A storm passed by during last night, I knew it would be windy but not even close to what it was π It didn’t reach my garden because my neighbors cottage and garage blocked it but I could hear the roar from the wind blowing through the forest and it was loud! I couldn’t see any trees that had fallen though so the ground must have frozen enough to hold a grip on the trees.

I’ve finally made that clay thing I wrote about, a viking ship advent candlestick. If it was supposed to float on water it would sink because it is warped in all directions π π π I’ve had much fun making it though and that’s why I tried it but I think working with clay is not a hobby I will continuing doing π π π As it is now it’s also a sure fire-hazard because the lights are put deep in the lichens and they dry as soon as they come indoors and would start to burn as soon as it gets warm enough. So perhaps I must buy some more clay so the the candles stand above the lichens with no risk of them falling down. Even normal advent candlesticks can be dangerous if not watched properly and is one of the biggest reason to fires in homes this time of year.

I managed to cancel the second computer order I made yesterday already today. To not risk them missing it I put a message on their web site, their forum, I emailed it and also finally managed to call them π π To be honest the price was so low that I most likely would have been able to sell it for a better price on our ebay called Tradera if I had failed but why go through that if I don’t need to. One of my brothers’ who’s a Mac fanatic (never had anything else ever) is happy about this, I’m leaving the dark side and have seen the light π π π He’s the only one I know who has a Mac so I guess we’ll have plenty of phone calls until I’ve understood how those computers work π π π

Alma behaved so well today when we were out walking that it surprised me! Oh how I wish this would continue but she has her moments of peace and then back to even worse than before until she calms down again π π There were a few moments out by the bog when sounds, I can only describe them as sounding like distant explosions, rolled over the bog. Have no clue to what it could have been but they did worry her for a few minutes. A wolf killed a hunting dog not far from here yesterday, I just can’t understand why hunters so willingly let their dogs run out in a forest where they have wolf-packs?? They know this can and will happen but they just refuse to change the hunting methods they have used up till now. After this has happened they go out in media crying how horrible the wolves are and now they’ve lost a family member and the kids are crying. Well if it was a family member why didn’t they keep the dog leashed??

I’ve already had my last cup of tea for the day and after this it’s time to fall asleep in front of the tv π
Have a great day!

Such a cute photo of your little monster kitten, Christer!
Your clay project came out nice. Was it messy to work with? The lichen makes it look so nice. Maybe you can find some LED battery-operated lights for it.

Thatβs a great solution for the candles, ppekka24!

Hi ppekka!
She truly is cute but isn’t it so that the best monsters are? π That’s why they surprise us so good. Well trump is a monster even though he isn’t cute and never really surprised us π π
I have seen worse projects π π π It wasn’t especially messy to be honest, ok there’s clay all over the hands but was also easy to remove.
Yes led lights are an option but not until next year so that the monster kitten might have calmed down some π

I love your Viking ship! And I agree with you about having the dogs on a leash. I have 3 dogs and Iβve been working with them so I can take all three for walks at the same time, all on a leash. When we first started going out it was a tangled mess of leashes and dogs and the walks were not much fun for me or the dogs. But weβve kept at it and all 3 are doing so much better now. We rarely have leash tangles anymore.

Hi clralexva!
It’s leaning towards all direction but the paint and lichens disguise that quite well. It was really fun doing it though π
Yes if one knows there are wolves around leash the dogs! Hunters don’t want wolves around and seems to willingly sacrifice their dogs just to make a point and a chance to cry in the media. Of all the dogs I have had living with me only two had to be leashed all the time. Malkolm is good at it but he’s only allowed to do it in wide open spaces so that I can see what’s coming close towards us. He’s also good in walking leashed and finally it seems that Alma think it is nicer to get treats for doing as she should than scolding for not care at all π π π

All three of mine need to be on a leash for different reasons. Haley is very prey driven so any small furry thing she sees she is going to chase and who knows where she ends up. Twizzler is strongly motivated by scents so heβll be following his nose with his eyes to the ground and who knows what heβd run into. And Stephen, heβd probably be the one most likely to stick by me. But heβs a very anxious and nervous dog and is startled and frightened easily. When something spooks him, he just blindly runs away and doesnβt stop until heβs too tired to run anymore. I have a fenced yard where they do get to run around off leash. But anything outside the yard and they all have to be leashed.

I do trust Malkolm but Alma would also just run away if she sees anything move π π I actually don’t think she would hurt anything she would hunt, she just wants to say hi and then she would see something else moving and the hunt would continue and I would never see her again π π π
I do have a fenced yard but both just jumps over to the neighbors next door and starts playing with their children π π

My fence in 8 ft high so none of them can jump over it. Although Haley can jump high so if it were much shorter sheβd probably be visiting the neighbors as well!

The Viking ship looks great, Christer! The painted boat color with the lichens and white candles looks wonderful. Congratulations on your first clay project! Your design and the finished boat with lichen & candles came out really well.

Hi Denali Sam!
The paint and lichens disguises everything else pretty good π The main thing was to have fun and that I had π
Now I’ll try something else, might go back to pencil drawing or perhaps painting, My oldest brother is an artist so he has already sent me lots of materials π
