Cold night but no moose.

It’s really annoying because they’ve changed things here on WP and not for the better I’m afraid, now I need to re-learn how to put in photos here in the post and I don’t like it. Before I had a bar above what I wrote where I easily could just press a media button and then download photos, now I have to search for where I can do it in another way. I really don’t get what they think changing everything all the time helps! I also realised that I now have quite a lot of extra steps to get the photos to show beneath each other, if I don’t do that I get a sort of collage that I don’t like at all.

Anyway, they said the temperature wouldn’t fall below 0C (32F) during the night so of course it did 🙂 This time I had put three layers o0n the plants in the greenhouse so they managed to go through the night without any damages. The thing that really annoyed me is that I repotted the two Kaki seedlings and the pawpaw seedling. I placed the Kaki in the greenhouse but forgot to do the same with the Pawpaw. It took over a year before that seeds started to grow so I really hope it wasn’t damaged by the night frost!! I guess I’ll know in a couple of days.

same problem how to dress this morning 🙂 So I chose to walk in the sunshine from the beginning while it still felt rather cold in the air and then on our way home we walked mostly in shadow so it wasn’t too hot when wearing a fleece sweater 🙂 No surprise moose meeting this time though 🙂

One of my neighbours kids had been puking all night so they were at home today, so I’ve had a long discussion with the three year old about what a thick stick is 🙂 She tried to give the dogs tiny twigs but they just didn’t care out them, so I showed her what kind of sticks they like. The thing was that every time she showed me a new stick it was even a bit smaller. It took me a while to understand that she was joking with me 🙂 🙂 🙂 I noticed a little mischievous smile when I for the hundredth time said no it’s too small 🙂 🙂 🙂

Besides that I haven’t done much, I’ve sown a few seeds and have taken cuttings from the two geraniums I brought back from my friend in the garden center. So I feel that it is time to make a pot of tea and perhaps a French roll with spotted sausage, cheese and a couple slices of orange bell pepper.

Three different layers last night and since they say it won’t be close to frost during coming night I’ll do the same today 🙂

    I shudder in fear every time they improve software!

    it’s that time of year when it vacillates between hot and cold. I planted my tomatoes and peppers, so of course the weather cooled down. 🙄

    I hhave an elevated bed in the community garden, and they added soil to the top. So my seedlings, planted after the soil addition, look sad. I guess it was poor soil, so i need to add amendments. My seedlings in my home garden are nice and strong.

    I nneed to go water the plants at the giving garden greenhouse. Even though it has cooled off, the plants use a lot of water!

      Hi Carol!

      I hate when they do that!!! I can’t understand why they feel the need to fix things that works good as it is?

      I still have most of my tomato plants in the kitchen and will wait a bit longer to put them outside because the coming week will be much cooler again.
      I emptied the big compost by two thirds earlier so I’ve had plenty but now I might need to buy more soil again, one can never have too much soil at home 🙂 🙂 🙂
      It is amazing how much water the plants need even if it is cooler, lots of people will have problems this year because some counties here already have watering bans. We’ve had unusually dry years for a while now and it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon I’m afraid.

    I think I started my WP blog in late 2007 or early 2008. I use an ancient template that has been long grandfathered, and I’m afraid to update it because I fear losing well over 1,000 posts. WP has “simplified” functions over the years, but I’ve always somehow managed to keep it in “classic” mode and continue posting the same way. I know what I do is too complicated, and it’s not very flexible, but it’s what I learned and I’m comfortable with it.

    I also only post from a computer, never my phone. Wouldn’t know how to to post from the phone. But I take photos on the phone, email them to myself, download them, crop or do whatever they need for cleanup, then post them to the blog. See what I mean about complicated?

    I also had to start a YouTube channel as a holding place for videos I take of the cats because it was the only way I could figure out how to get my videos embedded to play in a WP post.

    I did a post this week with an image and a video and nothing had changed, so I guess WP improvements have somehow managed to pass by me again.

      Hi catsworking!

      I think I’ve had my blog here on WP since then too. I can’t understand why they always feel the need to fix things that aren’t broken?! I’ve always used the classic mode but then suddenly I could only use it in the editing mode and yesterday it was totally gone!!! I do hope You still can use it because it is actually much smarter! I also only use the computer when it comes to the blog, my phone hates me and always change all the words from English to Swedish 🙂 🙂 🙂

      I rarely post phone photos here just because of that 🙂

      I also have a Youtube channel but it was a long time since I used it, and I also started it just because it was the only way I could post videos here 🙂

    What I find on your blog is that I’m unable to like any comment unless I first post a comment myself. I don’t know if you can see where I tried to like something and it just doesn’t show up on my screen.

    I’ve never changed my template from the original, and I think that may be why my functionality has stayed the same. You changed your template some months ago, so maybe the updates were tied to that.

    I responded to a comment on my blog yesterday morning and my dashboard was still working the same, so no changes yet. Yes, they have made little tweaks over the years, but nothing as radical as seems to be happening to you. I think they want to dumb it down so people can do posts from their phones on the fly. But that’s not how my blog rolls. My posts are essays, like yours, not little snippets.

      That happens to other people too but I can see the likes here. Really strange behaviour on WP but that thing has been like that for ages.

      I’m glad it still works as it should on Your blog and let’s hope it stays that way, I haven’t liked a single change they’ve done to me end my blog. I guess You can be right about the change coming with the template.

      They like snippets now days but I have Bluesky for that 🙂
