Category: Warm.

Another warm and sticky day, the morning was nice though and as long as we were out on our morning walk the sun shone and it was just enough warm. It was cloudy for a while after that so it continued to stay nice but as soon as the sun showed itself it went down hill 🙂

Then again that made the laundry dry up fast so I won’t complain too much 🙂 I’ve forgotten to make dinner for work next week but I did make pancakes for me and the dogs, I’ll eat oatmeal porridge at work tomorrow instead 🙂

The heat made me tired so we’ve actually had two long naps today, the first one in my recliner and that really is a great place to nap, the second one in my bed and I was joined by Alma and Malkolm I had started a timer so I wouldn’t sleep for too long but it felt nice to be in bed awake so we stayed there for quite some time 🙂 Normally I just get up and start doing what I am supposed to do so this was a nice change, that of course made me not doing what I had planned to do and therefore no dinner for work 🙂 but it is worth it 🙂

It will stay warm tomorrow until the evening when a cold front will fly in from west bringing cooler weather and lots of rain. I won’t mind the rain since it is quite dry in my garden. I really don’t want any cold weather for quite some time, or not at all but that won’t happen 🙂 The weather pattern has changed quite a lot though, winter used to start in late October and then, if it was really bad, continue in to May, I don’t miss that at all. Now winter comes as earliest in late February, stays a short while and then hopefully spring starts, this year we had summer in May instead, sort of normal rainy summer until August and now summer again in September 🙂 🙂

It is time for a couple of sandwiches and a cup of tea I think and then most likely dozing off in front of the tv 🙂

Have a great day!

We started our morning walk before the sun slowly started to rise up in the sky, around 15C (59F) and it felt like an early summer morning, even some birds sang. I wasn’t sure if there were hunters out in the forest because some of them were here yesterday evening. I wasn’t sure if it was to prepare for today or staying the night to hunt wild hogs and to be honest I was too lazy to check if the sign was up that they put up every time they’re out there, so we had a walk in the village instead. That also guarantees that we wont have to be creeped out by moose flies that has started flying around. I truly hate those flies!

I had hoped for some morning mist and even though I actually saw some it was in a sort of sad way, barely visible and only just above the ground in two places 🙂 🙂 🙂 OK one hovered over the old iron age graves and one was hovering over the old stone age tomb but that one was even harder to see. Nova, as always held her own pace, either far behind or far ahead 🙂 It is like she’s a bit ashamed to walk with us and rather not be seen with the rest of us 🙂 🙂

This is a sorry excuse for a morning mist 🙂 🙂
This one is even harder to see 🙂
Cranes moving south.

Since then the temperature has risen a lot, still nice outside because of a breeze but it is getting warmer and warmer now. So both the doors downstairs are closed and all drapes are covering the windows and doors to keep the heat outside but both windows upstairs are open because the breeze blows through the entire upstairs. It’s like a cool wind with a warm touch flows around us all.

I made a pie and used the apples from my seed sown apple tree and they really work good for pies. I had some vanilla ice cream to it so I must say that they day became a bit better while eating it 🙂 🙂 Not that the day has been bad in any way but pie always make even a good day better 🙂 Otherwise I’ve done very little besides watering those plants that need watering and I might do that again later today when the sun can’t reach the garden.

It is time to have something to eat and I still have some chicken and potato salad left from yesterday so I’ll share that with the dogs. After that I think I’ll have a short nap before it is time to give the dogs their dinner. Nova also wants to thank for the birthday wishes 🙂

Cikory.
Foxglove.
Morning glory.
This dahlia doesn’t look like any of the varieties I bought this spring but that’s what I like 🙂

Have a great day!

We aren’t allowed to have perennial Lupines in our gardens any more but these annuals aren’t bad to be honest.

The Hardy Kiwi has decided to start to flower, only it should have done that in spring.
I haven’t seen any butterflies close to the Butterfly bush yet 🙂 I do hope they’ll come before the frost takes them.

