We had our first morning with frost yesterday. The temperature sunk to 0C (32F) for just long enough time to give me a sheet of ice over the entire car. I can’t say I liked it 🙂 🙂 🙂 Normally the first frost arrives at September 6 so it came a week early.
When I’m at work my dogs are in the dog house/ yard or garage. They once dug a hole in the ground to get in to the garage so after that it’s now their indoor yard 🙂 They’ve created havoc in there so I rarely go inside to see what it looks like now days 🙂 🙂 The problem now days is that they easily get in there but Nova is old and not especially agile any more so quite often I need to open the garage door to let her out. Albin has never been agile in any way and he’s getting older as well so lately I’ve had to open the garage door for him too.
So yesterday when I came home Alma came out from the dog house (a big part of the wood shed to be honest, it’s so big that I almost can stand straight and I would have no problems having a bed in there 🙂 ) but neither Albin or Nova came out. So I opened the garage door and out ran Albin but I couldn’t find Nova? In this garage/ wood shed, dog house they’ve saved the old outhouse (the old outdoors toilet) and remade it in to a garden shed. and it is sort of built in to the garage. I called after her but she didn’t make a sound, then something on the ground caught my eye.
Turns out that the old lady had dug her way beneath the old outhouse and while doing that pushed the sand behind her blocking the way back out 🙂 🙂 🙂 I have no idea for how long she has been trapped there but it looked like she has had plenty of space anyway 🙂 🙂 🙂 So the first thing I had to do was to dig her out of that place and when i finally got her out I blocked the space with an old lawn mower 🙂 🙂 🙂 The lady might be old but she’s still pretty active 🙂 🙂 🙂

Well that was an eventful day. Territorial bathroom spiders. Archeological dogs. Iced up car in August. That last one is particularly offensive. 😄
It was 91⁰F here yesterday. No fun standing outside in the sun and heat while they inspected my car. But the jeep passed so he’s legal for another year. Yay!
Today was not as hot and it did rain a bit early in the morning. Every fraction of an inch counts. I’ve been watering my neighbor’s arborvitae hedge a little every week. One of them has quite a lot of brown and is probably a lost cause but the rest are okay. They are a screen between our two houses so I’d like them not to die. The heat and drought have been tough.

Aren’t You allowed indoors during the inspection? We are supposed to and can have coffee for free and sometimes they even have cookies 🙂 I’m glad that Your car passed with honors 🙂
I guess You’re right about that one with lots of brown, if they start to turn brown they usually are too damaged. I do understand wanting it to survive, my neighbors and I can’t see each other from our cottages because I have plenty of trees between us. I really like my neighbors but I think it is a good idea that we can be in our gardens without having to see each other all the time.

By law we can’t go into the inspection area. We can’t even drive the car into the inspection bay which is a bit annoying because my jeep is a standard shift and only the owner of the inspection station knows how to drive a standard shift. The station doesn’t have a waiting area except for a couple of folding chairs outside.

Ok, but couldn’t they had been nice enough to build an indoors waiting place? After all the weather can be pretty nasty sometimes 🙂 🙂
