Category: The creek.

Tiny, tiny snowflakes.

Yes they fell yesterday evening but they were tiny and I think all of them melted away as soon as they hit anything because of all the rain we had just before they started to fall. When I say tiny, imagine misty rain, drops just slightly bigger than fog drops becoming snow instead.

It want cold during night though so I was happy I had bought new studded boots so I could walk anywhere even if it was mostly ice. -4,8C (23,36F) as coldest and just before we went out on our morning walk. Lots of frost everywhere so I must admit that the world did look rather pretty and it even gave me some Christmas feelings πŸ™‚ We walked down to the creek and I was a bit hesitant to walk on the road over the creek. Last time we had this much water in it I fell down in to a sink hole created by water flowing beside the concrete pipe that usually leads the water. I was lucky that time because I happened to fall so my feet hit the concrete pipe and I also still had my shoulders high enough up so I could get out from there πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The little metal bridge isn’t especially visible any more πŸ™‚ I really didn’t want to try and walk on it so we followed the field until I found a place where we could pass and in to the forest.

All worked well this time but it was impossible to cross over to the forest on the other side of the fields so we had to walk quite some distance before the ditch that follows the edge was dry enough to walk over to the forest. The reason by the way that the water level is as high is because of beavers, they’ve more or less plugged the entire concrete pipe with sticks and mud πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β The rest of the walk wasn’t that exciting πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β and I never saw any beaver. Just as well because it happens that they attack people if they get too close and there’s also that beaver that for some reason walked up to a bust stop in a bigger city here in Sweden and bit a woman (I think it was) that was waiting for the bus. Just imagine those huge, yellow sharp teeth cutting in to Your leg!

Normally however beavers are very shy so no reason to be afraid to see one close by πŸ™‚ I also went to a grocery store in FalkΓΆping today. I had bought what I wanted when I realised that it was a really long time since I had eaten reindeer, back in the days those packages were rather small. just enough for one or perhaps two dinners. Have You ever eaten it? If not You’ll either hate or love it. Reindeer with boiled potatoes and a mushroom stew is delicious according to my tastebuds. Anyway, I noticed that the price is nasty high now, even more expensive than filet of beef and the package was almost a pound so I had to skip it. To be honest, anything tastes great with a good mushroom stew πŸ™‚

The reason I want to FalkΓΆping to buy groceries instead of Skara like I usually do was because I was going to pick up a small package on my way home. I had ordered some Narcissus bulbs and seeds to a small banana plant with edible bananas (if they ever would like to show up) and another seed I can’t remember at the moment. What looked like a good idea last week when it still would be fairly warm (when it comes to the bulbs) is now a slightly less good idea πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Bulbs can be planted as long it is possible to make a hole in the ground and it will stay pretty chilly here for a long while it looks so I’ll most likely plant them in a pot and keep the in the cool cellar during winter and plant them when they have flowered next spring.

Now I remember what the other seed bag is, an edible passion flower species, Barbadine I think it’s called in English. I already have the common passion fruit flower seeds and thought that now when I have a greenhouse I’ll try them in there during summer. They usually germinate quite easy but to get fruit one need two different vines. By that I mean You can’t take a cutting from one and think that it is another plant because it is the exact same one that You took the cutting from. So two seed sown plants are needed and they will not give any fruit the first year. Passion flowers grow like weeds to be honest so as long as one treat them as they like they’ll never die πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It is already (5:13 pm) almost as cold outside as it was this morning so I don’t want to guess how cold it’ll be tomorrow when I wake up πŸ™‚ Sunny all day though so it might be nice anyway. It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and after that, later tonight, watch my favourite quiz program On the Tracks.

Have a great day!

Still raining.

We were lucky today to have our morning walk before the rain arrived, well sort of because it did start to drizzle on our way home but drizzle doesn’t count πŸ™‚ It has continued to rain all day and still does. Now even all those wood chips seems to slowly sink down into the mud beneath so even if I’m not happy about colder weather coming it will at least freeze the ground some so that it is walkable again.

There are two mushrooms on that tree stump and they’re both well over 30 cm (a foot) long.

