And even more old photos.

Image000_1
There was a pond just a few yards away from where I lived before I moved here and the dogs and I always walked there every day.

I looked through my old Cd’s with photos and I managed to get some from the old laptop (because my little computer hasn’t any cd player) and mailed them to myself Some of the old Cd’s weren’t compatible with windows 64 or something like that so I couldn’t download them but I was able to look at them anyway. Too bad because then You could have seen the cottage I lived in before moving here.

This was Orvar, not the Orvar who lived with me here. This one went to live with a trotting coachman and spent all his days around horses.

This one You saw yesterday but this photo is slightly better.

Today was supposed to be sunny and warm but most of the day has been cloudy and a bit chilly. We didn’t have any frost during the night though so that’s something. I’ve been tired all day because for some reason I kept on waking up several times during the night. Have no idea why and I did fall back to sleep in seconds. A bit annoying but I’ll catch up with sleep again now when it’s weekend.

I need to make my fence higher so that Alma can’t jump over. It doesn’t matter if it is people who lives on this little side road but she’s big and if one doesn’t know her she can look dangerous. Ok she doesn’t even walk towards anyone she doesn’t know but if one is worried about dogs that info isn’t worth a lot 🙂 🙂 I’ll also need fencing in my vegetable patches, Albin has a tendency to eat everything I plant and sow if it is edible 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I’ll start looking online tomorrow, the fence itself isn’t that expensive but the fence poles ars so I’ll look for some kind of substitute, like common wooden rules that I’ll paint so they can stand the weather.

The photos doesn’t come in any particular order, like age or so. It tends to be that the smaller they are the older they are. I can’t remember the password so I can’t reach the photos from my oldest blog unfortunately.

I have nothing much to say really, the wetaher has been nice but today is a bit chilly and we even had some drizzle on my way home and a while after I had come home.

Work has been flowing nicely and I have had the big gate open when ever I’ve had the chance, like today when I cleaned some things I was about to paint. The sun was shining then and all that nice warm sunshine filled the place.

The swallows have arrived and they nest beneath the roof just outside where I paint and where all goods are delivered or shipped away. I do like them but they poop a lot and it’s hard to remove after just an hour or so. Plus they can spread salmonella with their poop so mask is always worn when cleaning it off.

Nothing much has happened since last time. Up in the morning, going to work, home again and then it feels like it’s time to go to bed again 🙂 Today the sun is shining and even though it is a bit cooler today it still feels warmer than previous days.

Alma is still in heat and she leaks like mountain spring, my cottage doesn’t smell nice at all. She has also started to pee at the same spot just before we get up in the morning (that doesn’t help with the smell at all), I do hope she stops with that as soon as this is over.

I think we actually can say that we’re in a drought now, it hasn’t rained (or snowed) in weeks now. Can’t say that the ground is especially dry though so I’m not sure if it can be called a drought then. For once we didn’t have frost this morning, it felt kind of odd not having to scrape ice from the car 🙂

We’ll have the Road association meeting next week, three years since we had that the last time. I think that was the only good thing about the virus 🙂 🙂 🙂 To be honest it usually doesn’t take that long, it all depends on who will be there and if they can behave 🙂 🙂 So many times people start to discuss other things than the road. If everything goes as we hope the meeting will be over in ten minutes and after that we’ll have coffee and cookies, buns or something similar for well over half an hour 🙂

Sune and Hector. This was taken nine years ago.

So early this morning I remembered the old swedish blog I once had and started to look through all the photos and lots of memories popped up 🙂 I could see how it once looked here and many of the dogs (and cats) that once lived here. I realized that Sune would have been ten years old now if cancer hadn’t taken him.

It’s much more open here now when they’ve cut down most of the older big spruces, for good and bad of course but I can say that we have lots more small birds in the forest nowdays. There were fewer dogs back then so even if the dogs back then hadn’t loved other dogs that would not have been any problems since we never met anyone on our walks. They did however love anything alive 🙂

Their daughter had her birthday yesterday and there was cake cookies and buns that hadn’t been consumed 🙂 I’m not the one to say no thank You if coffee and cake is offered 🙂 I do live in the best part of this village, it isn’t many people here that freely would hang out with their neighbors like this 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m pretty sure that most people have forgotten what it was that made them dislike each other so much that they never more wanted to talk to each other.

