It has been a rather nice day with lots of sunshine and below freezing temperatures until noon, after that it has been grey and dull.. Most of the snow is now gone, instead we have ice 🙂 except for where the sun has reached, the snow is still there but was so hard that even I could walk on it!

We walked down to the creek and thankfully, even though I do like having horses working in the forest, the horse guy and his horses were elsewhere today. So much easier to walk with Alma, especially on slippery ice 🙂 🙂 We managed to have our walk despite ice and lots of pulling the leash from them both. It will stay above 0 C (32 F) both night and day for seven days they’re guessing so that ice will probably melt away in the shadowy parts as well.

After that I’ve tried to understand the new computer 🙂 I wanted to see something on tv today so I had to do it via the computer. So I installed SVT (Swedish television) play, easy done but since I don’t have any speaker I then logged in to SVT Radio to get some sound via my phone, It was ski Biathlon I wanted to watch and it is a so popular sport here that they have it on both radio and tv at the same time. What I didn’t know was that the tv was around 10 minutes after the radio so when they said what was happening on the radio it still hadn’t happened on tv, very odd 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I had to download SVT play on my phone so that I could get the sound and picture right 🙂 🙂

I also downloaded my photos to the new computer, I can see why professional photographer wants that program, the photos are so clear that it is amazing! However the program is anything but user friendly 🙂 🙂 🙂 Downloading the photos was easy but then trying to create an album took around twenty minutes before I figured it out, the problem was that it seemed impossible to get those photos in to the new album 🙂 🙂  Took ten minutes to figure that out as well 🙂 I only down size my photos and that should be easy enough but oh no. I had to check how many MB it was after I tried it because I’m used to PC 🙂 🙂 🙂 I still don’t know if I have saved it because no such question popped up 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’ve stopped trying for the day so now I’ll go downstairs and have one of my newly baked rolls and then I’ll read a book 🙂 No tea now, I drank some too late yesterday and didn’t sleep much last night 🙂

Have a great day!

Low flying mist here and there on our walk.

  1. Looks like you have lovely, dry weather with sun! Such a nice change. I’m hoping for something similar in the next few days.
Ramping up with a new computer can be a challenge, but after a few weeks I’m sure you’ll love it.
Photo storage and organization is something I haven’t figured out to my satisfaction — especially the ‘Search’ function. I’ll be interested to hear how you progress.
So, both dogs pull at the leash? It makes Sarah at home look like the ‘good kid’.

    1. Hi Goodport!

At the moment at least but I feel we have too little sunshine but we rarely have sunshine here during winter unless it’s really cold. I don’t want cold so I’m happy anyways 🙂 🙂 It’ll be rain free until Monday and well have some snow on Tuesday with lower temperatures.

I’ll take it slow, if for no other reason than to have fun with my brother 🙂 🙂 I can manage as long as the old computer continues to work. I learned how to resize the photos today but it took some time to figure out how to save the changes 🙂 🙂 🙂 I must say that in that case PC’s are so much more user friendly, it says what to do and one doesn’t need to search for anything 🙂

You’ll most likely see in my blog if I am successful with anything 🙂 🙂 🙂

Malkolm walks perfectly when he’s alone but Alma stresses us all up to insanity levels so he just does like she but in a much calmer way 🙂 🙂
I wouldn’t go that far when it comes to the little monster 🙂 🙂 🙂

  2. I think you mentioned in another post that Alma was in heat. Does that mean she’s not spayed? Do you think if you had her spayed she would calm down at least somewhat? Or are you planning for her to have puppies at some point?

I have 3 male cats, all neutered and they all get along for the most part. Roc and Tony wrestle constantly, but it’s not mean and nobody gets hurt. Roc and Max sleep together on the couch in the evenings like they’re a couple. Max doesn’t like Tony because Tony chases him (Max is oldest, Tony youngest).

Then I added my parents’ female cat Tater to the group when my parents died. She’s spayed (after at least one litter of kittens as a stray when she was about 2 years old), and she doesn’t like boys, although she and Max get along. He ignores her. It’s taken over a year for her to tolerate Tony and Roc, but there’s still some hissing and growling at times.

