We’ve had such a nice day today. It was warmer already at 5 am than it has been previous days and it was also wind free in the beginning. The wind arrived pretty soon but it was a lukewarm wind so I can’t complain about that. The sun rise late now though so it took its time before we could have a walk. The sign that they are out hunting is still up so I’m pretty sure they’ve just forgotten to pick it down.

I don’t take any risks though so we walked on the same road we did two days ago. The first part is on the village road and two days ago Alma was a bit too much, yesterday just too much and today she actually behaved really well. She does calm down pretty good as soon as we left the road and the houses behind us.

The sun still shines and even though 12C (53,6F) perhaps not is something one calls warm the sun helped to make the walk really pleasant. we didn’t see any wildlife but plenty of cattle and none of the dogs really care about them 🙂 I started to clean out the greenhouse this afternoon because it has been cold enough lately to kill all the tomato plants. I did however leave the Litchie tomato plants where they were, I really didn’t want to feel all those thorns sting me all over my body today 🙂 🙂 🙂

It was a bad year for any kind of squash/ pumpkin plant this summer, I barely had any female flowers on them. I did however get one squash and one spaghetti pumpkin. I cut up the squash to have some for dinner and to my surprise its was quite orange. I thought it was an olds variety I’ve had for years and it’s white inside. What surprised me even more was that it smelled of cantaloupe melon!!?? Didn’t taste anything like it though. So I’ve either done something wrong when ordering the seeds or they’ve put the wrong seeds in the package. No matter which I’ll save some seeds for next year.

So there’s only the Ritchie tomato plants and two Kiwi vines left in the greenhouse. The Kiwis will be covered with burlap during the winter and I hope that’s enough for them to survive. There is also growing lots of weeds in there, they’ve managed to enter the greenhouse from beneath it. So lots of Foxgloves, some grass and a stinging nettle 🙂

It is time for a cup of tea and perhaps a sandwich or two as well. The sun will set in less than an hour so I’ll join the dogs in the garden for a while before it becomes dark again.
Have a great day!
