It rained quite a lot here this morning and it has also cooled down considerable so it feels like life is back on track again. It has also blown quite a lot so the walk after work was really nice since both flies and mosquitoes blew away from us š š š
I have two big water barrels in my garden and those are mosquito larvae heaven but what the mosquitoes don’t know is that those larvae are fed to the fish in my aquarium š š š My Platy loves to eat them and all larvae are gone within minutes but just in case someone of them would survive I cover the holes in the glass lid so that none can escape in to my living room š Also it looks like there’s spiders living in the thin space between the lid and the water because every time I feed them flakes some of those flakes get caught in the spider web š š
We’ll have this cool and rainy weather for five days they’re guessing but after that it looks like the warmer weather will come back again, just in time for my vacation. I’m not sure I like that at all to be honest. Then again if I don’t work in the heat I might like it a bit better š š
It is time to go to bed and I’ll have no problems at all to fall asleep, well I usually fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, because today I’m so tired after this unforgiving hot work week. I’ll just check for ticks on the dogs again. I missed one walking on Alma because she just laid her hed towards my arm and when she walked away I could feel one walking on my arm, felt horrible!

I think I have had more ticks on me than my dogs have. I remember finding one walking on my arm. It totally grossed me out. I four one tick on Gracie. It was walking so I could spot it in Gracie’s short hair. Nala had four fleas on her. I got all of them. For some reasons my dogs just don’t seem to get fleas.
Today and the next few days will be hot, mid 70’s. Luckily, though, it goes down to the 60’s at night. We are not expecting rain until Sunday.

This is tick paradise I’m afraid. Usually quite humid in the air but also wet in the ground, lots of small bushes and high grass plus we have loads of deer, voles, moles and other rodents that carries lots of ticks. This morning I’ve removed well over twenty from Alma and a couple from both Albin and Nova. Also some from me actually. If it had continued to stay hot and dry we wouldn’t have had a tick problem at all because they hate that kind of weather.
Fleas have been really unusual here. Pets almost never got it unless they were severely neglected but now with warmer weather I’ve heard that they are on a come back.
Cool and rain the coming days here and I like it, despite it bringing out ticks.

The heat’s been bearable here so far but that will change this weekend. Already today the humidity is getting high so I get hot and sticky when moving around a lot. We’ve got smoke from fires in Canada (?) again and there’s a bad air quality alert. I wondered why my eyes were itchy. It’s great that you are getting a cool break.
No fleas on my dogs. No ticks lately either because I’m remembering to spray them with flea and tick killer before we go out. I also have lots of small rodents in the wetland in back and deer come through often.

The humidity is high just now, we have misty rain š Also the temperature has dropped down to 60,8F and I love it š š Ticks also love this weather unfortunately so I’ve picked loads from the dogs after walks today.
Fleas have been pretty unusual here but I guess with warmer climate and smuggled puppies we’ll see more of them in the future.
