during that little break 🙂 Today is a holiday here, The Workers day. Back in the day lots of people were out demonstrating and listened to left side politicians talking about workers rights and what they would want to do to make it even better. Now days, since most people know that politicians never do what they say, not even the left side, people just have it as a day to barbecue, go to the countryside or just relax. Back in the days they even showed it all live on tv, now they show some of it in the news but that’s it. That’s what happens when politicians more care about power than actually care about their voters.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and I will of course enjoy an ice cream at the same time. I’ll take another little walk around the garden to see if I’ve missed something and after that who knows what to do, perhaps read a book?

Cherry plum flower. I really hope the night frost stays away so I can see the first plums this year 🙂

Nanking cherry flowers.

Sulphur wood anemone. It is a natural hybrid between the white and yellow wood anemone. Sterile but spreads with its roots instead.

Yellow wood anemone.

White wood anemone.

White Checkered lily.

Have a great day!

    Hi, Christer!

Do you meed two trees for pawpaws to produce fruit? It’s something i remember vageue, but am not sure.

Our weather here is working to be summery, with warm days and tgen cool days. But no arctic weather blowing in

My tomatoes and peppers just came and i am going to plant them in the community garden which has a lot of sun. Ours has a lot of shade, which slows fruiting down. I hope we don’t get any cold spells!

    Have aa great week!

      Hi Carol!

You’re so right but they have actually managed to get some varieties that don’t need another tree now. I don’t have any like that though. I checked them today and even if they are damaged by this last winter most of my trees are still alive 🙂 I could see new green leafs showing today 🙂

Just as warm as yesterday here but the wind was absolutely insane for most of the day, the low pressure from the arctic is on its way I’m afraid. I will not complain about it if it gives us lots of rain, otherwise I will complain a lot 🙂 🙂 🙂

I have moved out my bell peppers but most of the tomato plants are still indoors, there is a little risk we’ll get frost one night after all.

      The same to You 🙂

Every time you mention the ice cream lorry coming down your road, I get a bit envious, Christer, but then I know we can go to a supermarket that perhaps is closer than any for you 😏. Everything looks very green now and we are not nearly the same, but we have had a lot of windy days.

      Hi Beatrice!

Yes I do live a bit far away from any store to buy ic cream, at least if I still want it to be frozen when I come home 🙂 🙂 It can work in winter though.

Always windy here it seems, unless we want the wind because then it just vanishes 🙂 🙂 🙂
Only a few things still not having any leafs now, it’s like an explosion in green here now 🙂
