So a new place once again and now I have 99.98% left of space to use before I need to get a new place again 🙂 🙂 I have however actually paid for having the domain name locked to me, until now anyone actually could use the name Cottage by the Cranelake if they so had wished to. I chose this theme but that can change if I find any I like better later on 🙂

We’re having another sunny and beautiful day here, cold though and quite windy. I can hear the wind blowing but when I go outside nothing moves. the positive side of living at the bottom a slope, the negative side is that it is always a couple of degrees colder down here when it is cold. Then again it usually is hotter here as well on hot days so I guess it evens out even if it really doesn’t feel that way 🙂 🙂 🙂

I wanted to go out on the bog again this morning but since the dogs didn’t like it yesterday we instead walked down to the creek and back up to the little peninsula by the bog but some distance away from where we walked yesterday. Both Albin and Alma were staring towards the island all the time so I guess they still felt something was out there, Nova didn’t care at all and enjoyed the sunshine instead, just like I did 🙂

Besides that I’ve done very little. Napped for a while and I’ve had loads of tea. I’ve also thawed some soil so that I can plant a mango pit. I do that every now and again and the little tree thrives until winter comes and the air in the cottage gets too dry, then it lose all its leafs and dies. This year I think of trying having a see through plastic bag around it so that the humidity around it will stay high all the time.

I have made some ice cream but haven’t tested it yet. Vanilla and a french jam with four fruits in it and to make it taste more I also added some lemon juice and I do hope I poured in enough of it. I’ll know better in an hour or so 🙂 The dogs and I have also had pancakes for dinner 🙂 Something we all enjoy 🙂

Have a great day!
Hi Christer
Nice place you have. I like this design.
Those sparkling things are hard to catch. I’ve never succeeded. Same for when the early morning sun is lighting up the dew drops in the grass and they look like tiny balls of fire.
Along with the plastic cloche you could try sitting the mango on a tray of stones that has water in it. That will add extra moisture to the area around the plant. As long as you remember to check the fluid level, that is. I forget. 🙂
I hope the ice cream tastes even better than it sounds. Have a great evening.

Hi Caryn!
I changed the theme several times and I think this is the best one so far 🙂 Can’t make the photos any bigger though but if one open up them in a new page they turn out just enough big and then those sparkling dots can be seen much better 🙂 Yes those dew drops almost never got those fiery colors in photos.
It’s the problem with remembering to fill it up with water I have a problem with 🙂 🙂 🙂
I tried some of the ice cream yesterday but it hadn’t frozen enough yet but I feel that the next batch needs more lemon juice!
Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
These are great pictures. I can see your world is still a bit wintry, not much color yet. My backyard and the roughage between my house and my neighbor’s looks just like that. I was happy to see the yellow dafs this morning. I think I need to take a ride to see the gardens awakening.
My dogs are out for a long time. They are loving this weather. I watch Nala run the yard a few times. Gracie used to do that but has different route than Gracie did. She comes inside panting. Even Henry was out a while. Usually he is a house dog by choice.
Have a great Sunday!

Hi Kat!
This last round of colder weather really stopped everything, so annoying! The daffodils haven’t even started to show at all yet.
I normally just opened the door so the dogs could go in and out as they pleased but can’t do that again until the fence is higher. Alma really doesn’t understand that she isn’t allowed to jump over the fence to visit the rest of the world 🙂 🙂
Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer, I really like your new place. It is also easier to read the text on white. Here in Connecticut March has not really left. Very wet, gray and blustery today. Good day for homemade soup and bread. The cats are not moving from their respective favorite spots. They are likely dreaming of sunshine – and I hope that comes true tomorrow!

Hi bornfreev!
I’m glad You like it 🙂
I guess the weather we’re having right now is typical April weather here. April can be warm and sunny but it can also be cold and snow storm and very often a mix between them both 🙂 🙂 So far we’ve had sunshine and cold temperatures but tomorrow we may get a snow storm but if we’re lucky it’ll only be rain. The problem is that what ever it is that will be falling it will freeze during the night towards Tuesday and I’m not looking forward to drive on those roads.
Have a great day!
Christer.
