Normally or perhaps back in the days we would have winter now, mostly the temperatures would stay way below 0C (32F) at nights and barely reach above it if it even managed to do that. To be honest, I don’t miss it at all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I know the greenhouse effect and climate change is anything but good for us but I must admit that I like these warmer days and nights.

I can’t tell You how warm it has been today because the battery died in the thermometer πŸ™‚ A new battery in today so I’ll know what it is like tomorrow πŸ™‚ They are however guessing that it might reach above 12C (53,6F) and it will stay like that until at least Friday. No sunshine though but cloudy and a bit rainy. With the sun shining it would have been t-shirt weather in my garden πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I went to the supermarket today and I saw a heard with Red deer not too far from the road and on my way home here in the village a young Fallow deer buck crossed the gravel road just in front of me. I saw it early so there was no risk of me hitting it with the car thankfully. Normally it is suicidal cats that cross the road way too close to the car so it was nice to see something else for once πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

This time of year is when I normally feel the Christmas feelings just to see them go away some time in the middle of December πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Not so far though, I guess I was annoyed enough to see a big Yule gnome (or Santa) standing by the entrance to the supermarket already in the middle of October. Personally I can’t understand those people who start with any holiday two months before it happens, I usually get tired of it after a week or two.

I’m not a Christmas present guy at all but I usually buy myself a present this time of year, something I really want but perhaps normally wouldn’t buy, not because it is expensive but because I really don’t need it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ One year I bought myself a Hasselblad camera for my birthday, I really didn’t need any camera since I do have way too many as it is anyway but I wanted to spoil myself with something πŸ™‚ Today I think I have around 60 cameras, both for film and digital ones πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ To be fair, most of them pretty cheap, like an over a hundred years old Kodak camera that I bought for less then $ 3 US πŸ™‚ It still works perfectly.

I have an idea about what I would like to buy this year even though I should be careful with money since I still am unemployed. So I will have to think a lot more about it before deciding. I’ll be just as happy at Christmas without it just as long as it doesn’t snow and is cold πŸ™‚ The last cup of tea for the day is standing beside me and after that there’s a science program on tv I want to watch πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. It’s nice of the deer to give you plenty of stopping room. I’ve had a couple of white tail deer try to surprise me but I saw them coming up onto the road and yelled out the window “DON’T YOU DARE!” and they ran back down. Usually it’s the suicidal squirrels and chipmunks that run in front of the car. The squirrels run straight out but then just before they reach the other side they often change their minds and run back. Almost never a good decision. The chipmunks run with their tails straight up in the air. They remind of the dodgem cars at the fair.

Yesterday was lovely and sunny and it was almost T-shirt weather on my front steps. Saturday was fine, too except for the vicious winds. They’ve calmed a bit. Today was dark and damp and cool. It’s supposed to rain tonight but it is November and that’s what it does.

    1. Hi Caryn!

Yes it is πŸ™‚ but even ig it hadn’t we I drive so slow on the gravel road that I most likely would have been able to stop before hitting it πŸ™‚ I will however try Your approach next time πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
Perhaps they should shape the dodgem cars like chipmunks πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I recognise that behaviour from our squirrels too, I’ve always wondered why they do like that?

Pretty calm here and even though it actually is quite warm it’s still boring here, no sunshine and every now and a agin rain passes by. Back in the days it snowed here in November so I must say I prefer the rain after all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  2. Hitting a deer would have been a disaster for the deer and your car, so happy to read that didn’t happen, Christer. Here in NH, we have many moose crossing signs on highways and other roadways, but have never seen any. In a way, that’s a good thing as they are a large animal.

Yes, the Christmas season is started way too early here as well. And, for me, it should wait until late November after our Thanksgiving holiday is over. Buying presents for yourself is a good thing and we do it as well. You do have a lot of camerasπŸ˜€

    1. Hi Beatrice!

Well in this speed I’m not so sure. My car would have gotten a dent and as long as the deer didn’t injure its legs I’m pretty sure it would only have become slightly embarrassed πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I like to see moose in a safe distance but hitting a moose even in slow speed would be bad for both the car and animal. They are truly huge and if I remember it right the American moose is even bigger than ours.

I totally agree with You, late November as earliest!

I’ll get what I want if I buy the present myself πŸ™‚ and I’m totally sure it won’t be a camera if I buy myself a present πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