Today is her 18th birthday :-)

18 and still going strong 🙂

So this little lady moved here around 16,5 years ago. An animal rescue organisation called me one day, not especially long after I had had to say goodbye to my “little” girl Erna (she was in the same size as Alma is but the smallest in the pack 🙂 🙂 ) They asked me if she could come to me because the previous older owner had been hit by cancer. The organisation knew me because they got all the cut flowers that still was pretty but too old to be sold and they used those flowers to decorate old pet graves where the owners perhaps no longer were with us, this was back in the days when I had a Garden center.

I took some photos on my way to work this morning.

I really didn’t feel like it, it was too early after old Erna but they sent me a photo and Nova looked just like old Erna but half the size so how could I say no 🙂 🙂 Nova’s first year consisted mostly of abuse and starvation and living in a dark cellar all the time. After they had rescued her she then went to the older couple who really built her up to an amazing dog but to be honest a completely brat 🙂 🙂 🙂 Just as it should be after a start like that. So it took a while but the big and older dogs soon taught her to behave 🙂 🙂 🙂

She had this idea that hares are animals that should be eradicated from the surface of this planet so, since my dogs back then always walked without a leash, if I missed a hare out in the fields but she didn’t she always ran after them in high speed. Hares are smart though so she never caught any and I never had to worry about her getting lost because she either came back to me or back to the cottage 🙂 🙂 🙂 One day, when I had to have her on leash she saw a hare and ran after it, she didn’t come far and almost broke my wrist. That was the only time I’ve ever scolded her in her life and I must admit that when I scold I’m not quiet 🙂 🙂 After that she stopped caring about hares and I have always trusted her after that.

She’s had a 5 cm (2 inches) long tumor removed that grew between her right ear and eye so the eye was saved but her ear had to be closed, chronic ear infections, one vet said her ears were built to be infected, she has no cruciate ligament in her left knee but a cheap orthosis and duct tape keeps it together, so good actually that the vet was amazed and said I don’t know how You do it but continue with what ever it is 🙂 🙂 and she also has cancer but a “kind” one that mostly behaves like a fatty lump. It does spread bout so slowly that she won’t have any problems with it for as long as she has left. Then again she doesn’t seem to slow down especially much so who knows how log she’ll stay after all 🙂 🙂

With age she has become really fuzzy with what she will eat, can’t blame her 🙂 So at the moment she only eats boiled chicken and rice but allows me to also put in some of the dog food the other ton eat as well, not too much though because then she’ll refuse to eat anything 🙂 🙂 🙂 She also always wait to start to eat her food until she sees the two other is almost finished with theirs, she knows they aren’t allowed to touch her food (I stay close though because both Malkolm and Alma wouldn’t hesitate to push her away and eat her food themselves). She also takes her time to eat it and the other two stays close drooling until she’s had enough 🙂 🙂 🙂

She has never been a cuddly dog so the few times she has lately I’ve had a hard time sleeping because I always fear that that’s her good bye 🙂 🙂 🙂  So today they’ve all had some grilled chicken and they will all also have some extra treats (she will of course get more than the others but it can’t be shown, my life is really tricky 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

This is the pot with the self sown flowers. Canadian Goldenrod, catnip, Californian poppy and also an Aaron’s rod but I managed to break that stem .

It wasn’t much cooler today so the factory was nasty hot today, it’ll be slightly cooler tomorrow but now the ovens are building up the heat indoors. We do have two big gates where forklifts can go in and out of the factory but the problem is that the sun shines towards both almost all day, so it’s only when it is really windy it actually helps to open them up 🙂 🙂

I found these photos in the camera, must have taken them during the vacation I think.

No walk today either, the dogs didn’t want to go outside at all, they did follow me outside when I walked around watering all the trees I’v planted this year but as soon as I went towards the door to go inside they ran to be first indoors again 🙂 We did have a weak wind blowing so I opened up the windows upstairs but as soon as I did the wind died 🙂

The new shoots from the dead Persimmon hybrid, I will cover them with something to give them a better chance during our winter.

This and the one You can see behind it slightly towards the right are the Pawpaws I bought this spring.

