Warm weather is on the way.

Yesterday was horrid, nasty cold and strong winds directly from the arctic and cloudy almost all day. Not even the dogs wanted to be outside for more than a few minutes at a time. I had turned off the radiator in my bedroom so I woke up freezing in the middle of the night because the dogs had moved away from me but they are easily persuaded so instead of having to get up and start the radiator I made them jump up in the bed beside me 🙂 🙂

Today was much better even though the wind we had was just as cold but since we had almost no clouds the heat from the sun was just enough to make the day feel much warmer. I moved out two tomato plants to the green house yesterday just to see how they would manage a cold night, I have way too many tomato plants so I thought that I just as well could try them. They did look really fine this morning so if the temperature just drops a little below 0C (32F) they’ll survive. They will stop growing for a while but they will survive.

I have now cleaned up the area where the rose grew and also made wood chips from all the branches. I wasn’t sure what to do with all the chips though but decided that the best thing would be just to spread them outside where the rose had grown. It’ll take a while before any grass will grow through but that doesn’t matter really. While I was working with that both Alma and Malkolm decided that it would be nice to rest on all the tiny garlics I had replanted 🙂 🙂 The garlic did look rather sad for a while but I think they’ll manage to get back again 🙂

We’ll have a couple of chilly days and nights now (this time of year a chilly day is around 10C , 50F, and nights below 0C ,32F) but they’re now guessing it’ll rise up to 20 C (68F) on Thursday and the coming days and nights well over 0C (32F) and I do hope they’re right. Also it will stay sunny as well 🙂 Still we do need rain but it looks like it won’t happen the coming ten days. So I’ll start putting out all seedlings I have in my cottage from Thursday morning and then start sowing more things 🙂 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day, yesterday and the day before I drank so much tea that I had to get up twice each night, what comes in must go out 🙂 🙂 so not more than one cup this time 🙂

I’ll plant a bush cherry in that corner now when the rose is gone but I still need to remove the rest of the rose outside the fence I’m afraid.

Have a great day!
