Moose hunting season.

So only photos taken from my garden or in my garden today. This is the pasture the wild hogs like to walk around in.

We’ve had a warm, sunny and wind free day today, so warm that I could turn off the radiators and have the kitchen door open until the sun decided to leave the southern wall it hit all day. Today is the start of the annual moose hunting season so we haven’t been able to walk in the forest and will most likely not have any morning walks there until Monday.

On the other side they usually leave quite early in the day after a few days so we can have walks there anyway. I would have loved to walk in the village but Alma is like she is and the last time we tried, must be a year ago now, she was so impossible that I’ve given up the thought of ever go there again. I love that dog but she has her ideas about the world being dangerous, so I’m happy we at least have the forest we can walk in.

Tomorrow will be a fun day I think, First I’ll pick up my “new” phone and then I’ll drive to a friend I used to work with. His son has caught a new cold and my friend has to stay at home with him. As You probably know parents get paid if staying at home with a sick child here in Sweden. Better to stay at home than going to work spreading what ever disease children have. Since I already have a cold as well I’ll have a day out πŸ™‚ Also I’ll buy some fish for my aquarium because he’s a neighbour to a pet shop πŸ™‚ Now days it’s difficult to find someone selling aquarium fish here because they need to have a license Β that gives them the right to do so and it costs a small fortune.

The hunters always put up a sign when ever they are out hunting. You can see it here in front of the dark caravan.

Well they need a license to sell any other animal as well like rodents or reptiles or what ever it is they want to sell. Pet stores here have never been allowed to sell dogs and cats though. So now I have to decide what kind of fish I want and it can only be a few since I now days only have the aquarium filled up to a third and plants soon will grow in the upper third, I think I might find the right kind of plants for that too because this pet store also sale terrariums.

It is time for that last cup of tea and I bought a rice chocolate bar when I was at the supermarket this morning, it’ll go perfect with some tea πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. I see that Sarah has made quick work of shredding her collar. When my cats wore collars, they’d do the same thing, scratching at their necks. I never found a collar made of anything that would hold up, except maybe plastic, but plastic would be too stiff and uncomfortable to wear.

Maybe the collar made their necks itch. Max used to scratch at his till his neck got scabs on it.

    1. Hi catsworking!

Yes I think the collars itch so she’s scratching some around it but so far never wanted to remove it. I’ve had dogs that reacted the same way so I stopped to have collars on them. More difficult with her since I want people to know she lives somewhere and isn ‘t feral.

      1. I want her to wear one so that if anything happens to her they will know she’s domestic, especially since she has a sibling looking very much like her.

It is the law here that cats (and dogs) must have microchips, for cats mostly because to rise their value so fewer toss them out when summer is over, we call those cats summer cats and most of the feral cats around here, living at the farms are summer cats.

  2. We have yet to see an actual moose in NH despite all the roadway signs that state “Moose Crossing.” So fr, not one has crossed even when we have stopped the car 🚘. But then, we really would not want to have an actual encounter with one of these large animals.

Hope the new phone works out well for you. We will be upgrading our iPhones for the latest model sometime before the end of this year. We wanted to wait until after the initial sales rush and before the holiday sales rush, so early November is our timeframe. We also learned online from Apple that we can get up to $300 for our 14 models, so a nice incentive to do a trade-in sooner vs. later.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

Moose can be nasty and they do kill people every now and again so I like to see them from a distance. Your moose are even bigger than ours so be glad You haven’t met any πŸ™‚ They are just as good at aiming with both front and back legs when they want to.

I must admit it does work good so now the hate for it has turned to mild dislike πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
I bought a used one that looks just as it was brand new and it was also on sale so I consider myself lucky πŸ™‚ It’s fun but I have an iPad and a Mac computer but iPhone and I really don’t work together πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So a Samsung it is πŸ™‚
Great that You can get that much money! That would never happen here, at least not when it comes to Apple. They are slightly unpleasant to have to deal with over here unfortunately.