Today the second package with an aquarium arrived and this one was actually not broken by our postal service πŸ™‚ I was pretty surprised about that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They always wants us to grade how they did and possibly write a comment as well. So I wrote that perhaps they should teach people not to put other heavier packages on the ones having stickers saying Fragile on them πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I think they truly dislike me at the postal center in FalkΓΆping because I once threatened them by calling the police on them if they didn’t stop placing my packages anywhere where I don’t live πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ That is however a non existing problem now days πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It’ll be fun for those driving to work tomorrow morning when all this rain that has been falling turns to ice. We will have below 0C (32F) in the morning and it will not be that much warmer during the day. I’ll need to drive to a grocery store (and also a petrol station) tomorrow but I can do that later when the ice is gone. I could wait until Saturday but even if I don’t have a job to go to it still feels wrong to do that on a Saturday or Sunday πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I have forgotten to make any dinner today πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I was thinking of making pancakes but I’m just not hungry. So I’ll make them tomorrow instead. Yesterday I thought I went to be at normal time but I must have seen wrong when I walked upstairs because I had a text message that I thought arrived after nine but today when I checked the time it says it arrived at 8:30 pm πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β I did think it took some time to fall asleep πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and after that perhaps watch a dvd.

Have a great day!

The sunshine is still warm.

Dryer and colder winds will fly down over the country and I could feel it early this morning. 0C (32F) when the dogs and I went out for our morning walk. All the cars were covered in frost and the ground was slightly frozen so we weren’t especially muddy when we came back home.

Two male Bullfinches.

Sunshine all day long though and the heat from the sun was so strong that I could have the kitchen door open as long as the light hit the south heading wall. I can’t say it felt like early spring but it was really nice. This was however most likely the last sunshine we will see for at least ten days if the weather sites have guessed it right πŸ™‚

The temperatures will fall so from tomorrow it will be a bit chilly here. Not below 0C (32F) during the days but perhaps during nights. Β I took a look at the Kaki fruit kernels (an Asian relative to the Persimmon fruit) in the fridge, It does look as at least one might germinate so hold Your thumbs and cross Your fingers for good luck πŸ™‚ Β This time of year is a bit boring when it comes to gardening and sowing. Well some plants need a winter or two to be able to germinate so I’ll start with those but not until January.

I bought myself a big Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) bulb when I went to the grocery store in FalkΓΆping after our walkThe ones I’ve seen has been ridiculously expensive but these were manageable in price. It says this one will have red petals with a white string in the middle of every petal. I don’t care if it is or not (usually lots of those bulbs are wrongly marked but who cares just as long as they flower πŸ™‚ ) Have You ever sown the seeds from the Amaryllis? It is quite easy but it’ll take around three to four years until they flower and the flowers will most likely not look the same as the parent plant, sometimes one get the most amazing flowers from seeds.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and later I’ll watch On the Tracks on tv, it’s really the only thing I watch now days πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

There will be photos that were taken today and yesterday.

It has been a couple of calm days here, mostly grey and dull, some rain and even some sunshine, around two minutes of it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

We were lucky that those minutes happened while we were out walking but we need more of it now when days get shorter and it’s still around two more months of that until it finally turns around again. It does however help that I am unemployed because I never had enough daylight when I had a job so I guess that’s positive πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It was the same last year and to be honest I really didn’t get sick last year so I’m hoping for the same result this year, as soon as that cold that seems to love me finally leaves πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The hunters were here today and had brought hunting dogs, I didn’t hear a sound from them so I guess that’s why they left early. There has been unusually few deer , hares and other animals around lately and I guess that can have to do with the wolf/ wolves being here. Well I didn’t think we would have a chance to tale a walk in the forest today so I was pretty happy when I noticed that they all had left.

Because of the rain we haven’t been out in the garden much either so I’ve mostly watched the dvd collection of A Town called Eureka and I’ve also been drinking a lot of coffee so it is time to make that cup of tea instead before I continue with watching dvd’s πŸ™‚

The old rose covered all space behind the chips I made from the branches in my compost grinder, around 4 square meter (I think it’s more or less the same in square yards)

Have a great day!

It was at least not raining today.

Waiting for his turn at the bird feeder. The photos will be from both yesterday and today.