I also did my taxes this morning, the last day is tomorrow and to be honest now days it’s so easy that I really could have done them as soon as it was possible. Took a bit longer than I thought though, ten minutes, since something stopped the Internet identification app to work twice. normally it would just have taken five minutes 🙂 I also did the laundry but I didn’t have a lot since I already had done most of it earlier since I was waiting for my car to be fixed and was at home.

We’ve had a rather wonderful day today. Sunny with the occasional cloud until the afternoon when more clouds arrived but it is still pretty nice and warm outside. Also the night was frost free, which is a bit odd since the sky was clear and usually clear nights this early in the year means nightly frost.

We went out on our morning walk a bit later than normal, I did wake up by myself but that didn’t mean I wasn’t really tired all morning 🙂 They have started to show the great moose migration now so I watched that for a while (for those of You who don’t know what this is, it’s cameras stationed at the same place every year showing how moose migrate north when winter is over. We also see a lot of other animals of course and this is called slow tv), something  they do every year and the fun thing is that I can hear the same kind of birds singing through the tv as I can if I open the door 🙂 🙂

After that I’ve sown some more seeds, annuals outdoors because they’ll germinate when they feel it is the right time and some berry plant seeds that still need to stay indoors until we know the risk of night frost is over. I also dug up a Wisteria. I thought it died three winters ago but it resurrected last summer and grew terrible fast and slid up beneath the tiles on the roof. I really can’t have that so today I cut it down. I managed to get two big pieces of roots with a climbing stalk on each and thought why not plant them where they’ll do no harm?

I planted one beside the crabapple tree with the big magpie nest. We call wisteria here for Blue Rain so I planted it beside the tree we call Gold Rain, The Laburnum. I could work all by myself without the dogs because my neighbors little daughter has her birthday today and lots of people would come. Since Albin and Alma really can’t behave, Albin would run up and down beside the fence huffing and puffing while Alma would start barking and then jump over the fence so she can bark a bit more before jumping back to star all over again 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I said that I’ll bring in the dogs while people will be arriving, my neighbors thought it was unnecessary because they all love dogs but I said that today none of us on this side of the fence would be the center of attention after all 🙂 🙂 🙂

The magpie nest is really big now but it doesn’t look as if they’ll use it this year. I rarely see magpies in the garden now days.

It’s so nice to have my own car back again and it is for the first time since at least before christmas very quiet again 🙂 So now I’ll be able to hear all those new strange sounds I haven’t been able to hear since then either 🙂 🙂 🙂

It didn’t feel that cold this morning, 3:30 am (well perhaps late night is a better word for it 🙂 )when I opened the door to let the dogs outside but it was actually -5C (23F). I could see that the sun was on it’s way up, not exactly on the way up but I could see where it would go up a bit later on. The birds were singing and there was no wind at all and I guess it was the absence of wind that made it feel so nice.  I hadn’t become warm enough for me to not scrape ice from the when I drove to work at 4:40 am but the ice was so soft that it didn’t take more than a couple of seconds to get rid of it.

The other week I bought a new kind of food for Nova and Alma because they had been a bit wobbly in their stomachs, the new food fixed it but then Nova decided that she wouldn’t eat it 🙂 🙂 🙂 So now I had to buy a new small bag with the old food again so that she would eat again. Treats were no problem though and I think she even considered to eat Albins food, just as long as she didn’t have to eat the new one 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ll see if I can find another kind that her stomach tolerates and she will eat as well.

DSC_0005 (14)
I think this is a Cherry plum tree and it has started to flower way too early, the flowers are destroyed when we have frost at night so no plums if all opens up too early.

Besides our walk I’ve done very little the rest of the day. I stopped by the grocery store on my way home and bought, besides food, three lavender. The ones I had died this winter. I also noticed that they now sell berry bushes! They didn’t have a lot but I think it is a step in the right direction. I might even buy some next week just to encourage them 🙂 I’ve also napped for quite some time after we had eaten 🙂 I’m still nasty tired though so I’ll have at least one cup of tea after writing here because I doubt that cup will have any chance what so ever to keep me up this coming night, if it will I have a good book that I’m reading to keep me company 🙂

The Daffodils (we call them easter lilies) had started to flower in Falköping. Here at home I can see one bud so far.

