Nice thick fog :-)

We woke up to a foggy world and the weather reports said fog all day long. I knew the hunters wanted to hunt for hare today but guessed since it was so foggy that they wouldn’t. It is really difficult to cook hare so it actually is edible so to sit in fog not being able to see what they hunt would be a waste of time and also if they would shoot anything it could just as well be their hunting dog. It happens way too often and beside traffic it is actually hunters that are responsible for killing more dogs than any wildlife would do.

Still they came for some reason and stayed for much longer than normal so I was quite annoyed the whole time πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They sort of destroyed our morning just by coming here and make us have to stay at home. Yes I could go out but why risk ones life for not being able to take a walk in the early morning πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They did however leave before the sun set so we did manage to have a walk anyway. For a couple of times it even looked like the sun would make an appearance anyway, it was close but never happened.

I sat Β in front of the tv watching Tangled and suddenly remembered that when I was a child we had all those storied the Grim brothers had written down (and H.C. Andersens stories as well) I read them so often that they in the end fell apart. So I went online and now a book with all stories written down by the Grim brothers is on its way home to me πŸ™‚ Those stories usually don’t have the happy endings Disney show us and it’s the same with H.C. Andersens books, the little mermaid has a horrible ending but I guess it wouldn’t be a great thing to show in a children’s story now days πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I really need to find Andersens stories too πŸ™‚

I’ve had lots of christmas leftovers today and still managed to squeeze down lots of rice porridge πŸ™‚ I’ll have the rest of the porridge as breakfast tomorrow. Now however I’ll have that last cup of tea for the day and later on watch On the Tracks on tv. They say we’ll have fog in the morning tomorrow but most of the day will be sunny and warmish πŸ™‚ By the way! Do You remember that I told You about finding two kernels/ seeds in the Kaki fruits (the Asian relative to the Persimmon fruit)? I put them in plastic bags in damp paper and then in to the fridge. Both have managed to germinate! So now I’ve planted them in pots and placed them by the kitchen windows πŸ™‚

Have a good continuing of Yule!

  1. I think the old fairytales were written to scare kids into behaving themselves. They showed what bad things would happen to you if you lied or stole or ran away. They were meant to teach us lessons.

Nowadays, children’s stories are more for pure entertainment, so they have to end happily ever after or the kids will get upset.

  2. I’m speaking only of the United States now. Maybe our kids don’t need fairytales with scary endings anymore because they go to school every day knowing someone could break in and shoot them all dead. And every time they turn on the TV, they see that a monster is living in the White House and running the whole country. They already live in a horror story.

And now they can look forward to getting sick or dying from measles, polio and all sorts of other diseases that vaccines protected us from and we were glad to have them.

When I was a kid, the worst thing we feared was getting bombed by Russia, and teachers told us that hiding under our desks would save us.

    1. Hi catsworking!

I guess You might be right about that, that isn’t a problem we usually have here. We do however have a right wing government supported by our fascist party and even though it moves slowly it still moves towards what You’re having. There is however a big chance that they’ll lose power in our elections next year πŸ™‚

      1. I fully believe that when the U.S. finally finds the courage to remove Trump, probably next year, and probably when all the facts of what he did with Epstein come out, it will cause fascist movements around the world to crumble.

Other countries follow our lead, good or bad. If we overthrow the bad, we set that example, too, and others will be emboldened to follow.

I’m just ashamed it is taking us so long and we are allowing him to destroy so much. He’s nothing but one demented old man with an evil core, yet he’s brainwashed millions.

But I guess they said the same about other horrible dictators throughout history.

      2. The good thing with fascists and nazies is that they can never keep together in the long run, lots of backstabbing and plot planning and eventually they foal apart. Especially if they see that they are loosing ground and their own people will start to complain as well. The only way they can stay in power is to stop elections or keep sure no one ever get to know the real result and that’s what I’m afraid might happen already next year.

      3. Excellent point. Trump’s MAGA movement is already falling apart here. I think the minute he dies, it dies with him because it was always based on worship of Trump and nobody else.

He is trying to take control of elections so Republicans can stay in power forever, but our system of 50 states is such a fragmented mess, it’s not really feasible.

I think good will win in the end. Maybe not in my lifetime, but ultimately.