I haven’t done much today or yesterday to be honest, well I drove to the store in KvΓ€num and was surprised over how much it costed but I really shouldn’t have because everything is nasty expensive now days. Didn’t think I bought that much but then again I did but a quite big chunk of cheese and Wiener sausages, they do cost more than the others but it is worth it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Also I bought a few batteries and even though they’re not especially big the price on them is so after a while I realised it wasn’t that bad after all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I have two old dvd players, one that doesn’t open up so I can put a dvd in it and one that do open up but for some reason doesn’t put out the sound when it should so people can talk like crazy but no sound, however it does come after a while at the wrong place πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So I had bought a new cheap one to replace them. Well something didn’t work as it should on that one either, it might be as simple as something is wrong with the HDMI cable. I’ve tried everything, even the old screen to my last computer. I was in the kitchen when I tried it but nothing happened. So a bit annoyed I ripped out the cable to the screen and would bring it back from where I fetched it. Well I didn’t rip out the right cable so the dvd player fell down on the floor in a quite high speed.

So that one doesn’t work either now πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ That’s when I remembered my old laptops have dvd players so I brought one of them down to the living room and put in a dvd. All worked just fine until it didn’t. So since I now was a bit more annoyed I hit my fist over the laptop and everything stopped and the screen froze πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Nothing worked so since I do need this laptop when I want to write out documents for the road association meetings I shut it off and then on again. Now the dvd player works just as it should and everything else seems to be working fine as well πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

When I was in KvΓ€num I also visited my old work friends and I talked with my old apprentice about that I need to get a banked on my new phone and that’s always tricky as best. so he showed me what to do and that worked so easily that it surprised me, so now I don’t have to worry about the old phone shutting down again because now I have it on my new phone πŸ™‚ Yesterday we had muggy weather with rain on and off but today the sun shone all day long πŸ™‚ Also the sun warmed up the cottage so much that I could turn off the radiators πŸ™‚ The muggy and rainy weather will return again tomorrow though. We do need it but days get so boring when we have to stay indoors all the time, then again I can now watch my dvd’s so that’s better πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I bought all seasons of an old favourite of mine called “A town called Eureka” it has not aged bad at all πŸ™‚

It is time to give the animals their food and after that I guess I’ll watch a couple of programs on my old laptop πŸ™‚ Of course I’ll make a pot of tea before I start πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

It did feel much colder.

Β

We had a beautiful sunny morning today but it was nasty cold. I don’t understand why it felt that could because we’ve had colder mornings that didn’t feel as bad πŸ™‚ Lots of frost, no wind and sunshine and still my hands froze to ice πŸ™‚Β

No moose flies or ticks though so that was a big plus πŸ™‚ We walked down to the creek and followed it up stream. Small birds were tweeting and they Jays screaming but the most noticeable sound was the frozen leafs falling to the ground, for a while I thought squirrels must be jumping between the trees and sort of was disappointed when I understood that it just was icy hard frozen leafs πŸ™‚Β

Today we finally could walk up and in to the older forest, nothing much had changed since the last time we were there except that the fallen trees had been removed. I don’t know why but it always feel safe when walking there and it is a bit odd since there’s nothing dangerous anywhere in this surrounding πŸ™‚ Also compact spruce forest isn’t even my favourite kind of forest to be honest. I guess it’s because not a sound from the outside world can reach in there, not even now when all leafs are falling off the trees outside.

he temperature managed to rise up to 10C (50F) but not even the sunshine could make it so nice that I could have the kitchen door open. We were outside in the garden quite a lot but each time a bit short because the dogs wanted to go inside, none of them are cold weather dogs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Well it is that time of year so we better get used to the colder weather. The supermarket has already put up a Christmas tree by the entrance and it is full of coloured lights. I wonder why they want us to hate Christmas by the time it’s actually here?

