My neighbours keep finding the Monsters old collars in their garden, this one has been lost for at least six months 🙂
The night was much colder that I thought it would be, it was -7C (19,4F) when we went out on our morning walk and I could see that my neighbour had had to scrape ice from the car. I think everything froze, especially all the different cherry flowers and the cherry plum flowers. I had covered everything in the greenhouse as well and still both tomato plants froze, two out of four bell pepper plants and a few other things as well. The tomato plants were just a test since I have too many as it is anyway but as long as the roots still are alive they’ll most likely produce new stems. The two bell peppers however are screwed 🙂 🙂 🙂

Mornings like this makes it difficult to dress because just before we left for our morning walk the temperature in the sunshine had risen to 28,5C (83,3F) but it was just as cold as before in the shadow 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I had to chose between feeling warm when walking in the shadow but boiling in the sunshine or not boiling in the sunshine but freezing badly when walking in the shadowy forest 🙂 🙂 I have less problem with the freezing part so I chose that 🙂 🙂 We saw a few deer on our walk and I think the dogs might have seen a squirrel because they were suddenly very excited when we passed the place where we sometimes see one of them 🙂

When we passed the old stable on our way home a certain monster was trying to get close enough to a wagtail (bird) so she could catch it and she was anything but happy about us arriving just as she was about to make the jump 🙂 For a split second I could see how angry she was but then suddenly she turned her head and yawned biggly to make sure we would think that bird meant nothing to her 🙂 🙂 What she doesn’t know is that the Wagtails have been here nesting for as long as there has been a stable there and the stable has been standing there for over 100 years, so they sure know how to handle a cat 🙂 🙂 🙂

Even though we’ll have another cold night tonight I’ve been sowing seeds in the ground today. Something needs to grow where the old thorns rose grew so why not use it for vegetables? I found some old squash seeds, some new leek seeds, carrot seeds and I also just put down some tomatillo seeds just because 🙂 I’m not a big fan of tomatillo but got those seeds as bonus seeds and thought why not. After I had watered them all I covered the area with ground cloth so since we’ll have lots of sunshine the ground will stay warm enough during nights so they don’t get destroyed by frost. I might need to get more ground cloth because I have lots of small broccoli plants I need to put out and some other kind go cabbage relative, It is called Hon Tsai Tai and I have absolutely no idea what it might taste like 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day nd I think I’ll have the last of the ice cream I bought last Friday 🙂

Have a great day!
