We’ve had a rather lovely day, sunshine almost all the time, some occasional clouds have passed by but I didn’t mind. The wind is weaker than before and today it was just cool enough when I mowed the lawn. Not that much of the wind reach the garden but the little that did was really nice.

We walked down to the creek this morning and then followed it up-streams and walked through the forest on our way back home again. I think we scared away some wild hogs but I could still feel the smell of them when we passed that place. It’s a good thing they rather run away than stay to see what’s walking up the road π π

I’ve also done the laundry and mowed the lawn so I feel that I’ve done more than enough for the day π When one plant a tree like I did the other day one must water at least ten liters of water every day for around ten days, even if it rains so that’s the only other thing I’ve done today. I was thinking for a while that I should bake a sponge cake or something like that but I didn’t have any baking powder and I didn’t have the energy to do anything else so instead I’ve longed for something sweet all day long π π

I watched the eurovision last night but I went to bed before the voting started. It was around 11:30pm by the time they had stopped singing and I have no idea for how long that program continued. Ukraine won as expected, United Kingdom came second, Spain third and our song fourth, not bad at all. The Italian song ended further down and I have to say that if one insists on singing big parts in falsetto like the Italian guys did one really should be able to do that without getting out of tune, it just sounds horrible π π π

Well I didn’t win the lottery this weekend either so I’ll go to work as usual tomorrow morning. The coming week will be rather warm, some days well over 20C (68F) but they are also guessing that there will be more clouds hanging around. I’m so glad I don’t work in the powder painting department any longer, it’ll be nasty hot in there already on Tuesday. I’ll be able to have an open gate when I paint so I’ll just enjoy the warmer days π

Have a great day!
Hi Christer,
I am very happy not to have to wonder about whether I frightened wild hogs away or not. I’ve only ever come across a domestic pig whose owner let her and her piglets loose to forage illegally in the adjacent state park. She was not pleased to see me and my horse and she was blocking the path to the exit. We had to retreat and go all the way around the park to come out on the other end of that same path.
The heat has gone away after one day and it’s lovely today. Sun and breezes and big puffy clouds and an extremely loud mockingbird that has been drowning out all the other birds. I think he’s on lunch break now. π
Have a great day. Sorry about the lottery.

Hi Caryn!
It is so much nicer not to have to worry about that π π π but I actually think domestic pigs are more stubborn and just as evil as the wild ones π π π
Sunny today but not as warm as they guessed it would be. Now they guess the warm weather will come on Wednesday. Unfortunately they are guessing we might get frost tonight and when it comes to things like that they’re usually right π π
I once had a woodpecker relative called GΓΆktyta who decided it should stay in my lilacs outside my bedroom and it is really loud and every evening and every night it started shouting. Imagine a very loud woodpecker that continues to sound hour after hour π π π I was close to ask a huntrer if he could shoot it π π π
I’ll take the lottery next time π π
Have a great day!
Christer.

I’d pay a hunter to rid me of that.
Mockingbirds will sing all night, too. It was thought they did it because they hadn’t found a mate but now it’s thought that it’s purely territorial. They’re singing off the challengers.