This little cold I have makes me more tired than I thought it would be so today we took a long nap the dogs and I. Well I’m getting older so I guess I’ll have to get used to that even smaller colds have this effect on me now. I can’t say I feel especially sick but it seems my body really doesn’t care about that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The only thing I’ve actually done today is to order new spiked winter shoes. A certain black dog who loves to chew on shoes destroyed the ones I already had. They were a few years old but still in really good shape so to say I was quite annoyed by him doing that is a bit of an understatement πŸ™‚ For once I had just left them on the floor and Malkolm will never miss a chance like that to a new chew toy πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ well two since he managed to destroy both πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day andI’m pretty sure I’ll doze of in front of the tv even though they show my favourite science program today πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

I wouldn’t say that they has a sale on blue cheese in the store today but when comparing the price to the smaller packages it still was pretty cheap (well that’s a lie nothing is ever cheap, especially not blue cheese πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ) so I’m now pretty sure Malkolm will love to eat breakfast again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β Alma eats any crap but she’ll have some blue cheese as well of course.

We had a chilly morning but since the hunters were out we couldn’t have our usual morning walk. By the time I came home again the hunters already were gone and it must have been less than an hour I was away. Anyway during that short time most of the grass had dried up so it has been a rather warm day even outside the little hollow I live in. Β I met another hunter sitting in a hunting tower and it turns out that he had fallen asleep in the warm weather πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I know him well so we had a little chat before the dogs and I continued our walk. Both he and I had had a rather bad night and we think it’s because we both have that small cold when the nose is stuffed but not much else than the normal tiredness happening.

I want to have a new project. I actually have one that has been waiting for years but I don’t have all the materials I need and I must be careful with my economy since I don’t have a job. One never knows what might happen so it’s always good to have a an emergency fund just in case and not touch that until it is absolutely needed. I’m far from needing that but buying a lot of things not absolutely needed is just stupid even if I would have fun doing it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

As usual there’s nothing worth watching on tv so I’ll make myself a pot of tea and most likely snooze in the recliner for the rest of the night πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

This is not the monster but most likely her sibling πŸ™‚ If he/ she ever comes here I guess I’ll just let it stay πŸ™‚

Just an ordinary day.

A really nice day again, chilly and sunny in the early morning and warm and sunny for the rest of the day. We haven’t had any hunters here for two days and that’s very unusual. These guys have two smaller areas to hunt at and since we rarely have any moose here now days (we used to have loads, almost always meeting a moose or two each time we were out walking, then some kind of disease hit the moose and they almost disappeared), so they concentrated more on the other little area.

They’ll be here tomorrow though. Neither they nor I have seen especially much wildlife this year, except for wild hogs but they have caught lots with the wild life cameras they’ve put up, so now we’re all wondering what they do during the days when we’re around. So instead of having a morning walk tomorrow I’ll drive to the supermarket instead on doing that on Sunday and we’ll have our usual afternoon walk and hope the moose flies stays calm, I truly dislike those flies.

So the orange blob didn’t get the peace prize and I wonder why he was the favourite in the betting sites? After all the Norwegian peace prize comity has a back bone that few others have and they don’t give a shit about being pressured by him to give him the prize πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They would never give a peace prize to someone who has stopped aid to starving people, persecuting immigrants in his own country or threatening his own people with violence under the disguise he wants to stop crime that isn’t there. Also I’ve never heard that they’ve ever given it to a fascist ever. Also the tariffs isn’t helping anyone except for perhaps the billionaires already living in the country, it sure doesn’t help the poor, perhaps someone should tell him that?

Plus the fact that it isn’t peace until it lasted for a longer period of time, just signing a paper makes no peace. Over here it has been calm as always πŸ™‚ It’s getting dark and the temperature is dropping so I’ve turned on the radiators. This weekend will stay reasonable warm but next week the temperatures will drop below 10C (50F) and even if the sun will be shining a lot according to their guesses it will most likely be cold anyway. So different from spring with that temperature when it suddenly feels nice after the long winter πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and I think I’ll warm up the SmΓ₯lΓ€ndska cheesecake I have in the fridge πŸ™‚ I better remember to buy a new one when I’m at the store tomorrow πŸ™‚ I’ll also buy some blue cheese because Malkolm has become a bit picky when it comes to eat breakfast, suddenly he’s not hungry or don’t like the food he gets. Old Nova was much the same all her life and the only thing making her eat breakfast was to put some blue cheese in her food πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The rest of the day all food goes down though πŸ™‚ I’ve bought so much blue cheese in my life even when I didn’t want any myself, the things we do for our dogs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

I already have too many seeds for next year :-)

The moon yesterday evening.