The seed sown pawpaws. I think they still are confused about the year. They germinated the absolutely wrong time of year to be honest.

The first Black walnut I could find 🙂 I’m sure there are more but really tricky to find up there 🙂

I met a villager out running when I came home to the village. I can’t think it i especially healthy to do that in this heat. He also wore a back pack, ok a smaller one but still. Back in the days when I was out running almost every day I never ran if it was over 23C (73,4F), I would not have been able to carry that much water 🙂 🙂 🙂 Also I used to bike every day as long as it wasn’t colder than 0C (32F). I actually liked to bike when it was cold but I never could find gloves or mittens that could keep the cold away from my fingers and I hate cold fingers 🙂

They didn’t have the energy to play, only to eat apples 🙂

It is time for a last cup of tea and then bed I think, I start an hour earlier on Fridays so best not to stay up too late 🙂

Have a great day!

Heat record for September.

A couple of days old photos since we didn’t have our walk after work today.

We had another maintenance day at work so I managed to get out from work a couple of hours earlier again. Today was much like yesterday but the temperature rose to 30C (86F) so even if the wind was blowing it was much warmer than yesterday so I didn’t dare taking the dogs for a walk, Nova wouldn’t have made it far in the sunshine.

I cover all windows on the bottom floor with curtains so it is several degrees cooler in the cottage than outside when I come home from work. So the dogs have only been outside when they had to, after that they’ve mostly slept close to me. Not even Malkolm have had the energy to play at all. t’ll be much the same tomorrow they say but after that it will cool down slowly but steadily over the coming seven days, well that’s what they are guessing at least.

They had heavy thunderstorm closer to the coast all day but the winds from south kept those away from us, it was close though 🙂 Now it’s so quiet in the village, no one is outside but a few dogs, one just on the other side of the field beside my cottage and he barks quite a lot and I can hear a few from the other side of the village. To be honest it feels like in a movie from the deep south where the heat finally breaks people and murders starts to occur 🙂 🙂 🙂 The only things that really is missing are the cicadas, our katydids seems to have given up on making noise when it is as warm as it is 🙂 🙂 Since they started recording weather and temperature this is the hottest September day in history here.

I’m waiting for the ice cream van, should be here in half an hours. I haven’t heard it enter the village yet and it might even be a bit late since I guess lots of people wants to have ice cream in this heat 🙂

Have a great day!

Summer is back for a few days.

We had a maintenance day at work today so when I had done the things I was involved in I went home, no need to over do things at a place I won’t stay at. Almost 26C (78,8F), a clear blue sky and thankfully a rather strong and cool wind blowing. Normally I don’t take the dogs on walks when it is that hot but since the wind made it feel cooler we had a walk as soon as I had come home.

Hard to see the yellow crab apples beside the bright red rowan tree berries. Everything seem to ripe at the same time here now.

 b

We walked down to the creek and Nova walked off leashed all the way. We had to go back to find here quite often so at the end it felt like we had walked twice as long as we had 🙂 🙂 🙂 I wonder what had walked that way before us because she stopped every second meter (the same in yards) and stood there for quite some time. I had to leash her when we passed a field because she can barely hear anything ans it was hard to find her in the high vegetation 🙂 🙂 🙂

I thought it was Wednesday today so I’ve been longing for the ice cream van, guess if I feel disappointed now when I realize it won’t come until tomorrow!! Then again the temperature will rise up to 30C (86F) both tomorrow and on Thursday so I think I’ll need it more then 🙂 🙂 🙂 My apples that normally are ripe in late October early November are already ripe to eat. The seed sown apple tree is full of delicious apples and its mother, an Aroma apple, has fewer this year. No matter what I can’t eat that much apples so I’ll give my neighbors as many as they want, especially the kids loves apples so they even eat those normally rather sour wild apples growing beside the dog yard  🙂 🙂

Speaking of neighbors, the Beekeeper has now moved. The owner wanted an insane amount of money for that cottage (not even the realtor agrees on how much the owner wants for that place, said so to a customer who called and asked if there was any house for sale here and if realtors says so one really should listen to them 🙂 🙂 ) The Beekeeper found a house not far from here but up on the mountain and I do hope this is a place he can stay at to the day he himself wants to move elsewhere. I’ll miss him, good neighbors can be hard to find but so far I’ve been unusually lucky and I do hope I will continue to be so.