I wonder if Tater would be more accepting if she’d been spayed as a kitten, like all the boys were. She may be afraid they want to assault her, but I know the idea never enters their heads because they’ve never been with a girl.

    1. Hi catsworking!

No she’s not but I really would like her to be but since I have no job I just can’t pay $ 3000 US to get it done. I’ll talk with the vet if she can have pills instead, at least until I get a new job or win the lottery. Even males are expensive now days, at least $ 1000 US. No more puppies ever, wonderful little monsters but so exhausting, they never sleep 🙂 🙂 🙂 Plus I hate to let them go to strangers, who knows what they’ll do to them.

When I had more than one cat at the same time, brothers, they never agreed to anything and always had fights but if one was attacked by another cat the other one would suddenly be there fighting together with his brother 🙂

I don’t thing age matters that much, my old pitbull was spayed really early and he still hated dog that didn’t belong to the family 🙂

      1. Wow! I didn’t realizing spaying was so expensive. I don’t know what vets here would charge. But not too long ago I asked my vet about cleaning Max’s teeth. She sent me an estimate of worst-case dental scenario where he might need 3 teeth pulled and it was $2,250. (Vet had just moved into a new building and I think she wanted Max to make a mortgage payment on it.) Max still hasn’t had his teeth cleaned.

Tater recently got hers done by a different vet she’s been seeing and needed 2 teeth pulled. He charged me only $650. Still a lot, but not crazy like my vet. I will probably transfer my 3 boys to him, although he’s not as close by as my lady vet.

When my sister first trapped Tater as a stray, she was pregnant and had 4 kittens. My sister took one, a friend who helped her with them took 2, and that woman had a friend who took the 4th, so we know where they all are, and having good lives. If I ever had kittens, I would never be able to give them away, or I’d worry about them, like you with puppies.

      2. The prices has sky rocketed since venture capital companies took over the vet industry. It is actually cheaper for me to travel to Spain for a week and have it done there than doing it here in Sweden. They are just as good, having the same equipment as well. They can do like that since the insurance companies are ok with it, they know most pet ownes will pay anything for their pets. I had instead saved a good chunk of money for vet care but then I was forced to quit my job because I couldn’t work from 4:25 pm to 3:00 am. The rather mentally unstable son of the previous CEO tried to do that with another employee as well. So spaying needs to wait but I’ll talk with the vet about pills instead. It will not be fun if she goes in to heat with Albin here as well 🙂 🙂

Still 650 is a lot of money as well but vets need to live as well.

When old Erna had puppies everything went wrong so only four puppies survived, it was not a planned thing so even if it was sad I then new where all puppies would go, two to me and two to friends 🙂

  3. I had read that you left your job, and I hope you are able to find something suitable without too much trouble when you are ready to go back to work.

In Virginia, if someone quits a job (as opposed to being laid off through no fault of their own), they are ineligible to get unemployment compensation, which isn’t enough to live on anyway, but at least it’s something.

I just semi-retired after 23 years as a freelance business writer/editor working from home and started collecting Social Security. After 23 years of not getting paid until I delivered tangible work to clients (as opposed to sitting in an office collecting paychecks whether I did any work or not, as most of my business clients did), I’m finding it hard to believe that money just shows up in my account every month. I still feel like I need to do something to “earn” it, even though it’s really reimbursement for all the taxes I’ve paid my whole working life.

Interesting to hear that vet care is much cheaper in Spain. My sister is moving to Portugal, probably in March, because it’s cheaper than Scotland, which was her first choice.

    1. Hi cats working!

Yes I had too, they tried to force to work from 4:25 pm to 3:am and that was impossible because my dogs can’t stay indoors all that time and if they would be in the dog yard/ doghouse they would bark loudly every time an animal passed and we have loads of them here and then they would keep my neighbours app all night, they have two children at the age of 2 and 5.
Well I’m 60 so I’m not hot at the work market 🙂 I do have money coming in from the unemployment insurance and it lasts for 300 days.

I have no such problems with money coming in just like that 🙂 🙂 🙂

Portugal is a cheap country to retire in and I don’t know any more kind and pleasant people here in Europe! Good choice 🙂