It is raining, sort of a nice spring rain. Ok I know it’s autumn but that’s the feeling I get when being outside and not even the dogs seems to dislike it. We walked down to the creek this morning unlike yesterday when we walked out to the bog. It is strange but those moose flies survives lots of night with frost and they love it out by the bog so I didn’t want that to do that mistake again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I’ve noticed that there are lots fewer moose flies if we walk on the wider gravel roads even though they do sometimes even turn up here in my garden. Also it is seldom that any of them stays close to the creek, I have no idea to why though and it could just be coincidence but it’s like that every year. I think the moose passed just outside the garden yesterday evening because Alma was in guarding mood the entire time we were outside when it started to go dark. I could see some big tracks in the grass just outside my fence. If it had been a wolf she wouldn’t go outside at all πŸ™‚ and the wild hogs walks closer to the forest on the other side of my home.

Our squirrels are quite shy so it’s always a joy when one can see them.

I always go out on seed sites this time of year and to be honest I already have many more seeds than I can sow next year πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Then however, a couple of days ago I found seeds to something called Litchie tomato. It isn’t a tomato but a relative in the Nightshade family and even though I could see in photos that it must have been made in hell because it has zillions with really sharp small thorns I thought I have to test it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’ve now been out on Youtube and watched a few videos and it is clear that it can’t grow in a place I have to pass at all because those spikes will hit me πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Also I’ve learned that it is quite hardy, not that it will survive a winter here but night frost isn’t a problem at all. So it is either growing in the back of the greenhouse or it’ll just grow up there and later planted outside. Anyway it will be fun to try it πŸ™‚ An odd thing happened when I tried to order it via my phone, for some reason I couldn’t get the seeds I bought by mail? Really strange since those packages I ordered hardly would even be noticed in an ordinary envelope. I could however go and pick it up at the seed firm not too far from where I live. That annoyed me so much that I cancelled the order πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ However I regretted it and did the order via my computer and then I didn’t even get a choice to pick it it, I could only get the seeds by mail πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Thos are the problems we have in the village at the outskirts of the world πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Well it is a long time until spring so I’ll place these seeds together with all the other seeds I already have in a plastic lunch box until it is time to start thinking about it again. It is time to feed the dogs and the monster and I already have a cup of tea by my side. I have caught a small cold, nothing serious just stuffed nose, freezing a little and sneezing a lot πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I still have honey that my old neighbours gave me so I’ll have some of that and hope this will pass quickly even though it isn’t that bad πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

They are slowly ripening πŸ™‚ I had to take this photo with a flash so the colours aren’t quite right. They are turning towards a very dark red colour.

For a while in the early morning it looked like we were going to have sunshine while we were out walking and we did for around twenty seconds πŸ™‚ Then the rain arrived, no heavy showers but either a steady but calm rainfall or misty rain. It wasn’t until just after noon the sun made a come back and now three hours later I can see that the rain is falling again.

The rain on the mountain missed us but another one came a short moment after.

So I haven’t done a lot today, mostly drinking tea and watching tv, well I wouldn’t be able to tell You what it was I looked at because mostly it was pretty boring and nothing I really wanted to see. When the sunshine finally arrived I’ve mostly been throwing away what I’ve had in pots and poured it all out close to where the plum tree stood. I dug up all the dahlias and for the first time in my life only one can be saved till next year, I have no idea why they didn’t create root lumps like dahlias always do. Could be that I’ve watered them too little.

No signs of any wolf still staying around, they rarely do to be honest. I did see some tracks from moose though and they looked really fresh, if they had been old the rain would have wiped them out. To my very big surprise I finally found my jigsaw!! and it was pure luck because I can’t really understand why I had placed it there, beneath the entrance stairs??!! It must have been that a shower passed by and that was the closest place I could find, otherwise I have absolutely no idea πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Thankfully it is in a sort of plastic suitcase so no water from the latest rains had managed to get to it. So it still works and soon I’ll be able to have that third rainwater barrel πŸ™‚

Well the weather doesn’t seem to become any nicer again so I guess I better make a pot of tea and perhaps doze off in front of the tv πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Even colder this morning.