I’m rather tired today, I woke up three times last night. I drink a lot of water now so that was the first time I had to get up, second time one of the dogs had to go outside to poop and almost made it 🙂 🙂 and the third time it was the old lady who needed to pee but wasn’t really close to make it 🙂 🙂 🙂 She just wakes up, runs down to the door and hope I’ll be there, I’m a heavy sleeper so I rarely hear her walk down but Alma usually makes a lot of noise when Nova runs down, this time I had just fallen asleep again so no chance on me waking up  easily 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m so glad that this rarely happens 🙂 🙂

One of the Red mulberry trees I bought had one unripe fruit and I think we can call it a flower. Normally I’ve read that one need both male and female trees to get berries but now days there are trees that gives berries anyway but they can be either seed less or give seeds that won’t germinate.

My first ripe tomatoes 🙂 I doubt that I’ll get any more unless it stays warm for a very long time 🙂

My strawberries are flowering and gives me a few berries every week now 🙂

It’s time to go downstairs and watch some Paralympics. The Paralympics isn’t a big cash cow for the big tv channels so they sell those rights to PBS channels so we are lucky to be able to see it on our PBS, Swedish Television 🙂

The Aronia is cut down and it will start to grow again next spring. I have planted the first Red mulberry tree there as well, hoping the mulberry will grow faster and grow over the Aronia in the end.

Alma and I sat on the entrance stairs before the sun hid behind the trees, I drank a cup of tea and she looked through the gate on the cows that now has moved back too the pasture on the other side of the road, she doesn’t like them 🙂

Canadian Goldenrod, seen as invasive has self sown in a pot in my garden, really beautiful. WE had loads of it here back in the days but now it can’t compete with our native plants and we only have it in a few places.

Have a great day!

August was a shitty month but today it’s September.

Yesterday morning. Today there will be a mix of photos from today and yesterday.

I’m sorry about not writing anything these last days but I’ve been a bit under the weather so to speak. No not in pain the medication really did its job but they also gave me a slight fever and a very wobbly stomach. I’ve been so tired that beside walks with my dogs I’v mostly been either napping or watching tv. So since I can’t have this anti inflammatory medicine I’m not sure there is any left that I can use, August has really been a shitty month this year 🙂 🙂 🙂

Today however is September and it started sunny with only 2C (35,6F) outside. I must admit that I loved it when we were out walking in the village. It was a bit tricky to figure out what clothes one should wear since it would be really cold in the shadows but as soon as the sun hit it would start to boil inside. Very little shadow when walking there so I just wore a hoodie and normal trousers. I’m glad that I decided to close all windows yesterday because that night it was just slightly warmer and I woke up freezing in the middle of night. I really didn’t want to get up to close all windows so instead I called for the dogs so they could warm me up 🙂 🙂 🙂

They’re guessing that it’ll be really warm the coming week and so high temperatures at night that the risk of frost will be zero percent. Some places in this area did have frost during the night but for once it didn’t happen here, I sure hope it takes a long while because only two of my tomatoes are half ripe, the rest are still green. I also hope that I get them before the dogs do because I already had two ripe tomatoes but one morning when I went out to get them most of them were eaten by the dogs 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’ve also started to cut down my Aronia bush, I really can’t stand the berries (the dogs and birds love them though) because too many berries and a couple of winters with lots of snow have bent down the branches so much that they were laying on the ground. It was a bit tricky to remove each branch because they were all entwined with each other. I still have some to cut off but there’s no hurry to do that. It will grow up again so already next summer it will become a new little bush. However I was thinking of planting one of my Red mulberry trees there, if it grows fast enough it will soon be higher than the Aronia and I hope they’ll co exists well together.

