A sort of meh weather today, mostly cloudy with the sun peeking through the clouds every now and again. It has been warm though so I really shouldn’t complain. Our morning walk was rather late today just because I hoped the sun would show itself more later in the day.
Instead I drove to the big grocery store in Falköping to get what I need for the weekend, nothing much really but cat food was a must 🙂 It’s not that I don’t have any at home but more because she demands the cheapest brand there is, for some reason she loves that wet food and who am I to complain that it is cheap 🙂 🙂 🙂 I had to stop at the grocery store in Gudhem on my way home because I had two parcels waiting to be picked up. The small one was a camera I’ve bought myself as a birthday present (Nikon D5200), nothing special with that camera more that I can turn the little screen at the back in almost any direction I want. So much easier to photograph something on the ground when I don’t have to lie down to get a nice photograph. I just turn have the camera close to the ground, turn the screen so that I can see what I’m photographing and take the photo 🙂
The other parcel was more interesting, it was actually another camera that my eldest brother gave me as a birthday gift 🙂 It is the camera shown in the first photo 🙂 It is a TLR camera (for film) As You can see there are two lenses on the camera. The upper one is the one you look through and the lower one is the one taking the photo. A bit expensive as a gift but I would be an idiot if I didn’t accept it :-):-) 🙂 As You can see there’s also a second lens pair beside it and that’s a telephoto lens. not too common for these old cameras to have that. It weighs a ton so It is perhaps nothing one just hang over the shoulder when going out for a walk, the shoulder would be needed to be adjusted after that 🙂 🙂 🙂
It hasn’t rained today and the grass was surprisingly dry so after the walk I cut down those trunks from the plum trees, they really don’t look that big but they were so heavy that I almost wasn’t able to move them away 🙂 🙂 If I’ve been handy and known how to carve I would have had plenty to work with when they have dried up 🙂
It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and I’ll also have an ice cream at the same time.There’s absolutely nothing to watch on tv tonight. I remember when I was a kid, You know back in the Stone Age, that Friday and Saturday night were family tv nights. When everyone in the family gathered in front of the tv, perhaps having sodas/coffee and something nice to eat. Not so any more and I sort of miss it even if it only be me and my dogs sitting there. The monster would perhaps join us but she would only sleep in the sofa anyway 🙂 🙂

The Cottage by the crane lake. 
We have a mystery squash in the garden. It should have either been a pumpkin or a Kuri squash, but its some green striped thing. It must have been a rogue seed in the packet. I did not plant many seeds this year and really did not invest effort into soil prep, so we have nothing for decorative pumpkins.

Sometimes those seeds are open pollinated with means that if there grows other pumpkins/ squashes nearby they might cross pollinate each other. They usually keep them far apart but some bees are more persistent than others 🙂 🙂 🙂 The seeds I have came from a something I’ve grown myself and I can’t for my life remember what it might have been 🙂 🙂 🙂
I am enjoying them 🙂 and yes I have lots of cameras now days, I think it might be up to sixty, both digital and analog, at the moment 🙂 🙂 🙂

I have a Mamiya camera too ! Mine is a C220, I bought it very long ago and I have made nice photos with it. Unfortunately it doesn’t work any more.

Nice photos from the Nikon! I got rid of my Sony which had exposed out screen that could move to some extent, but not like that. Plus it was too small for my bad eyes 👀 oh well. I guess the TLR would usually require a tripod.

I still isn’t totally happy about how it works but it is just some adjustments I need to do on the camera, after that I’ll be very happy about it 🙂
Yes Sony had a different kind but it still did what I would it to do, not having to lie down on the ground to take the photo 🙂 🙂
Lots of Sony cameras do feel too small but then again they can usually fit in a pocket and that isn’t bad when they are as advanced as they are.
Yes it will help bringing the tripod but then one has to carry even more things 🙂 🙂 I had it with me on the morning walk today and had it in a camera bag, my shoulder didn’t feel nice after being out for an hour or so 🙂 🙂 🙂 I like it a lot though!

Unfortunately they do give up sooner or later but it ca be as easy as the grease in the camera is just too old and have become hard so the moving parts in the camera can’t move. I have a few of those cameras now days. I rarely see TLR Mamiyas so I’m really happy about this one, I read reviews on all those Mamiya TLR’s and all had only good reviews but almost all said they were soo heavy 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ve already started to use it 🙂

Belated Happy 🎂 Birthday and what wonderful birthday presents, Christer, and good for treating yourself to one of them. The camera your brother sent is beautiful and newer ones are not made as well, more plastic than metal. I was wondering about the range of the telephoto lens. As another person commented, a tripod would be a good idea and I can image this camera on one doing photo shoots in a studio. Years ago, I used a Yashica TLR but have never owned one of these type cameras. Hope that you will be able to get film for it…220?

Yes I really like that old camera, heavy as it is 🙂
The technique in newer cameras hold better than the old ones though, a new camera today can take 150 000 photos before it needs repairs and I doubt any old, except for perhaps a Hasselblad camera, lasted for that long. I do like these old cameras better anyway.
Yes I can always bring a tripod but then it would just mean I’ll have even more to carry since I almost never take photos indoors.
120 film, they don’t do the 220 any more. Plus there must be an adjustment on the camera so one can switch from 220 to 120 because the paper rolled together with the 120 film takes so much space that it makes a big difference to how much the camera needs to wind the film to get to the right place.

Belated happy birthday, Christer.
That is a lovely camera and a generous older brother. You could try a monopod with it. Two less legs to carry and it does help a lot. The Nikon camera takes good photos. My Sony A57 had one of those very moveable screens. It flipped down all the way so that it was below the camera. It could rotate in the dropped position. I could take photos of the underside of flowers without having to lie on the ground. It was a blessing for my not very bendable knees. 😀

I have two lightweight tripods so no need for a monopod. Still carrying that one and the camera at the same time as having the dogs with me will most likely be a bit much 🙂 🙂 🙂
This one is moved to the side but otherwise much like Your old one. Perfect when one doesn’t know if one will be able to get up again 🙂 🙂 🙂 That was actually the only reason I bought that camera, getting older sometimes just suck 🙂 🙂 🙂 plus it is easier to stay reasonable dry on rainy days 🙂 🙂 🙂
