Really nice morning here today but the hunters were out in the forest and I didn’t want to walk in the village so it took some time before we could have our morning walk. The hunters aren’t however very patient people so they left pretty soon anyway ๐

They’re guessing that we’ll have pretty much the same weather tomorrow but after that it’ll change to below 0C (32F) temperatures both day and night plus we’ll get up to 25 cm (10 inches of snow starting Tuesday evening till Thursday evening. So after having our morning walk tomorrow I’ll go to the super market and buy everything I’ll need for the rest of the week. I’m not happy to be unemployed but it sure feels good to not have to be out driving in that kind of weather.

I’ve now planted the last plants in the garden, one rose and four Sea โโbuckthorn. Have You ever eaten the berries from the Sea โโbuckthorn? They are delicious, a mix of passion fruit, pine apple and oranges (slightly sour) according to myself ๐ There’s only one problem and that’s to pick them. Firstly they are protected by thorns from hell and they tend to burst when one tries to remove them ๐ So one usually cuts off the branches they they are attached to and slowly rip them off starting from the bottom of the branch, because they tend to point towards the tip of the branch, over a bucket so both the berries and the juice drops down in to the bucket. they are absolutely best as fresh but works almost as well as jelly or ade. These bushes are so small that it’ll take a couple of years before they give berries I think.

So two years ago I started to have a Christmas tree again. I stopped to have one when one of my old dogs thought that no matter where a tree stands it is supposed to be peed on, referable every day and he was a big dog, weighed 52 kg (around 105 pound). So when he no longer was with me and both cats were gone as well I bought me a plastic tree that looked surprisingly much like a living tree. It has been rather nice to put it up every time to be honest. Now Sara the cat is here and she climbs everywhere and likes to chew on cables I’m afraid so no more christmas tree for me ๐ ๐ I do have the battery driven light chain though and if I remember it right it would work for a tree outside, the thing is that I then would have to remember to turn it on and off every day so I think I’ll skip that.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and at the same time give the animals their dinners. Nothing worth watching on tv tonight so at the moment I have no idea what to do but I’ll most likely snooze inย front of the tv while wondering what to do ๐

Have a great day!
Thatโs a lot of snow youโre expecting! It feels good to get the groceries in the house, hunker down and enjoy the cozy. I was wondering about Sara and a Christmas tree โ theyโre just so darn tempting to a kitten. Sheโll probably do well with a tree next year.
I love how Alma and Malkolm enjoy each other. Those are great, dramatic photos of their mock battles!

I have no idea why this happens but I do get a good laugh when it happens ๐

Hi Goodport!
Well now they’ve changed it totally because the low pressure seems to continue south for much longer than they first believed. I wouldn’t min the least if it stays that way ๐
Some cats don’t care more than a few minutes about the tree, others will continue to climb in them for the rest of their lives ๐ ๐ ๐ Well the tree is plastic so when that day come I’ll just put it up again ๐

I just love your daily letters and photos! After almost two years of hoping, wondering, searching and getting things in place, tomorrow, I get the keys to a home I bought in Cumberland, MD. It comes with a bit over 3 acres. Most of it trees. I hope to create something similar to what you have and what you talk about every day. I have my three dogs and I want to create a garden and a small orchard and a peaceful, relaxing, inviting, lovely spot we can all hang out in. You inspire me so much and Iโm so excited to start walking down a path somewhat similar to the one youโve shown me. Thank you, so much! It touches my heart that you brought Sarah in to your family. When I moved here and began renting this place, I had two cats who were sisters- Oprah and Sallie. They shared their life with me for 18 yrs. Both passed within a couple of months of each other during COVID lockdown shortly after I moved in. I love dogs. But I also love cats. I miss having them as part of my family. Once I get to Cumberland, MD, Iโm thinking that a cat or two may join me and the dogs (Stephen, Twizzler, Haley) in this adventure!

Hi clralexva!
I am glad You like it and I’ve never regretted living here in nowhere :-)I wish I had more land but then again I would most likely have been ruined by now because I would have bought so many plants ๐ ๐ ๐
I think Sara brought herself in to our lives by having that loud voice ๐ ๐ ๐ but she’s welcome ๐ Malkolm is now teaching her to fight against all the other cats that lives here and when she lose a fight she really becomes annoyed ๐ ๐ ๐
I do like my little garden and the more I can make it a sort of forest garden the happier I become ๐ I’m glad that it inspires You ๐
One can’t live without animals, especially dogs but I have almost always had cats as well ๐
