I couldn’t put it off any longer.

It was pretty chilly this morning and the sky was covered with dark grey clouds and it looked like the ground was covered in a fine fog. I didn’t want to got outside if it was cold so our morning walk was delayed for quite some time. It wasn’t that much warmer when we finally did get out but it didn’t take that long before the sun broke through the clouds and after that we’ve had sunshine all day long πŸ™‚

Today I couldn’t postponed it any longer, I had to clean the filters in my grey water sewer. It’s only the water from laundry, shower and the dishes going through there before it is pumped out to the Root zone. The root zone is much like a pond bit filled with sand, gravel and clay and planted with plants that prefers to live in swamps, both flowers (like the Yellow flag) and bulrush and other things. That area is much like a quagmire so one really doesn’t want to sink down into it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

So to be honest there isn’t anything nasty in that water but still the filters and water are quite nasty πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ First from the dogs, dishes laundry dry and me are collected in the filter so after a while it sort of becomes a slow running liquid, it smells nasty in one way but since soap and detergent goes through it sort of smells perfume as well πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Thankfully I have a water vacuum so it is easy to get out of the filter but after that I need to bring it out of the box, brush of what ever sticks to it and then clean it and I can tell You all that one isn’t especially clean after doing that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Waiting for us to finally come home after the morning walk πŸ™‚

Now I don’t have to think about it or do anything about it for another year and I know I’ll drag my feet next year as well just because it’s so nasty. Just think of it as cleaning the shower drainage Β πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’ve also done two batches of laundry so I feel that I’ve done enough for today. Tomorrow I’ll go to the coffin factory for a visit and hope I’ll get the job πŸ™‚ If not for any other reason than to have the title coffin maker πŸ™‚ The only thing is that we don’t use titles here, no Mr, Mrs or Miss. We never say I’m doctor or coffin maker or anything. We always use our first names when talking to other people, even strangers but I would be able to use it when someone asks for what job I have. To say You or trying to use a title when talking to someone is to be rude and insulting here, even kids use the first name of their teachers.

This is the beginning of a greater sea-kale. It is tricky in so many ways when sowing them. Can take two or three years before it germinates and when it does it’s so easy to water it too much so it dies and rots away. As old though it’s tough enough to survive most things.
I thought this giant sequoia was dead after what ever it was (most possibly a certain monster kitten) had chewed off all branches but now it shows new needles πŸ™‚

It is time to have that last cup of tea and after that I’ll see if there’s anything worth watching on tv.

Have a great day!

Well she’s anything but an explorer, she prefers to stay close to the door and sleep in the sunshine. Also Malkolm will not allow her to stray too far πŸ™‚

  1. Love seeing Sarah, the monster kitten πŸ₯°

That is very interesting about the use of first names and not using titles. Although Christer the Coffin Maker would be a fun title!

    1. Hi ppekka!

It happened in the sixties if I remember right. There was this huge CEO who refused to go by title and only used first names and soon everyone followed πŸ™‚ There were even debates about it in the parliament if I remember it right. Titles were mostly used to preserve status and people got tired of that kind of bullying.

I can just use it as hi I’m Christer and I’m a coffin maker πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  2. Those filters do sound like an unpleasant job. Long ago I had a vacuum cleaner that had a water tank which filtered all the dirt from the rugs and floors through water. I loved that vacuum because it really sucked up all the dirt and didn’t respray it all around the house. I didn’t love emptying the sludge out of the water tank. I used to dump it out the back door into what is now Piki’s Poop Yard. Things grow very well out there.

It was a foggy day here until late afternoon when the sun brightened up but did not actually show itself. It was warm and almost muggy outside. Nice for walking around the neighborhood so that’s what we did.

The little quince is just starting to break buds. I was worried because January and February were so cold and windy I thought it might suffer. It did have a decent snow cover for most of that time. The croci have gone by and something ate the flower buds off the mini daffodils. I thought nothing liked them. Apparently some small rodent did.

    1. Hi Caryn!

It’s just nasty but hs to be done πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I have a small carpet cleaner and I guess that’s much the same thing. Works great but that water is purely nasty as well πŸ™‚ I pour that and the filter water (and the yuck) in to my warm compost, the law says I must over here.
I can imagine it grows very well πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Even warmer today after a cloudy morning tomorrow will be even warmer, Thursday almost summer and on Friday winter might return πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Nothing should like daffodils since they are slightly poisonous and slimy inside πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I took a look at my quince and it shows lots of flower buds, last year it showed that as well but then the snow storm at April 4 arrived and no flowers showed after that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  3. I’m glad to hear Sarah stays close to home. I worry about her outside. But maybe Malkolm will be her body guard if she wanders farther away.

I didn’t know that about your use of only first names. In the U.S., some people with doctoral degrees in academic subjects call themselves “doctor.” One example would be former first lady Dr. Jill Biden.

Medical doctors may think nonmedical people using “Dr.” is pretentious because it takes medical doctors many more years of study and residency with grueling work hours to earn the “Doctor” title.

Good luck on your factory tour today. I hope you get the job!

    1. Hi cats working!

I rather hope she stays close than Malkolm following her around in the neighbourhood πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She’s only 8 months old so I guess she’ll be a bit more adventurous closer to summer.

People just used their titles to push down those will less High ranking titles and no one likes a bully, so today You need to ask what people work with to know πŸ™‚ Some years ago young people thought they were polite if they said Mrs or You (You is what we use because you is said du while You is said Ni) and people got so upset that it died out rather quickly again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

We’ll know about the job some time next week.