At least two different varieties of apples hanging on this apple tree.

It is time to make some dinner, I haven’t had that much of an appetite lately 🙂 but I think I can have some pancakes, if not I can have them as dinner at work tomorrow. Just bring some jam and since they are just as tasty cold as warm it’ll be fine 🙂

The biggest of my five seed sown Giant Sequoias, they’ll spend the winter in the cool cellar.

I do hope the flowers open up on this Butterfly bush before the frost comes, won’t be many butterflies around though.

The white flowers on the Woodland tobacco really shines when it’s getting dark around it and the smell is amazing.

My Christmas cactus loves staying outdoors all summer.

Have a great day!

Seed pods from a day lily.

Nothing much has happened here these last days. We’ve had some rain and we’ve had some sunshine and that’s it. I am working with the same things as always and will continue to do so until the day I’m leaving, on Friday the 13th 🙂 🙂 🙂 Friday the 13th has always been a lucky day in my family so if that means anything that’ll be the day something is going to happen 🙂 🙂

Creeping bellflower.

Jerusalem artichoke.

Alma has been unusually challenging when we’re out walking, I guess it is because she’s at the end of her being in heat. Today I finally had a witness to how she can be on our walks, the beekeeper walked with us for a short while, as he said: It seems she’s full of, well something 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m still confused to how a dog can be so different on walks towards how she is here at home. She’s an angel here at home (ok she do steal food from us all and can reach everywhere to do so -) 🙂 ) but more like an insane demon while we’re out on our walks 🙂 🙂 🙂 The longest I’ve ever seen her concentrate on anything is twenty seconds, yes I count the seconds every time she actually finds anything interesting 🙂 after that she’s all over the place again. Here at home she’s calm, does what I ask of her andlooks after old Nova so that she’s ok, a totally different dog. I’m sure she has dog adhd 🙂 🙂

This apple isn’t what You would call a crab apple, instead it’s a species of apple, Malus sylvestris, that we call Wild apple. Barely edible because it’s so sour but it pollinates all other apple varieties and works amazingly well to make a delicious jelly from.

Well I guess it’s time for that last cup of tea for the day and then fall asleep in front of the tv 🙂

I tried the first apple from my seed sown apple tree, not quite ripe yet but oh so delicious! So anyone who tells You that seed sown apple trees only give sour and bitter apples really don’t know what they are talking about!

Have a great day!

We were supposed to have lots of rain today and we certainly have had lots of it. A more constant rain in the early morning but more heavy showers for the rest of the day. We have also had lots of sunshine but being outside was a bit troublesome since one never could see when the showers arrived 🙂

If this tree had fallen in the wrong direction my neighbors cars would have been hit. It fell towards the dog yard but didn’t reach it from what I could see.

The crab apples in the forest are slowly turning red. These taste really nice but have a slightly bitter after taste.

We did manage to have a morning walk in the forest though, no hunters would willingly go out just to get caught in rain over and over again 🙂 Strong winds during the night and I woke up by a loud crack while the rian hit my cottage. I didn’t think much of it to be honest but when I noticed that a huge tree beside the dog yard had broken and half the tree now was lying on the ground I thought it was that I had heard. Turns out that I was wrong, the tree had broken the day before when the storm passed by, what I had heard was the lightning hit nearby. Turns out I had several lightning warnings on my phone that I hadn’t noticed 🙂

I couldn’t see any damages in the forest though. I did see lots of mosquitoes, they were all over us but it looks like the fly season has ended. More flies will come and those are Moose flies, nasty little monsters to be honest, almost impossible to kill and they do have a nasty bite even though they rarely do bite.  If we’re lucky last winter killed lots of the larvae plus it has been so wet that lots of the larvae who lives in the ground and pupae have drowned this year. We have had fewer ticks this year because of the weather so I do hope it’s the same with the moose flies.

