Another warm and sticky day, the morning was nice though and as long as we were out on our morning walk the sun shone and it was just enough warm. It was cloudy for a while after that so it continued to stay nice but as soon as the sun showed itself it went down hill πŸ™‚

Then again that made the laundry dry up fast so I won’t complain too much πŸ™‚ I’ve forgotten to make dinner for work next week but I did make pancakes for me and the dogs, I’ll eat oatmeal porridge at work tomorrow instead πŸ™‚

The heat made me tired so we’ve actually had two long naps today, the first one in my recliner and that really is a great place to nap, the second one in my bed and I was joined by Alma and Malkolm I had started a timer so I wouldn’t sleep for too long but it felt nice to be in bed awake so we stayed there for quite some time πŸ™‚ Normally I just get up and start doing what I am supposed to do so this was a nice change, that of course made me not doing what I had planned to do and therefore no dinner for work πŸ™‚ but it is worth it πŸ™‚

It will stay warm tomorrow until the evening when a cold front will fly in from west bringing cooler weather and lots of rain. I won’t mind the rain since it is quite dry in my garden. I really don’t want any cold weather for quite some time, or not at all but that won’t happen πŸ™‚ The weather pattern has changed quite a lot though, winter used to start in late October and then, if it was really bad, continue in to May, I don’t miss that at all. Now winter comes as earliest in late February, stays a short while and then hopefully spring starts, this year we had summer in May instead, sort of normal rainy summer until August and now summer again in September πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It is time for a couple of sandwiches and a cup of tea I think and then most likely dozing off in front of the tv πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. So much peace in your photos, and is there anything more luxurious than a long, lazy nap?
I’m glad your garden will be getting some rain.
It’s been unusually warm here, with haze from distant forest fires. However, we’ll get a cold front on Wednesday, so hopefully the haze clears out. I’m looking forward to cooler temperatures.
Do you make a big pot of soup or stew for your work meals?

    1. Hi Goodport!

I don’t think so and to stay after I woke up made it just so much nicer πŸ™‚

We really needed that rain now and we’ve gotten bucket loads today. All vegetation with deep roots looked really fine but the ones with shallow root system looked like they were dying πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I normally pack an emergency bag each summer just in case of fires but this year I really didn’t have too since it rained from early June till late August πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Rarely soup but quite often stews, I use my slow cooker mostly but I’ve even cooked entire chickens in it and especially chicken curry πŸ™‚
