Nothing much has happened since last time. Up in the morning, going to work, home again and then it feels like it’s time to go to bed again 🙂 Today the sun is shining and even though it is a bit cooler today it still feels warmer than previous days.

Alma is still in heat and she leaks like mountain spring, my cottage doesn’t smell nice at all. She has also started to pee at the same spot just before we get up in the morning (that doesn’t help with the smell at all), I do hope she stops with that as soon as this is over.

I think we actually can say that we’re in a drought now, it hasn’t rained (or snowed) in weeks now. Can’t say that the ground is especially dry though so I’m not sure if it can be called a drought then. For once we didn’t have frost this morning, it felt kind of odd not having to scrape ice from the car 🙂

We’ll have the Road association meeting next week, three years since we had that the last time. I think that was the only good thing about the virus 🙂 🙂 🙂 To be honest it usually doesn’t take that long, it all depends on who will be there and if they can behave 🙂 🙂 So many times people start to discuss other things than the road. If everything goes as we hope the meeting will be over in ten minutes and after that we’ll have coffee and cookies, buns or something similar for well over half an hour 🙂

Have a great day!

Hi Christer,
When Tegan was in heat, the vet prescribed some pills that are supposed to change the odor of the urine so it won’t attract male dogs or turn the lawn yellow. 🙂 It helped a little but urine is urine and it smells. There are also sanitary pads for dogs. I tried them on Tegan but they weren’t much good. I would have had to use a cone of shame to keep her from ripping them off. At least she didn’t leak like a mountain spring. But there were very many trips outside to attempt to yellow the grass. 😀
Can’t complain about free coffee and cookies or buns or whatever after a meeting. Have a good time.

Hi Caryn!
This is the last time she’ll ever be in heat, I’ll talk to the vet about it when it’s over. She’s so annoying that not even Albin can take it lots of times 🙂 🙂 🙂
Yes those pads that they eat as soon as they get a chance 🙂 🙂 🙂 The odd thing however is that she hasn’t escaped to meet the male dog sin the neighborhood, of which I’m very grateful 🙂
Cookies and coffee are never wrong 🙂
Have a great day!

Hi Christer, just spent some time catching up on recent posts on your blog, Christer. As much as i try to read blogs more than weekly, it never seems to happen. You have a lot more things in bloom than I have been seeing on walks around Nashua although the trees along Main Street are flowering now. It’s been so windy that I have not taken any photos and the blooms are blowing off fast. I have seen a few daffodils, tulips, and crocus as well as pansies in a pot by a storefront so spring is slowly arriving. Good to read that you have your car back and that it is quieter now.
As far as the issues with Alma being in heat, of course, there is a solution, but not sure if you have considered that for her or if you need to wait until she is a certain age. The odors in your house certainly must be quite unpleasant and hope it passes soon.

Hi Beatrice!
We are still at least two weeks after the village where I work. We will catch up soon though since it seems that our night frost will stay away, cloudy nights aren’t that bad sometimes 🙂
I will contact the vet as soon as this is over. I didn’t want to do it too early because I feel I did that with Albin and he stayed puppy like for way too long.
I only wish I could find that last spot where she has been, chlorine will taka care of that smell 🙂
Have a great day!
Christer.

Hi Christer,
We have a spring day then an in-between day which is neither winter nor spring. The worst is a windy day.
I love the colors appearing this time of year. My violets are blooming in the backyard. The day lilies get higher every day. My lawn is green in parts and mossy in other parts. At least it is green!
None of my dogs have gone in heat. I am quite glad for that. When I was a kid, my parents got a phone call that our dog Duke and his son Sam were at a house where a dog was in heat and no-one dared to go outside. My father had to get them both.
I bought a bottle of Nature’s Miracle smell remover. It even took away male urine smell. Maybe you can find it.
Take care!

Hi Kat!
It’s much the same here and it even drizzles some. The wind doesn’t reach us here though 🙂
All colors are so bright after the grey and dreary winter and now I’ll need to mow the lawn on Saturday.
All my girls have gone through it at least once but it’s just awful for all of us so a call to the vet will be made as soon as it’s over.
I don’t think we have that one over here but I’ll keep my eyes open!
Have a great day!
Christer.
