I think most of the photos I use today were taken yesterday when the world still looked frozen and frosty white. Well Sara as well of course.

The cold and wind free days are over and now we have windy but warmer days instead. The only thing I’m not happy about is how much dirtier the floor becomes πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Still I prefer warmer weather. I have been born in the wrong part of the world, I should have been born in aΒ  warmer climate where it stayed around 20 C (68 F) all year round πŸ™‚

I would like to say this was taken in the early morning but it was already 9:25 am.
I never picked that last squash in the vegetable garden πŸ™‚

Today we must have had some rain during the night and the rest of the day, except for a few minutes, the sky has been evenly grey. Now the sky is clear, the full? moon is bright in the sky and therefor it’ll be cold during the night. Tomorrow the day will be cloudy again and I wonder why it always happen that way and not cloudy nights and sunny days? πŸ™‚

I’ve done some laundry today and right now I’m waiting for my french rolls to cool down so I can have one or two before falling asleep in front of the tv πŸ™‚ I’ve had some fun with clay for a couple of days now and have had really fun. I’ll show You when it is done. It isn’t beautiful in any way πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ but I’ve had lots of fun doing it. The problem is that I really have no good place to work with it, I’ve been standing at the kitchen counter and the stove πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Back pain as a result but it’ll pass πŸ™‚ I do have a lot more time now when I don’t have a job so I thought I would see what kind of hobby I would like besides photography.

Β  Β  Β

I doubt I’ll continue with clay though even though this was a kind that hardens without having to stand in a kiln lots of hours. I have lots more things I can do and also sit down while doing it so if You’re unlucky You might have to look at several more failures until I know if I have another hobby or being happy about having my cameras πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I think it is time to try one of those rolls, this time they at least look good, and of course that last cup of tea for the day πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. Christer, as much as you don’t like the cold and snow, your photos are always wonderful. My favorites this post was the 3 birds at the end and Sara. I have missed many if your earlier posts because of losing your blog site, so didn’t know that you were no longer working, a layoff or retirement? Good luck with the clay hobby.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

Even I have to admit that frosty photos are beautiful πŸ™‚

As I answered the last time I had to quit my job since I can’t work from 4:25 pm to 3 am. The dogs can’t stay indoors that many hours and if they are in the dog yard they’ll bark all night every time a wild animal passes by πŸ™‚ So now I’m looking for a new job, not the best time when things still are going downwards in the work environment here in Europe. But then again I’ve never felt more rested and I spend all my free time with my dogs πŸ™‚

      1. Christer, sorry that I missed that earlier reply to my question about your job😟 as I don;t always remember to check back for a reply when I have asked a question. Hope you are able to find a new job in the New Year. But, for now, I understand how staying home with your pets and interests feels very good. Retirement for us has been wonderful for many, many years!

      2. Hi Beatrice!

        πŸ™‚
I think I’ll need to wait until early spring before I have a chance to get a new job, I’m after all 60 now so my market value isn’t that high no matter how good or experienced I am πŸ™‚
Since I don’t have a job I better enjoy this time as much as possible πŸ™‚

  2. Sara on the back of the sofa blends in so well with it and the drapes, she looks as if she were always meant to be with you. Her colors match your decor perfectly. And she’s getting to be quite a regal little lady.

Since photography is your hobby, I wonder why you never take any pictures of food, especially your baking. Some people never eat a meal before posting a photo of the plate.

Don’t get me wrong. I love all the photos of the natural surroundings you capture through the seasons. It just popped into my head when you mentioned the French rolls that I’ve never seen food on your blog, although you discuss it quite a bit.

I’ve done some food posts on my blog when I’ve made things I think might be interesting, although it’s not my usual topic, either.

    1. Hi catsworking!

She truly does πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She’s growing so much now but still tiny compared to the dogs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I actually don’t like taking photos of food and as lots of people I just make the food look awful πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’m simply not an indoor photographer. Outdoors are my place to be because I understand the lightning there and I don’t care how my mobile photos look like because they are mostly only photos of my dogs and cat πŸ™‚

      1. That makes sense. I don’t think food ever looks as good in the picture as it probably is. The exception to that would be frozen dinners, where the photo on the box looks gorgeous and nothing like the garbage that comes out of the microwave.

Your outdoor photos are lovely. I think there are too many food photos in the world but never enough cat photos (and dog)!

      2. Hi catsworking!

It is really difficult to photograph food so I must admit that I admire those photographing the frozen dinners, have no clue to how they manages to do it that good πŸ™‚

πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ yes too few cat photos

      3. I think they must photograph the boxes of frozen dinner when the food is first cooked. They make it look pretty on the plate (and probably use 2-3 dinners to make it look like a real meal). Then they take a bit, dump it on a plastic tray and freeze it so it looks like garbage after reheating.