Β

Even colder this morning but they sun was rising over the village covered in morning mist so it didn’t take long before it was warm enough in my garden for a t-shirt instead of the thick sweater I had when we went out to the garden after we woke up. The tomatoes are still fine but now lots of the vegetation has damages after the cold night. The Pawpaws however still look fine but I do hope they now will prepare for the winter that’s coming.

By the way did the rapture happen? Β It looks like my whole village might have been left behind, well perhaps the entire country as far as I know πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So did anyone go? Β πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ To be honest the rapture is an American thing, no one in Europe from what I know believes in this so I guess that’s why we still are here πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I do like these End of the World scenarios though. Normally it’s about a comet hitting the planet, a rouge planet passing by creating havoc here or Nostradamus πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I lost the feeling in my fingers while we were out on our morning walk I didn’t think I would need gloves or mittens this early in autumn, it wasn’t until we were almost at home that the sun finally warmed them up. I didn’t pick any mushrooms today, most of them would have been turned to ice anyway. We walked the same way as Yesterday because I wanted to see the morning mist for as long as possible and the only chance to do that is to not walk the first bit in the forest. The mist tends to evaporate as soon as the sun starts to warm up the world. Fog is a totally different thing because if it is thick the heat from the sun might not be able to reach down to us ground creatures πŸ™‚

Now when I suddenly had nothing to plant, sawn off Β almost all dead branches and pruned the trees and mowed the grass yesterday I had no idea what to do πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ That’s when I suddenly remembered there was one thing I can do. I’ll show You in tomorrows post if it is done but won’t tell You what it is now. It did mean a lot of digging, finding something I used years ago and it will make my muscles ache tomorrow πŸ™‚ Still this isn’t anything big but involves lots of work πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Also it is placed in the absolute wrong place but I can’t move it for some reason πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I have otherwise done very little today. I did make dinner, oven fried potatoes and Wiener sausages. The dogs loves the potatoes so I always share them. I should have had some oil dripped over them but skipped that since the dogs would have some as well. I had some film tools developed and I must admit I have no idea what cameras I used and lots of them were so shaky that they aren’t worth showing also all seems to have been taken during winter so they look cold πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day ad tonight they show the season finale of Death in Paradise, I hope they’ll show something good after this but that channel tends to keep their programs fore decades and can’t figure out why people don’t watch the channel any more πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I think this might have been taken with an Agfa Ambiflex or perhaps an Agfa Colorflex.

Have a great day!

Β

Β

It felt much colder this morning even though it actually was slightly warmer, or less cold is better because there was no warmth what so ever πŸ™‚ Β It was a bit cloudy when we went out on our morning walk so the cold air stayed and the moose flies weren’t near.

Bittersweet berries.

At least one moose fly did wake up when the sun finally showed itself, that fly is no more πŸ™‚ I think it walked over to my hand while I was lifting some branches to pick a mushroom, still cold so it was pretty easy to get rid of it. We walked down to the creek and followed it up-streams and there’s definitely a beaver living in the creek again. The water level was pretty high and since we’ve had little rain it shouldn’t be possible to have that much water there unless the creek is blocked. They have placed materials to build a trap so I guess it won’t be long until we have no beavers here again.

The sun really made the day so much nicer so I’ve finally planted the last two Quince tree seedling, I now have six of them but this is a bit tough climate wise so I’m not even sure if any of them will manage through winter. It all depends on if winter will continue to behave as it has for several years now or if we’ll get a “normal” winter again, very cold and very long. Most likely it won’t be like the old days though but we’ll not know until next year.

I’ve also continued to cut down that huge rose with all the small but plentiful thorns. It’s not because I don’t like it, I do and it gives the birds lots of rose-hips to eat during winter. It is because this rose is seen as an invasive species and it might soon be illegal to have it anywhere. I actually have two of it and both have become huge during the 25 years I’ve lived here. So I’m slowly cutting it away but will leave some so if it isn’t banned it can grow back again πŸ™‚ I might remove the other one totally because even if it is big it still has problems because of other invasive plants I have πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea and I’m waiting for a bread to be ready to be picked out of the oven. I might have a slice or two with the tea but I really should eat the last piece of the bread I still have, then again a warm slice of newly baked bread with strong cheese is a good excuse to wait and use the last bread tomorrow morning instead πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!