I’ve done my chores today and we’ve also had our pancakes, this time I had my home made strawberry jam 🙂 There was almost nothing left of the cherry jam. After that we had a long nap, at least two hours. I did wake up every now and again because the back wasn’t happy when I tried to move 🙂 I haven’t made dinner for the entire week at work though, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to eat so I just took what I had in the fridge and that will last for two days, better than nothing 🙂

It is time for a cup of coffee I think, normally I only drink tea but sometimes one feel that need of an extra kick from caffeine 🙂 I can’t say that the long nap helped to make me feel more energetic so I doubt some coffee will keep me up all night 🙂

Have a great day!

Autumn flowering strawberries?!

I did see the sun slowly rising above the forest when I woke up so the first thing we did was to have our morning walk. It didn’t take long before clouds covered the sun but the walk was quite nice anyway. WE walked in to the village again and today one of the dogs was outside when we passed.

This was the last we saw of the sun while we were out walking but it did come back for a long time later in the day.

If I as a human would walk on old stone age tombs or move a single stone they would arrest me but cattle can damage it as much as they can and the owner wouldn’t risk being arrested 🙂

We have quite a lot of crab apples in the village, these apples taste horrible 🙂 🙂

I was so glad to see that all my dogs behaved perfectly while the dog we passed barked like crazy, it was especially fun to see how the owner opened the door to try and quiet the dog, didn’t work at all 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I must say that Alma’s behaviour has become so much better. Ok she pulled the leash a lot after all that excitement but she didn’t make even the tiniest sound and that’s a huge change. Malkolm did sort of bark twice but since Alma and Nova were quiet he stopped as well. Really good for a seven month old puppy 🙂

The branch doesn’t look that big but it was and it was quite heavy as well 🙂

The only problem I’ve had today is my back. My immune system attacks my spine (and most of the cartilage in my joints, slowly but steadily, I got my first hip implant when I was 38) and most of the time I can take it but times like today it’s just nasty. The best thing I can do is to move use my back a lot and after a while the pain goes away, so today I picked up things that had flown around in the storm yesterday, I even moves away a big branch that fallen down on the gravel road and also watering the trees and bushes with the big water pitcher. Didn’t that hurt You might ask? Yes like insanely but now in the early evening it feels much better 🙂 Tomorrow and several mornings ahead will be much the same but this will pass. I can’t take any anti inflammatory medicines because I destroyed my stomach with one of those, it was amazing as long as it lasted though 🙂

This little oak always have lots of acorns even when other trees haven’t.

I went outside in the storm yesterday just before it went dark. I already knew I had planted my Black walnut way too close to the cottage, I did that just because I never thought it would survive 🙂 🙂 17 years now and it still stands 🙂 🙂 However when we have winter storms it doesn’t move that much but with all leafs still on it it almost reached the roof of the cottage, not good! I really don’t want to remove it but I might have to in a year or two. What worried me more though was the two huge Birches over at my neighbors, if they fall half of my cottage will follow them to the ground 🙂 🙂 🙂 Well I have home insurance so I’ll get another one built up if that would happen. The only thing is that my bedroom would be the first thing they hit 🙂 🙂 🙂

My Hardy Hibiscus finally shows the colors of the coming flower.

I seem to have autumn flowering strawberries, didn’t know that excisted, so I’ll pick each ripe berry when they are ready and put them in the freezer.

A few Apples had fallen off as well so I bent down and picked them up, took a bit longer to stand up straight again 🙂 🙂 and went in and made an apple crumb pie, it tasted so yummy 🙂 I did add some coconut to it and that made a big difference.

It is raining outside, it isn’t supposed to but what does the rain care about that? It’s a misty rain, You know the kind that looks like mist or fog and that always eat its way through the clothes no matter how You dress. They’re guessing it’ll be like that most parts of tomorrow as well so it’ll be a perfect day to take a long nap 🙂

Have a great day!

I took this photo on my way to work one morning, nothing special a Roe deer in a field but take a look behind it.

I never saw the giant Red deer standing in the shadow by the trees just behind it 🙂 🙂 🙂

A storm passing by.

