Hot again and wordPress refuse to upload more than three photos today!

I haven’t seen much on my way to work lately, the morning mist has vanished long before I go to work. I did see this lady though.

Three days filled with fun things, Monday and Tuesday lawn mowing so now I have burned myself on stinging nettles and have scratch marks from my roses. Today I paid the bills so now much less money in the bank πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The days have been sunny and Scandinavian hellish ( around 80,6 F) hot and for once no wind so my work place is awful despite the fact that I haven’t been even close to the paint box and we are slowly melting away at night since the entire cottage is hot as h..l πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I can for some reason don’t upload any more photos, lets hope it works better tomorrow!

Besides that it’s really nice, especially if one likes mosquitoes as pets πŸ™‚ They’ve attacked my ancles while I’ve been mowing and watering my vegetables. Well my hands too since I refuse to wear gloves when it’s summer but those are easier to chase away. The heatwave will and on Friday when rain and thunder makes a visit once again. We’ve had unusually much thunder this spring/ early summer. Normally we have that in late summer and early autumn. It’s not like it will get cold after that but the temperature will stay around 20C (68F) and that’s perfect for me and especially Nova, she can sleep on the kitchen while the sun is frying her but walking around in warmer temperatures now days is just too much for her.

Malkolm isn’t that happy about it either, he is after all only four months old. Alma really doesn’t care as long as it doesn’t rain πŸ™‚ Today she jumped over the fence to my neighbors so many time that I lost counting πŸ™‚ The vegetables loves this weather and grows so well now that I’ll have to start give away some iceberg lettuce and Chard. Even the beans look happier nowΒ  but many are gone after something ate them. The old vegetable patch where I instead sowed flower seeds is a bit of a disappointment. I think there’s still too much nutrients in the ground, our meadow flowers need rally bad soil so the competition with other flowers doesn’t get too hard. I’m pretty sure it’ll look much better next summer, I’ll see if I live as a saying goes here πŸ™‚ I do however get lots of potatoes I didn’t think I would since I haven’t planted any there for two years πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The ice cream lorry just stopped outside my cottage so I bought an extra packet with ice creak, pear-mint flavoredΒ  πŸ™‚ I don’t think that we ever have been able to buy just one ice cream from our ice cream lorries but for a while we could buy frozen dinners, meatballs, fish and desserts πŸ™‚ I don’t think they were especially successful in doing that but the desserts should work but then again one didn’t have much to chose from.

It is time to have a last cup of tea and then to bed, it is after all a work day tomorrow unless I win the lottery tonight πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. Hi there πŸ™‚ What a relief to have a spell of cooler weather! Last week in Boston it was in the 90s F with high humidity — those high temperatures are very unusual for June. I don’t have central AC, just window air conditioners in the living room and bedroom. I cannot imagine your cottage without a cool room for you and the dogs to escape to. I see Alma is continuing Malcolm’s lessons on “How to be a Good Dog”. They are adorable playing together. Enjoy that home delivery Peach-Mint ice cream!!!

    1. Hi Flora!

It was even hotter than they had guessed today and now it won’t cool down that much tomorrow as they said either but on the other hand they now guess that next week will be much cooler than they guessed before πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It is almost extremely rare that private homes have any kind of AC units here in Sweden but I think that” change since we get longer and more heat waves that we’ve had before. So far we tend to have fans but that’s it πŸ™‚ I do have one cool place here and that’s the cellar but the dogs don’t like to go down there I’m afraid.

Yes she’s teaching him all she can and every now and again she sounds very serious when she “talks” to him, that’s when I know he’s gone too far πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I truly enjoy the ice cream,. it’s so far to the nearest grocery store that anything frozen tends to thaw on the way home unless I remember to bring a cooling bag and I rarely do that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!

  2. I swear I’m not laughing at you but describing 80F as hot as hell does make me smile. It’s 97F here today and the low is 72F. I don’t like air conditioning so there are lots of fans. A storm is coming so there is a cool wind despite the heat and the wonderful smell of rain on the way when it has been dry for about three weeks. I have been able to pick two yellow squash and two cucumbers from my containers.

The horse is here wanting me to kill some horseflies for him so I should go.

    1. Hi nduggar!

For us growing up in the previous century that is hot as hell πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We rarely reached the 80’s during summers here, now it’s unfortunately not that uncommon at all. So I usually write Scandinavian hot πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
I have one fan in the bedroom so when it gets too warm it will work all the time.

Now they’re guessing that we won’t get much rain if any and it will stay way too warm tomorrow but cool down on Saturday and now they also guess it’ll be much cooler next week than they guessed yesterday πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I have no cucumbers unfortunately and the squash still have no flowers but I think I’ve bought seeds for a late one, they behaved much the same last year. It has been dry here for four days so no risk of the ground water level to drop at all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The horse flies are here now too, thankfully the tick spray works towards them as well and it was a horse owner who gave me the tip of buying it πŸ™‚

This made me laugh so hard because it so perfectly describes summer here in New England too! πŸ˜„

During that type of oppressive heat, when it so humid that oneself is sticky with sweat, being uncomfortable when sitting, standing, walking around or trying to sleep is the normal way. πŸ₯΅πŸ˜„

For your sake, and for puppy Malkolm & old Nova, I am very glad to hear the weather will change on Friday and you all will have a release from this uncomfortable weather! Since Alma is jumping a fence repeatedly in this heat she obviously is not so bothered. She is quite a character! πŸ˜„

I have noticed that we quite often have the same weather over here as it was four, five days earlier in New England, just not as warm, I guess the Atlantic ocean cools it down some on the way over here.

You’re so right πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It’s the normal way and one can’t do anything about it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Only falling rain bothers Alma πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She has the energy of an electric train but rain will stop her πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Malkolm tries to keep up with her and that makes him sleep all night πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

      1. It’s fascinating to hear your observation about the similarities between New England weather and your weather in Sweden. Thanks for sharing that.

It’s so great that Alma and Malkolm are such good playmates – her endless energy really seems to tire him out after they both get their fill of roughhousing fun. Alma is quite a character. πŸ˜„

I love dear old Nova too – what a blessing for her that Malkolm’s puppy needs for a playmate are happily fulfilled by Alma. I wish I had known Nova when she was young. πŸ™‚

      2. I have some old blog friends that when they describe their weather in New England we will get it not long after πŸ™‚

Alma is a wonderful dog here at home and a pain in the a..e on our walks πŸ™‚ She has started to behave much better so now days I’m not worried she’ll rip my shoulder apart again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Nova came to me as a rescue when she was 1,5 years old. Her first year was starvation and abuse, then she came to an older couple that spoiled her rotten which is just as it should be πŸ™‚ but the lady was hit by cancer so Nova needed a new home and the organisation called Animals Friends called me and asked if she could move here. I was at the moment not too keen about it because I had just lost one of my old dogs, called Erna. They did however send me a photo of her and she was the spitting image of my old Erna but half the size, so after meeting my other dogs she moved in four days later and I’ve never regretted it πŸ™‚ Now instead I worry every day that this might be her last summer, she’s after all 18 years old now.
