I’m so glad that I decided to go to the supermarket yesterday instead of today, arriving a bit late the snowstorm still is bad. Despite that we have lots of snow now I doubt we’ll have much left on Wednesday because we’ll have above freezing temperatures and also lots of rain on the way.

The bird feeder is now even closer to the ground 🙂 It was even hard to fill it when it’s that close to the ground.

North eastern winds so the snow gets stuck in the lilacs and barely reaches the Pawpaws and Camellia.

A couple of hunters did actually come here today but I doubt that they even went out, these gusts and heavy snow on that makes it dangerous to walk around in the forest, so I guess that they sat in the hunting lodge, started a fire and perhaps grilled something over the open fire 🙂 When they finally drove away the weather was so bad that the dogs and I stayed at home, I hope we’ll get a chance tomorrow even though it looks like it’ll rain all day and night.

I slept rally bad last night and I did so mostly because the monster kitten now is able to almost jump up on tables and counters. Either she jumps straight in to things and while falling down to the floor she grabs everything in reach so it falls with her or if she’s successful she walks around pushing things down on the floor. We had lots of things going bump in the night here 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and then I’ll most likely will fall asleep in the recliner 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. Your snow is beautiful! And isn’t it a smug and cozy feeling to have your supply run done before the storm hits?
I guess it was just a matter of time before Sara woke to her feline powers of being able to jump up on things. Hopefully she’ll grow in grace with some practice. 😉

Alma and Malkolm look to be living their best lives, and I love seeing their mock battles.

We usually get quite a bit of snow here, but it’s been very dark and extremely wet this Winter. I’ll be glad to see some sun. ☀️

    1. Hi Goodport!

Just the week before she wasn’t able to come close in her jumps so I thought I would have some more time to remove anything that would be dragged down to the floor 🙂 🙂

It was a really good feeling and I would nod have to eat some rather boring food for a couple of days because I would never in my life be driving around in that weather 🙂 🙂 🙂

They do have loads of fun fighting in the garden 🙂 Alma is very kind towards Malkolm because he wouldn’t stand a chance against her 🙂 🙂 So when she notices that he’s getting a bit frustrated she lets him take over for a while 🙂

Lately we’ve had some snow in late November and after that it would stay away until February, maybe March so having snow now feels wrong 🙂 Then again they are now once again guessing that we’ll get really warm winds again, they rally got it wrong last week so I don’t trust them at all 🙂 🙂

  2. We finally got our first measurable snow here in Virginia in several years. It’s hovered around freezing, though colder at night, and I think we got about 3 inches, then it turned to rain to smash the snow down a bit.

Tonight we’re supposed to get another inch or two of snow. So, I cleared the front steps and used a broom to clear the car. None of my neighbors did that. But I figure if it’s going to snow again, better to start clean again so it won’t be so heavy. Last year my car doors froze shut for the first time. All four of them. I didn’t realize it until I was going out to take Tater the cat to the vet to get her teeth cleaned. I had to call my sister to take Tater because the doors wouldn’t budge until sun hit one side for a few hours. Then I was able to to fetch Tater pay the bill.

On these cold nights in the 20s F, I wake up and find myself boxed in by cats. Tater and Roc will sleep against me on the sides, and Tony gets between my legs so I can’t move. I know they’re just using me for a heater.

Sara is a smart kitty, staying cozy indoors and wrecking the joint while the dogs have to go outside and get toe snowballs. She looks big enough to jump almost anywhere she wants now, unfortunately for you. It’s the joy of having a cat. You can’t have nice things.

    1. Hi catsworking!

It wasn’t even remotely close to how warm they guessed it would be here, just around 32 F so even if we had loads of rain most of the snow stayed, I’m not happy. Now it will get colder again so it’s like walking on small ice pebbles.

I did the stairs too just before the next snowfall, just as well do that as You say because it’s so much easier to remove the new snow. Thankfully the wind came from north so the left front door worked, the right side is still pretty frozen though 🙂 🙂 🙂
Good thing Your sister could bring Tater!

Cold nights are much the same here but the dogs will only sleep on one side of me and Sara will always sleep down by my feet. I am however very warn on that side 🙂 🙂 🙂

She is and not only does she jump, she’s also climbing on everythig, especially drapes 🙂 🙂

  3. Ah yes, cats jumping and dogs chewing. I guess I’ll take the jumping. Sara will soon grow big enough to measure her jumps (or maybe she’ll stay forever clumsy, who knows?)

    Good luck!

    1. Hi carolannie!

Yes some cats stay forever clumsy 🙂 I once had a cat who were cross-eyed and he could run straight in to a wall missing the opening with quite a lot.

  4. I chuckled at Sarah knocking stuff over in the night. It brought back a memory from the late 60’s of the time a Siamese kitten followed my brother home from his girlfriend’s house. We let the kitten in because it was a cold winter’s night and a Siamese kitten does not wander about even back then. I had 2 other cats who were not pleased about it so the kitten went up to my bedroom. Lying there in the dark, I listened to him cruise around the tops of my furniture knocking things over onto the floor. Finally, I opened the door and called down to my parents that I was booting the kitten out of my room and he’d have to fend for himself. He was still alive and unharmed in the morning so he did well. I found his owner a day or so later and was very happy when she came to pick him up. Thus ended my desire to ever own a Siamese cat. 😀

Still colder than midnight on Pluto. Possibly even colder than midnight on the elusive Planet 9. But the sun is sort of shining so there’s that.

    1. Hi Caryn!

🙂 🙂 I’ve had a couple of half Siamese cats so I know what that’s like 🙂 🙂 🙂 I must admit that Sara is a very calm cat compared to them 🙂 🙂 It is said that orange cats are special and weird but compared to a Siamese they’re they are well behaved 🙂 🙂 🙂

Going downwards again here but we’ll have a new storm soon and they’re guessing the winds will be rather warm but they totally guessed it wrong this time, it wasn’t remotely close to their guessing so I doubt they’ll be right this time either 🙂

It must be cold on planet nine, even on a hot summers day there 🙂 🙂 🙂

  5. Christer, I hope wish we will get at least one snowfall before winter is over and I know there is time still, but nothing like you are experiencing here yet in Nashua, NH. We are expected to get some flurry activity over the weekend. We have been having very windy days making it feel much colder. The dogs look like they are really enjoying the snow, while Sara is staying comfortably and a bit reckless indoors.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

You can get all our snow if You like 🙂 🙂 🙂
We had a big storm here these last days and now they’re guessing another one will visit in a few days. Winds from west so I’ll barely notice it thankfully 🙂

Yes they like it short moments so they can play but usually wants to be indoors after a few minutes 🙂

Sara really wants to go outside but she’s still to young. I’ll let her outside when spring has sprung here 🙂
