Lots of rain and I like it :-)

I always take a test photo when we’re going out for our walks and it is usually this one πŸ™‚

It has been raining all night and almost all day since I went to bed yesterday night.but there was a moment when it didn’t early this morning so the dogs and I went out for our morning walk. Didn’t last for long though before the misty rain arrived and later on just before we arrived at home we had heavy showers πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

We did at least have a walk and despite Alma trying to rip off my arm while passing the new neighbours she behaved really well πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ No screaming at all and only a quiet whining πŸ™‚ I had hoped to see the fox cubs again so I brought a bigger lens but had no such luck plus the misty rain stuck to the glass on the lens like it was velvet Β πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ it was a nice walk though because it looks like misty rain is a mortal enemy to flies as well, almost no flies fly around when we have misty rain, I guess their wings just sticks together when those small droplets fill the air.

I had to save a lot of the potted plants from the rain water today, normally it’s saving them from not getting water but today I had to remove all the plates they stood on because the rain just kept filling them up. I always feel a bit torn placing pots directly on the ground because small red ants tends to move in, small red ants with a good ability to sting and the pain is quite gruesome. Also lots of other animals move in as well and as long as they are outside and those animals can come and of they do no harm but when I bring them in during winter they tend to start eating on the plant because they have no other place to go.

I have also had a long nap, Alma and I took a long nap in one of the sofas and Malkolm decided it was a bit crowded so he had the second sofa to himself. Alma is rather big so I must say it was a bit uncomfortable but we shared that two people sofa rather well to be honest and since the air is a bit damp and cool today it helped me to stay warm πŸ™‚

I really should bake some bread today but I just don’t have the energy to do it. I am rather glad I mowed the lawn yesterday because it would have been impossible for my mower to cut it the next time we have sunny or at least dry weather, it wasn’t exactly pleased to do it yesterday as it was, I hadn’t mowed the lawn in one and a half week and ad water to that and I think it would have died πŸ™‚ I like this mower so I really don’t want to have to buy another one πŸ™‚

Potato flowers are actually quite beautiful.

It is time for a pot of tea and perhaps I will read one of all the books I’ve started to read but never finished πŸ™‚ They are all really good, I just haven’t had the energy to read for quite some time but it feels like that’s slowly changing now πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. My couch is rather narrow, so me and one cat beside me fills the width. In the afternoon, I like to read there while listening to ASMR (sounds of crinkles, swooshes, tapping, very relaxing). ASMR is intended to make you sleep, and it works really well on me.

So, I’ll put my book down and decide to take a little nap. My big black cat Roc comes flying from wherever he is in the house to join me. I don’t know how he knows what I’m doing. (They also also seem to know exactly the second I open my eyes in the morning, even when not in the bedroom, and start bugging me for breakfast.)

If I lie down facing out, he’ll snuggle down behind me and all is well.

But if I lie down facing the back of the couch, he takes the same spot, but now he’s in my face, and he fidgets and turns his head this way and that, suffocating me, for at least 20 minutes before he finally settles down. It really eats into my snoozing time!

    1. Hi catsworking!

My sofas are actually made so that sitting properly is impossible πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They are wicker sofas and were deep so ifI just adjust them they’re like a standing still hammock πŸ™‚ Thankfully I’ve never had any problems falling asleep more than a few times but that’s usually my own fault by napping too much during the day!

Yes that’s a magic ability most animals seems to have, they just know πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Alma can do almost the same but thankfully she usually stays by my feet πŸ™‚ Malkolm never do things like that thankfully because he always sleep beside my head.

  2. The photo of the potato flower reminded me that a rather large sweet potato that I bought recently and didn’t get around to cooking has a big stem with leaves growing out of it. Do I cut off the end its growing out of or just put the whole giant tuber in the ground?

I accidentally discovered that flax seed or flax seed oil taken regularly reduces or eliminates cramps. I was taking it for my nails. It didn’t do anything for my nails but after a few months I realized I wasn’t getting cramps every month anymore and that was great. Would have been even greater if it had done something for my nails, too. I don’t ask for much. πŸ˜€ It’s the omega 3 fatty acids in flax seed. It reduces the strength of the muscle contraction that’s cramping. I guess you have to accumulate a certain ratio of it before it kicks in.

No rain here. It’s been a perfect holiday weekend so far but the heat is coming back next week.

    1. Hi Caryn!

You can actually do both, depending on how many new sweet potatoes You like. They are related to morning glories as You might know so just give it lots of water and sunshine and all will be fine πŸ™‚

Flax seed or the oil? I didn’t know that well I have a day off tomorrow so I’ll see what I can find, must remember to put it on the list though πŸ™‚ To bad it didn’t do anything to the nails though πŸ™‚ Perhaps I’ll by omega 3 capsules instead, sounds easier πŸ™‚

Was supposed to be towards the chilly side here today so I’m not surprised we have had 77F here today and now we have thunder to the south of us, I hope it makes us a visit because I liked the morning when it actually was cool πŸ™‚ It’ll cool and rainy until Thursday when warmer weather is on the way again.

  3. Lovely. I envy you the rain! It’s been dry here, and we’re getting concerned about a long fire season. Dogs know when it’s time for a nap, and they live for it! Mine tries to settle in close to me at the same time I’m trying to settle in, and we struggle to get situated. Once again, your photos are inspiring.

    1. Hi Goodport!

We’ve had lots of it and Moree will come they say and I will not complain about it even though it did start the forest fly season with a bang, so many out there now.

Yes they sure do πŸ™‚ I have an easier time in the evening though, both wait until I’ve laid down and then they take their usual spot, Alma by the legs and Malkolm beside my head πŸ™‚

I’m glad You like them πŸ™‚
