We have winds blowing from the arctic and yesterday it was so cold in the wind that it felt like winter again, out of reach for the wind it was quite ok since the sun shone:-) Today the winds are a bit less cold but strong so it only felt pleasant on the south side of the cottage.
The allergy pills I’m taking are rather good, still sneezing isn’t something it seems to care about 🙂 🙂 also the closer to the evening the more I can feel the magic slowly vanishing. Still much better than without the pills and I’ve only used them for a very short period of time. I’m pretty sure it will feel even better after a week or so.
Nothing has happened here so I have very little to write about. Tonight’s the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Our song made it to the final on Saturday so that’s fun. I won’t watch tonight either because this thing takes quite some time but as I’ve said I’ll watch the big final on Saturday.
It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and I guess it would be nice to have some Digestives with that cup. For those of You who don’t know what Digestives is it is a really tasty biscuit nd goes well together with any kind of cheese or jam or both but is really nice just by itself as well. I won’t have anything on mine because they are already covered on one side with chocolate 🙂

The Cottage by the crane lake. 
Christer, the first photo of that lone violet was awesome and then to fins more purple blooms later in the post. Purple is my favorite color too! Glad to read that the pills are helping you feel better, aside from the sneezing. We continue to have rainy weather and more of the same is coming for this weekend ☔️ The pet closeups were very nice and everyone seemed well behaved to pose for you.

I do like that one too and must admit I was surprised over how well it looks. The purple ones are a weed that spreads really happily but I’ll let it stay because it thrives and flowers in placed few other plants would accept 🙂
Perhaps it helps against sneezing too, haven’t sneezed all day today 🙂
The rain we so desperately need goes either far up north or far down south but then again sunny weather is never wrong 🙂
Well I must be vigilant to get those photos, none of them rarely stand still for more than a few seconds 🙂 🙂 🙂

Since the pollen started here, my eyes have been watering so much, it looks like I’m constantly crying. All it takes is to walk to the mailbox, and they water for hours.
My oak trees make such a mess of the cars (I have two right now, one belonged to my late mother). First, it’s powdery pollen that’s so heavy it turns them yellow. Then these long brown things (seeds?) get into every crack and cranny. I go through a roll of paper towels wiping that junk out from around the trunks, windows and doors, and under the windshield wipers. It looks like fluffy seaweed, but full of tiny seeds.
Then finally comes the sap, which covers everything in a sticky film. I’ve already had the hose out and washed the cars once from the pollen. I couldn’t see through the windows to drive. Now I’ll have to wash them again because the windows are glazed with sap.
Since your biscuits have chocolate on them, I assume they are sweet, so I can see adding jam. But cheese and chocolate? Unless it’s a sweet cheese like I’ve seen in Norway. I think it’s called brunost (brown cheese?). To me it seems more like candy than cheese, since the cheeses I eat most are Swiss, cheddar, Gouda, Parmesan.

There are plain Digestives without a coat of chocolate. They are perfect with savory cheese or a nice jam, as Christer described. I like them just as they are. It’s a very slightly sweet biscuit with a good crumble when you bite into them. They’re perfect as they are with just a cup of tea or coffee. They’re also excellent with hot cocoa. I’m not sure what country you’re in but they’re available in the US and Canada in addition to European countries.

To be honest, they are delicious and my absolute favourites but I must admit that the gluten free I’ve found (excepts for the chocolate covered ones) aren’t as good. But one can make anything tasty with cheese and jam 🙂

For some reason, WordPress doesn’t let me “like” comments on this blog, but I can reply. I’m in the US and we have so many hundreds of what we call “cookies,” I’m sure we have what you describe. One close one is shortbread. It’s plan, but sweet. We also have Italian biscotti, which is good for dunking, but also sweet.

My little oak will not stand close to any cars thankfully, I did have the same problem though but with maples at my previous workplace. Everything got stuck in that sap so the car looked horrible 🙂 🙂 🙂 I don’t think however I ever saw any pollen from those flowers, they are more like normal flowers on the ground. Over here it’s either the birches or the pines that cover our cars when they are as worst 🙂 🙂 Also the birches are the ones who send out millions of their seeds 🙂
I never have anything on the chocolate covered ones, they are as You say sweet as they are but I gladly have both jam and cheese on the plain ones like Denali Sam says 🙂
I do like brown cheese but not too often. I do sometimes have gouda at home but mostly I have strong Swedish ones, they look much like Your Swiss cheese but tastes a bit different. Also there are a couple of Norwegian cheeses I like called Jarlsberg and Baron, unfortunately both are quite expensive but what isn’t these days.

I like Jarlsberg, too, but I’ve never seen Baron. I also like Havarti, which is a creamy white cheese that’s nice in sandwiches. Also Meunster. So many cheeses. I think I eat cheese every day. I love it.
One weird, opular cheese we have that I haven’t bought in years is called Velveeta. It comes in a block. I think it’s quite orange, and it’s probably more chemicals than cheese. It melts very well so it’s good in casseroles or macaroni and cheese. I prefer to use cheeses that I know had cows involved.
And I shouldn’t forget feta cheese, which adds salty flavor!

I had forgotten about Havarti 🙂 It does smell a bit so one autumn when I had bought one I placed it on my balcony (lived in Gothenburg back then) and one day my neighbour said that something must have died on my balcony because its smelled really bad out there 🙂 🙂 Danbo is another Danish cheese that tastes much like Havarti but doesn’t smell that much 🙂 I’ve never tasted Meunster though.
I have seen Velveeta in some commercials here on the net but I have no idea if they sell it over here. I prefer that too 🙂 🙂
