It has been much warmer than the weather presenter and weather sites guessed yesterday, 30C (86F). Also there was no wind what so ever so the heat in the factory was nasty. Now the Swedish weather site says no rain what so ever and around 77F, yesterday they guessed up to an inch with rain. The Norwegian site which I trust more says much the same temperature but at least a fifth of an inch with rain. So I wouldn’t be the least surprised if their first guess comes true anyway π π π

I once had a garage where I used to park my car if the weather was going to be bad but then some of the dogs living here years ago dug their way in and my garage became an indoor dog yard π It’s just walls and roof made of metal sop nothing special. Anyway I’ve always thought it would be like staying in an oven when the weather went hot but it is actually cooler in there than outside?! I have always wondered why the dogs preferred to be in there on sunny and hot days. The floor was once made of wooden planks and beneath it just plain sand and since the wooden floors are long gone I think that maybe the sand, damp because of all the rain we have here cools the entire place down.

Nova is sleeping behind me but the other two are outside playing, coming in every third minute to drink some water, run up to us to see that we’re still here and then run outside again π π π I was watering the vegetables before I started writing here and Alma avoids the water like it is death coming for her while Malkolm sits down so that the little wind we have blows the water steam all over him π I think it might be time to bring out the little dog pool and start filling it with water, Neither Nova nor Alma will like it but I have a hunch that Malkolm will π The other two have as most only shown interest in it when the water becomes so dirty it’s disgusting, that when they drink it π π

Have a great day!

Cats can be that way too – prefer to drink water from a stagnant puddle outdoors instead of a nice clean pet fountain indoors! Crazy animals.

Hi ppekka!
True!
I, just a few days ago, saw a commercial that said cats only drink running water and therefore we should buy their cat fountain. The first thing I thought was that I don’t think those people know especially many cats π π

It hit 100F in Virginia yesterday. I’ve noticed all the cats (I have 4) drinking more water, even though they stay indoors with air conditioning and fans. I guess their fur coats get warm anyway.
They have a cat fountain with a nice tall stream that Roc likes to wash his face under. He comes to me face dripping to be wiped off. Then he turns right around and does it again!
Roc’s also been drinking out of the toilet lately, even with two cat fountains and four water bowls around. The toilet has a bidet on it, so if I catch him and bidet him in the face, maybe he’ll stop. Or maybe he’ll think it’s another fountain and want more.

Hi catsworking!
I’m not someone that knows a lot about Ac units but doesn’t they dry out the air! So I guess that since it is hot outside but cool inside but with dry air that makes them drink more? I’m never out long enough in my car with the Ac on so I really have no idea if I’m even close to guessing right π π
I love the way cats behave π π
They get the craziest ideas π My guess is that he will continue to do it anyway but be more sneaky about it π

The AC can dry out the air but itβs usually quite humid here so maybe it balances out. They also like to lie on the linoleum floor because itβs cooler than carpet. Even though itβs comfortable inside, they seem to know itβs hot out. I do open one window every morning to let them see the weather for themselves too.
