They say it’ll warm up again.

So another really nice and sunny day but rather cold. I could see the wind power plants up on the mountain moving with the wind but that wind didn’t reach us down on the ground. We walked down to the mostly frozen creek and when we walked out on the field there I saw two White tailed eagles fly up from the ground just 50 meters (much the same in yards) away from us 🙂 I guess they were eating something but I didn’t check what it was 🙂

Instead of following the creek all the way down to the forest we took a turn and crossed the field and walked in to the forest further away. There’s an old road there no one ever use (unless when they cut down the trees) and followed it till the end where we then walked in to the older forest and later to the creek up-streams instead. This is wild hog area but we didn’t see or hear any today. Well I think the dogs might have since they both stared towards a thicket of spruces but that was it.

White tailed eagles.

I thought the water level in the creek would be lower now when we didn’t have any rain or snow but it is actually much higher.

They say that it will turn to warmer weather again already tomorrow and I’ll believe it when it happens. I will miss the dry ground if it’s right but then again I will also feel happy about the warmer air even though it might mean less sunshine. As the saying goes, we can’t have it all unless we are rich enough to travel to where the weather is to our liking of course 🙂 🙂

I haven’t been walking g in this part of the forest in many years, mostly because this is a very swampy area but frozen water is really great to walk on 🙂

I’ve ordered a new wallet, my old one is falling to pieces and I haven’t found any in any store so when I found one on the net I bought it. Younger people now days don’t use wallets, they sort of combine the wallet with their phone case but I really don’t like that. Yes I know I’m old 🙂 🙂 🙂  but I don’t want to lose it all by losing just one thing, like the phone. If I lose the phone I still have my wallet with everything important in it and if I lose my wallet I still have the phone so I can make those calls to stop anyone from using my cards and get a new driving license 🙂

I’ve also ordered Christmas lights for my oddly shaped Korean spruce. If one looks at that spruce it looks like some kind of armchair made in the sixties 🙂 🙂 You know those laid back space inspired ones 🙂 🙂 Well it is the only one I have bog enough so this year I’ll have some outdoor lights. The lights is eleven meters long (much the same in yards) and battery driven. It can either shine all the time or shine for six hour and then start at the same time next day. No one here is outside at night anyway so that will be great. I will of course take a photo of it when the light chain has arrived and dressed around the spruce 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and later today I’ll watch the game show On the Tracks. My oldest brother and I send texts to each other when we think we know the answers, we are usually very wrong 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. Your logic on keeping things separate makes sense to me. There was a time when I had three separate companies for my internet, phone, and cable TV for the same reason. If one didn’t work, the other two would be unaffected. But it became impractical, and now I am a slave to Verizon for everything, so when Verizon FIOS goes down, I’ve got nothing (well, I do have a smartphone with another company that would work if the landline doesn’t).

People can already pay for stuff with their phones so they don’t need credit cards. And I expect phone IDs will eventually be accepted everywhere, so no driver’s licenses. And photos are already on phones. What else would be in a wallet? Cash. Kids probably don’t even know what that is anymore.

So, all anyone will need is a phone, and if they drop and break it or lose it or have it stolen, they are penniless, without identification, and beyond screwed.

    And we call this “progress.”

    1. Hi catsworking!

It does feel safer that way, so that I always can pay if I am buying something and I also have a very limited amount of money on my card and no credit on it so that actually can’t buy much 🙂
I don’t even have a land line any more, I don’t think anyone actually have that now days. Mine was torn down by a digger that had the digging part way up in the air and after that I told them they just as well could remove it. No use getting a bill on something I don’t use any more.

Some stores and shops refuses to take money now days so we really are depending on our phones now and that isn’t good at all! I think phone ID’s is more valued than the normal ones over here, utterly insane if You ask me.

  2. I agree with not keeping my plastic/real money and my ID/license all together in the little wristlet I carry instead of a purse. I hate lugging stuff. Of course the wristlet also has a pocket for the phone so I guess I’m a hypocrite. 😀 Most of the time my phone is either in my back pocket or in my hand because I use it for most things.

These are lovely photos of the frozen wetlands. My wetland is not frozen. It’s just dry. I’ve been able to walk out on it with not much trouble except for trying not to step on the skunk cabbages. There’s a daycare center 3 houses down and their inflatable balls blow into my patch of swamp.

The weather here has been not too bad. The horrible wind has gone for the moment but it has been mostly cloudy. Today is all cloudy with some early rain. The sun poked its head out briefly around lunch. It was unimpressed and went back in.

    1. Hi Caryn!

Some places don’t even accept real money any more but it is nice to have some in the wallet just in case.

It’s still really dry here, the dogs and I went out on the bog and the only water I could find there was the frost that had melted now when it is getting warmer again, we didn’t even sink down anything when walking in the most wet spots and that is very unusual.

No sun today but I could see it through the clouds a couple of times. My brother said the wind blowed badly where he lives but not here thankfully 🙂