The weather was rather nice this morning while I drove to work but not so nice when I drove back home. Now there’s a storm passing by, it rains on and off plus the sky is mostly evenly grey. The dogs are outside only when they really need to do their business and then runs straight back indoors again. It’s fairly warm though so even if we’re closing in to when we normally have our first frost I’m pretty sure it won’t come tonight 🙂 I’ve just taken a look at the weather sites and all show that nights will be so warm that there’s no risk of frost the coming ten days 🙂

The storm will have passed already tonight so with a bit of luck we’ll have a pretty nice morning walk with a chance of sunshine. I don’t have high hopes about the sunshine though, the sun usually only start to show when we’re almost at home 🙂 🙂

People at work are already giving me tips on where they might need more people and the atmosphere at work has never been as bad as it is right now but I know for sure that they won’t change their minds about me. I’m still not worried the least though because I’ll take any job there is as long as the work hours aren’t during nights. One thing annoyes me even though I know people mean well, many have said that they miss me already 🙂 🙂 🙂 For heavens sake can’t they wait to do that until I’m actually gone 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m still talking to everyone every day after all 🙂 🙂 🙂

No new photos today because of the weather but I do have old analog photos (for those who don’t know what I mean with that, I quite often use the old film cameras and I have loads of those photos here in my computer) I can show and also made a folder called “For a rainy day”. Today is a rainy day so that works fine 🙂 It is time for a last cup of tea for the day and after that perhaps watch some tv, well I tend to fall asleep in front of the tv to be honest but that’s just as good or perhaps even better than to watch what’s on the telly 🙂

These photos are taken with an old camera called Agfa Flexilette. It was never popular to be honest. It’s a twin lens reflex camera and that means that one is looking through a separate lens via the view finder but take the photo with a separate lens beneath the view finder.  Here’s a link to Google that will show photos of that camera: Flexilette

Have a great day!

Warm.

I’ve found more Hazelnuts 🙂

It took two days to mow the lawn, it was just too warm to do it all during one evening. Today was even warmer but with almost no sunshine. Too warm to have a walk especially for Nova. I was worried for a while that she was near her end but then suddenly she started to eat a lot again (I boil chicken and rice only for her and since there’s almost no fat in chicken I also give a hand of a special food for senior dogs) so now she’s almost back to normal again 🙂

Four different colors on the five Petunias that germinated late this summer. There’s a fifth one that still not shows any flowers but it’s on its way 🙂

The cattle is now walking in the pasture behind my cottage. Alma hates cattle, the first time she saw them she ran straight into the electric fence. It was of course my fault but she forgave me quickly but she has not forgiven the cattle 🙂 🙂 🙂 Malkolm isn’t that happy about them either but he is happy to just bark towards them 🙂 No herding instincts shows so he hasn’t inherited that from the brodercollie that he’s 50% of. He’s more like a English Cockerspaniel that loves to follow tracks and much like Golden retriever when it comes to how he behaves otherwise and how he looks. Very much cockerspaniel head though.

The English walnut, a better photo than I had the last time.

Aronia berries, if You love tart and very bitter berries these are the ones for You. No ammount of sugar can make them taste good but the birds and Alma loves them 🙂 🙂

My seed sown apple tree. Delicious apples but they are easily attacked by fungus.

Finally! Bell peppers on the way 🙂

He is a very soft dog in his behavior, loves to meet new people but shows clearly that he isn’t dangerous. If I call he comes immediately even though he sometimes walks very slow 🙂 🙂 🙂 Learns easily except for when it comes to putting on a harness 🙂 🙂 Even Alma has started to understand that, only took three years 🙂 🙂

Every morning when I let them out in to the garden both Alma and Malkolm runs straight to the gate, looks over it and down on the ground, when they don’t see what they think should be there Alma runs a few laps in the garden while Malkolm follows Nova. I couldn’t understand what it was they were looking for until I was going to mow the outside parts of the grass. The badger that was climbing over the fence at nights here now instead follows the fence around the garden, I can now see the typical little shallow holes in the ground they make while digging for insects and slugs 🙂

It is time for a last cup of tea and then see if there’s anything worth to watch on tv.

Have a great day!
