This was a good day to have off from work, the sun has been shining all day and it’s been around 23C (73,4F). The winds have been rather strong so that makes it feel a bit cooler. The weather predictions have varied quite a lot about the coming week and at the moment it seems as if we’ll get up to 30C (86F) during the weekend. I’m not happy about that but there’s nothing I can do about it.
A lot of people will love it though since we celebrate midsummer this weekend. Many will go to the beach, others will barbecue and some will start forest fires because they can’t use their brains and understand that open fires when everything is dry and hot aren’t such good ideas 🙂 🙂 🙂 We really should celebrate it today though since it is summer solstice now. Then again we won’t notice any change in daylight anyway since several days now are more or less just as long. Today the sun rose at 4 am and it will set at 10:16 pm. The only difference to Friday will be that the sun rise one minute later 🙂
I stopped at my favorite garden center on my way home and bought a couple of plants, two melon plants since the ones I have really doesn’t seem to grow at all and one Kiwi vine. It isn’t really hardy enough to grow here, close but no cigarr as they say but I’ll try and protect it from the worst cold if winter gets bad. That was bad luck for You though because I couldn’t find any parking spots in the shade so I couldn’t stop and take any photos for You and instead I had to drive home again. Well I’ll most likely take trip up there again during my vacation.
So tomorrow it’s back to work but only for two days since we don’t work on Friday. Midsummer is almost as big as christmas here and anyone who doesn’t have to work will not work.

You do have a lot of roses. Is it a lot of roses bushes or is it some incredibly large and flourishing bushes?
Today js a repeat of yesterday except with more big puffy white clouds floating by. It’s 72⁰F with warm sun and cool breezes. I wouldn’t call it a beach day as the water is still too cold for swimming. More of a great hiking day or horse riding day.
I gotte your hips passed inspection with flying colors.

Both 🙂 The three on the north side of my cottage are huge, well the one that now covers big parts of my patio on the south side isn’t that small either to be honest 🙂 🙂 Then I have at least eight slightly smaller ones 🙂 🙂
The right hip looked really good on the x-rays. Now they’ll check the blood they took from me so I don’t have too much metal in my blood. If that’s ok I won’t meet the doctor for three more years. He said that people who have had these kinds of hip implants for as long as I have and have had no problems with them will keep them till the bitter end. Good to know because even though I had no problems recovering from the surgeries it’s still nice not to have to do it again.
A bit chilly here today and a thick grey layer of clouds. Too bad it didn’t bring any rain. Tomorrow will be a nice and just enough warm day but the weekend will most likely be nasty hot.

You mentioned that the heat may be catching up to you soon, Christer, and it is expected to be here this weekend. Unlike other parts of the US and some other places, the temperatures have been very nice here in Nashua, NH, without any very hot days, only in the mid 80s (F). That will change on Sat and Sun when it fill reach in the 90s (F). This spike will be short lived and next week it will be back to what we’re having now.
I hope you enjoy the roses, which did look very nice and, of course, so many of them. Glad to read you are feeling better and that your hip is doing well. Wishing you a good holiday weekend.

The mid 80’s would be considered a heat wave over here 🙂 🙂 🙂 They say we might reach 84 as highest and I do hope they’re wrong. It also looks as if the heat will stay for a longer time than they first guessed. I’m quite happy if it doesn’t get any hotter than 77F.
I’m not a fan of roses but as long as they aren’t fussy I don’t mind them and the bees love them 🙂
