Another cold day, the temperature reached 0C (32F) as highest and to be honest that’s not so cold this time of year now days. I remember one year, about 21 years ago when winter started with snow and below freezing temperatures all the time in October and it lasted until early May. Lots of snow as well so that was for me a nightmare winter πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ and I hope it’ll never happen again πŸ™‚

I could hear the wind blowing in the tree tops but it never reached the ground. So even if the sun was hesitant to show itself we still had a nice morning walk, especially since Alma only whines once in a while. Β She pulled the leash like insane some times though but rather that than her high pitched whining. For me that sound is like a fork drawn over a plate would be like for the rest of the world I guess and hearing it constantly on every walk (which lasts at least an hour, often much more) it’s like torture. So days when she only does it every now and again are joyful days πŸ™‚

I got that light chain in the mail today, so I put it up in the spruce with an odd shape. No matter how I do the lights looks really odd πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Still any light is a good light. I’ll take photos tomorrow. I have one in my phone but either I miss something or the transfer of a photo from a phone to an iMac computer is ridiculously complicated. In a PC one just mail the photo to oneself and voila! It’s in the computer easily reach when needed, in an iMac not so unfortunately.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and today they show the weekly science program on tv. I’ve slept badly for a couple of days now because I have gotten pimples on my earlobes πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I didn’t know one could get pimples there but now I’ve learned something πŸ™‚ They hurt like h..l when I rest my head on the pillow. One on each ear so it doesn’t matter on what side I sleep on πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. Never heard of pimples on earlobes either. Very weird. I don’t think the ears have oil glands, which I thought pimples like. Hope they go away quickly.

My problem is canker sores in my mouth. I don’t get them as often as when I was younger, but when one pops up, it’s really painful while it lasts. One doctor said it might be a vitamin B deficiency. I don’t know how much of it I get, or how I get it.

Remembering what you said about your memory foam pillow being so nice, and sick of waking up every morning with a sore neck and shoulders, after much searching and comparing, yesterday I ordered a memory foam pillow that looks like a butterfly, with room on the sides for the arms. It’s supposed to come today, but the reviews on Amazon say it may smell so bad from the factory that it has to air out 3-5 days before it can be used. I hope that’s not true, but we’ll see.

The pillow I currently sleep on is some foam that is supposed to be good for side sleepers, with gel to keep you cool (which doesn’t work at all) but it’s like laying your head on a cinder block. It often wakes me up because my ear pressed against it gets sore. The new pillow has a hole in the middle, so maybe my ear will fit there and have no pressure.

I have built up such high hopes for this new “miracle” pillow solving all my sleeping problems, if it doesn’t perform well, I will feel crushed and hopeless. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi catsworking!

      It’s really odd πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
I used to have canker soars when I lived in Gothenburg when I was constantly stressed but I’ve only had it once since I moved up here over 28 years ago. Stress is one of the things that make them break out and I haven’t been especially stressed since I moved to the countryside πŸ™‚

That sounds great about the memory foam shaped as a butterfly because there really is a problem with no space for the shoulders. It works good for me anyway but I’ll look for that if I need to buy a new one, thanks for the tip!

I actually folded a “normal” pillow, sort of rolled it together so it only supported my neck and had another pillow under it and it worked so great that all neck problems went away. My then dogs however later on chewed it up πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  2. Hi Christer,
A thought occurred to me about the painful pimples on your ear, in case it might help solve the mystery. The pain you described when the pimples rest on your pillow, a pain strong enough to wake you up, made me think of the pain from a virus I had a few years ago. It is a virus that we call β€œShingles” in the US; its medical name is Varicella-Zoster virus and it’s the same virus that causes the childhood illness that we call β€œChicken Pox.”

Here’s some info about Shingles from a very well-respected US medical clinic,

    https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/shingles/symptoms-causes/syc-20353054

Shingles causes a VERY painful rash that resembles clusters of pimples. Though it usually appears on the body, it can appear on the head. If the rash appears near or on eyes or ears it can potentially cause damage to vision or hearing if not medically monitored and treated. I encourage you to consider having the pimples examined by a doctor.

I truly hope this post doesn’t alarm you but I wanted to be sure you would have info that might be appropriately helpful.

    1. Hi Denali Sam!

I haven’t thought of the shingles so I’ll take a better look tonight. The only thing is that it’s just one on each ear πŸ™‚ I have however had chickenpox five times and that’s really unusual but a nurse told me that it could only happen because I have a truly messed up immune sustem, which I actually have πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I need a lot to be alarmed now days πŸ™‚ I have too many things already so one more doesn’t make any bigger change πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
