I was a bit stressed today and the wolves have returned they say.

Tomatoes hanging to ripen on both sides of the window.

Really nice day, weather-wise that is, cold in the morning but we’ve had sunshine all day so even if the temperature didn’t sky rocket it still was very pleasant in the garden.

Fir the first time in ages I saw three moose running across the fields, one bull, one cow and one calf.

What did stress me out quite a lot is that my mobile suddenly went in to secure mode so lots of important apps stopped working (oddly enough I still could go in to Bluesky πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ) I don’t know how it is in the rest of the world but over here we need our Bank Id every time we buy anything online or even just need to visit authorities online. So if that doesn’t work (it was shut off by the phone) we can’t do anything really. Also we have a pay system called Swish so we can pay via that in stores or just send over money to other people, could that be the same sort as venmo perhaps?

No matter how I followed instructions the phone just refused to let it go. So I checked online via my computer and then I saw the problem, if the volume button is in any way stuck (mine was since that day I dropped my phone and it hit a stone, so I always had maximum volume πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ) so after spraying 556 and sort of twisting the phone, don’t know how to describe it in another way, the volume button finally loosened up and all apps came back πŸ™‚ Now however the volume changes depending on what mood the phone is in, sometimes really loud and sometimes no volume at all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

So with a slight anxiety I went online again and to my favourite site when it comes to used electronics and bought a “new” phone. I really didn’t check what it was but it was the first phone that said it works on 5G πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I went back after and I have bought a Samsung Galaxy 53 and payed with shipping $235 US. A lot of money but still not compared to what any new phone would cost here. It is in pristine condition the ad says and this site has never lied about anything before so I doubt they have started now. Anyhow before all this happened my new hedge trimmer arrived today, not as expensive as the phone but not far behind, arrived today. Not many safety instructions but a few were crystal clear. If one is a pregnant woman, drunk, a child or a mental health patient one isn’t allowed to use the trimmer πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Really where do they get these ideas from? Also shortly after I had ordered it I got a mail where they told me they had approved of me buying one? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Sort of like accepting me in to a cult or a very exclusive club πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Also I haven’t seen the Monsterkitten today and that worries me, she’s usually working like a clock. I do hope she’s just out on an adventure and will come back tonight or tomorrow. The dogs are looking for her as well. I’ve checked that I haven’t locked her in anywhere and also been to my neighbours garage just in case she’s been there. They are now saying a wolf might hang around here again, my dogs haven’t shown any signs that they’ve noticed any wolves but if we’re unlucky the monster might have met it.

This flower covered the entire flowerbed outside the kitchen and since I didn’t see more than one bumblebee all day I ripped them up. They spread like weeds so I’ll have plenty next year again.
I found three more pots with plants in beneath them today (yesterday I found yet another potted quince seedling) It is two roses and one hardy hibiscus. They are now the first habitants in the greenhouse πŸ™‚

It is time for a cup of tea and a slice or two from the just out of the oven bread πŸ™‚ Tonight I’ll nit just check for badgers in the garden, I’ll also check for wolves πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. How do you check for wolves? Here we have coyotes and indoors cats! I like the b&w photos. And I hope Monster is home be time you read this.

    Cheers!

  2. Hi Carol!

Well tracks on the ground fur stuck in the vegetation, eventual leftovers from their hurts and looking at how the dogs behave. My dogs do not like the smell of wolves. Also if tjere are lots of deer in open spaces, they want to be able to see if any wolf is coming towards them.

When checking from the garden in the dark though it’s using the flashigt looking for reflection from their eyes.

Yes the monster is finally back and very hungry πŸ˜„ she will not go out again until tomorrow.

It was fun to take black and white photos for once.

  3. Christer, I really liked the b&w images and know you have me thinking that I should do more of this type of photography. It’s so easy to do in camera or afterwards. Interesting to read about and see the moose images as we live in New Hampshire and despite seeing moose signs have never seen a moose in the 12 years of living here, maybe one day.

Glad that Sara has returned home safely.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

I tend to think like that too but sort of never comes around to it πŸ™‚ It’s so easy today really, just adjust the camera with a few clicks and then one photographs in black and white πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Then again autumn is so colourful so it would be a shame not to show it πŸ™‚

As long as one see them in fields they are ok, unfortunately too many see them just before hitting them with their car.

Yes it was so nice to have her back in the cottage again, one and a half day and the first thing she did was to eat and then she wanted to go outside again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Well I refused to open the door for her so she was a bit grumpy for a long time πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  4. So glad to hear Sarah is home safely. I never let my cats outside because I would be a nervous wreck. My late parents’ cat Tater Tot was a stray as an adult (and got pregnant), so she’s the only one of the four who has any experience.

If your hedge trimmer had instructions from the U.S., in addition to all those you listed as precautions, it would say, “Do not use in a bathtub full of water,” and “For external use only,” because someone probably showed up in a hospital emergency room once with a hedge trimmer stuck up their butt.

You made me think about something. I have Venmo on my phone and have only used it to pay someone or for someone to pay me for something. I don’t know if it can be used in stores. I’ve never seen it done. I know we have a thing called Apple Wallet where iPhones can be used to pay for things in stores, but I’ve never seen anyone do that, either. I don’t think we are as advanced as Sweden, at least not around here in Virginia.

    1. Hi catsworking!

It is nice to have her back πŸ™‚ I do wonder what she had been up to, perhaps climbing up too high in a tree? She’s now back to her normal routine and wants to go outside as soon as we wake up (if she has stayed indoors at night) or wants to go inside if she’s been outdoors all night πŸ™‚

No such instructions as You describe πŸ™‚ So it’s not made for the American market it seems πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ People do the most odd things so I would not be surprised if anyone actually tried that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Some stores do not accept real money at all any more, insane because what happens if the system breaks down? We are now so dependent on our phones that if something happens we might shut down totally. I can see why they won’t accept real money though because the risk of getting robbed the old fashioned way is gone by doing so.
