Really nice fog this morning.

We had thick fog here this morning when I woke up and since it was fairly warm I guessed it wouldn’t stay for especially long, so I was in no hurry to go out for our morning walk. I realised after a while that it didn’t evaporate at all so out we went. Fog is after all my second favourite kind of weather πŸ™‚ There Monster decided that she would follow us so instead of going down to the creek as I had planned we went out to the bog. I don’t want to risk her getting bored or tired on the way and stop following us that far from the cottage.

Unfortunately it seems that it is also a favourite weather for ticks so every now and again we stopped on our walk so I could go through the dogs and release them from those pests. This dry weather we’ve had has kept another pest away from us, the slugs. There’s a lot of snails but they usually don’t eat anything else than dead materials, like leafs or dead plants, so the haven’t been any problem at all.

The dogs allowed me to sleep until 5am today, a bit late for me to wake up but I’ve still been really tired today. I think it’s because it has been a bit too warm in the bedroom. So tonight I’ll have a window open through the night and if it should start to rain it usually don’t get in to the room anyway, that only happens when we have thunderstorms. I’ve seen thunderclouds passing by but none of them payed us a visit.

They say we’ll have rain this coming week and we do need it so I won’t complain. It’s a rather big difference here in the garden to how dry it is in different places. It is as most dry on the south side of the garden, where the greenhouse stand but on the north side behind the cottage the ground is actually anything but dry. The sun shines just as much on that side as it does on the south side and still the difference is huge and I have no idea why πŸ™‚ At least I don’t have to water anything there so that’s a huge plus πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I think I might have an ice cream at the same time but before that I better go and open that bedroom window so the worst heat flows out through it. It is quite nice to go to bed while hearing the different insects buzzing in the lilacs just outside πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

I thought that picture of Sarah rolling on the ground was some kind of bird. It took me a couple of seconds to unravel it. The one of her on the road is lovely. She is a striking cat. Also, I did find the roe deer.

We had horrible weather this past weekend. Saturday was dark, cold, rainy, and very windy. It didn’t get above 50ΒΊF. And then there was the exploding meteor. Huge sonic boom that was heard all over the northeast. It landed in Cape Cod Bay and, if it’s magnetic, someone might be able to salvage pieces of it. If there are pieces.

The snake has not been seen since Friday and it looked pretty bad. I think it was about to shed its skin because it was very dull instead of shiny green and yellow as it should be. I hope it found someplace protected because it was definitely not snake weather.

My lawnmower is mostly dead. The batteries won’t hold a charge and nobody knows how to change them. The grass is very happy about it as are the ticks. 😦

      Hi Caryn!

Sorry about taking such a long time before answering but I still don’t have any routine how to use my afternoon after work πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It’s fun when the eyes and brain just refuse to understand what one sees πŸ™‚ She is beautiful our little monster πŸ™‚

I read about that meteor, I wonder how long it will take before there are lots of boats out there trying to find it πŸ™‚ They’re usually worth a lot of money so I’m pretty sure people will look for it. We’ve had a very mixed weather here, lots of sunshine but also lots of clouds. The rain they always say will come rarely does though, we have gotten some today but not even close to enough. Warm all the time though, Scandinavian warm that is πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I guess the snake just moved in under some of the vegetation. They do look rater sad when they are shedding the skin.

Too bad about the batteries and to find new ones are usually more expensive than to buy a new mower. I have an electric with cord and I’ve earned that in the long run it’s rather expensive to buy new cords as well >:-) πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Yes the nasty ticks love the high grass, to be honest I think my dogs pick up more ticks from the high grass in the garden than what they do when we’re out walking.

There was a lot of chat on FaceBook the day after from people who said they were going meteor fishing. NASA (or someone like them) has already said it’s going to try to recover the meteor. It turns out that it only exploded a little bit so, if that’s true, it’s a big space rock indeed.

I bought a super duper weed whacker with wheels. It came yesterday. I spent an hour putting it together and it turned out to be horrible. The first time I turned it on, the cutting blade flew off. Fixed that. Tried it again. VERY LOUD. Louder than a lawnmower! Also there was heavy vibration to the point that it was uncomfortable to hold. Prolonged use would be detrimental to my ears and nerves. I’m sending it back and just buying another lawn mower.

No worries about taking a long time to answer. I just got back here myself. πŸ˜€
