Almost frost again this morning, lots of morning mist, no wind and a rising sun. Mornings really can’t be much better. The mornings this week have felt like early summer, despite the yellow and red leafs. Lots of different bees on what still is in bloom as well. Very few wasps though, to be honest I haven’t seen especially many of them this summer, loads of different kind of bees but very few wasps.

I’ve tried to have naps many times today but every time someone or something has interrupted it. I’ll have to take a few more tomorrow instead π Alma is slightly better in her stomach so I hope we all can have a long nights sleep tonight. The problem is that she doesn’t wake me up, she just walks to the stairs and down to the door, I’ve been sleeping very light lately because of that π π π I realized that I wouldn’t have enough fish for her so I had planned to go to the supermarket tomorrow but thankfully my neighbor called, she was on her way to go home after work and asked if I needed something π so no supermarket tomorrow π

besides that I have to say that today has been a really nice day and if it hadn’t been for Malkolm constantly jumping over the fence and continue to the little lake behind the dog yard so that I have had to have the kitchen door closed most parts of the day. He isn’t that old yet and soon the moose hunt starts and that’s not a time to be running around in the forest. So if he’s out in the garden I must be there too. A fun thing is that if he’s gone I just tell Alma to fetch him and she does π π π It takes a while but he does follow her home.

It’s time to brush my teeth and then go to bed, I do hope all stomachs are calm, otherwise I’ll be even more tired tomorrow π Very little sunshine tomorrow they’re guessing but still temperatures above 20C (68F). This must be one of the warmest Septembers in ages and I’ve enjoyed every warm day we’ve had π

Hi Crister. Here in Dayton, Oh itβs 92 and a drought. Tomorrow we may get a little rain and start to cool off. Itβs been in the 90s all week. Itβs nice to have helpful neighbors. Poor Alma with her indigestion and getting up all night, and poor you having to get up all night. At least you donβt have to go to work. I hope you find another job soon but can have a rest for awhile. Take care. Joy

Hi Joy!
We almost never reach temperatures like that here π π So around 68 to 75 is what we normally reach here π I do hope it cools down quickly where You live!
I do have the best of neighbors !!!
Alma’s stomach is going better now, it isn’t good but now at least we slept all night π
I hope so too even though it has been a really pleasant week with summer temperatures and morning mist π

Hi mandolin mama!
That is my favorite too!
Yes finally we could sleep an entire night :-)and she is really clever but only when we’re at home, out on walks she’s just impossible π π

Lots of lovely foggy photos and then that one brilliantly autumn colored shot. Great. We are supposed to have a brilliant fall but now they are saying that the dry month of September might screw that up. My walnut trees are shedding leaflets like there was a cold snap and the grass is summer drought brown and crispy. It did rain all day Saturday. It was a nice soaking rain, too. Temperatures are in the mid 60s Fahrenheit. Nice for sleeping but I had to shut all the windows last night because there were gale force winds and rain. Not very comfy.
Can you put a temporary screen door on the kitchen door just to keep Malkolm inside until you wanted to go out with him? You’d be able to keep the kitchen door open but the screen door might slow him down. He’ll still jump the fence, I guess, but at least you’ll be outside to yell at him. π
I hope all the stomaches and runny noses return to normal quickly.

Hi Caryn!
I’ve been lucky with the morning mist lately, we even had one this morning even though we came out rather late.
We usually only have a few bright red maples and some nicely peach colored cherry trees around here, birch leafs turn brown pretty quickly and we do have some bright aspen trees too. No risk any drought stopping our colors, we still have more ground water than the ground allows π π π
Not a bad idea to be honest, I’ll take a look at that. He is a very gentle dog but I guess the door would have to be replaced after him running through it the first couple of times π π π
Seems things have turned towards the better now, my cold is almost gone and Alma’s stomach is much better. Not good at all to be honest but now we all could have a long nights sleep without having to get up in the middle of it π

My friend’s giant dog used to run through their patio slider screen door so her husband bolted what looked to me like a shelf from a baker’s rack to the inside frame on the bottom half of the door. That’s the part her dog used to push through.

I’ll think about that next spring, the season of having the kitchen door open is over now, getting chilly and today the rain is pouring down π