So on Monday afternoon they called me from the garage and told me that they had found an oil leak and wondered if I wanted to get it fixed now or later. I said now and they said good, You can get Your car on Tuesday after 1pm. No problems for me, I just called my work place and told them what had happened and they never complain when things like that happens.

So I start walking at 11:30 to catch the bus that goes to Falköping at 12:39. Apparently my spine is a bit inflamed which I didn’t know, so after a while it squeesed some nerves that goes all the way down my leg and the walk is 45 minutes long in a good day, yesterday wasn’t a good day at all and I limped badly the last meters to the bus stop but I did make it. After that it’s a fifteen (in a good day) minute walk uphill to the garage. I did reach it after 35 minutes, limping even more bad 🙂 🙂 🙂 I open the door and they guy sitting there says we didn’t get that spare part this morning 🙂 🙂 🙂

We will however get it this afternoon. At that moment I actually wondered if it was worth going to jail for the rest of my life after killing him for not giving me a call at all to tell me that 🙂 🙂 🙂 I think he could feel that so then he said But we have a car You can borrow. It’s really good to drive but You mustn’t remove the ignition key when You’ve stopped. I so wish I had asked why I couldn’t do that because every time I had stopped the car I really, really wanted to pull out that key to see what would happen 🙂 🙂 🙂 No problem at work really and absolutely no problems here at home since people can’t find this place even with a map or a GPS 🙂 But I wanted to stop by the store on my way home and some people in that village wouldn’t think for a second before that had stolen that car, a small Renault by the way.

I took this from the bus on my way home. A bit too dark because it’s almost impossible to see the Abbey ruin beside the church.

So every time I left the car I just placed my fleece jacket over the steering wheel so that no one could see the key sitting there. So I had the car until this afternoon when I finally could get my own car back. I must say that the little Renault was quite nice to drive but the seat was so hard that my back started to act up again. I’m glad that I finally understood how the fan and heating worked because we had frost again this morning. The rest of the day has been really nice though, lots of sunshine and warmer winds. I could have the door open to the painting box as well. Another good thing is that my work friend has come back from his paternity leave. Both because I’ve missed him but also because I finally don’t have to do his job 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ll still go through all the nozzles in the big washing machine every Friday morning because he can’t leave his little boy at the day care center so early in the morning. I like that part a lot because that means I’ll still have my going home early Fridays 🙂 🙂

Here there was a yellow apartment building, it was still there when I moved here. There was also a shop(since long closed) and I think an old garage as well. All the old root cellars that all the villagers had are still there though on the other side of this road.

It isn’t that long ago people lived in these houses. Too bad the castle owners didn’t know that the pandemic would have risen the price on them so much that it would have been a really great idea to renovate them. The pandemic made people realize that living in the middle of nowhere actually would be a great idea since it is harder to get infected 🙂

We had a really nice weather yesterday, sunshine, little wind and rather warm, especially in the sunshine. I couldn’t enjoy it especially much though. I did think it smelled a bit strange when I made some pancakes on Sunday and it might have been one of the eggs that had started to turn bad. I woke up at 4 am and hurried down to the bathroom because I thought I was about to throw up. I never did but the rest of the day wasn’t the funniest I’ve ever had 🙂 🙂 🙂

I didn’t eat all day but I did drink a lot of rose-hip soup. That also made it possible for me to drive to the garage today because there were no risk what so ever that I would have to find a toilet during the time I was in Falköping 🙂 I asked them if they knew if they would start with my car early or late in the day because if they would start late I better take the bus home and go there the first thing tomorrow morning, so we decided it was better for me to go home and come tomorrow morning.

The garage is at the top of a mountain called Ã…lleberg and the bus/ train station is at the bottom of it so it was an easy walk 🙂 I was waiting for the bus in the cold wind and suddenly it arrived at a time it shouldn’t. Turns out it was the bus I thought I’ve missed that arrived rather late 🙂 Good for me but not for the bus driver. I jumped off the bus at the lake and there are still some cranes there and after that I had the 45 minute long walk home. I was supposed to call the garage just before 5pm to check if they were ready with my car but they beat me to it. Turns out that the car is leaking oil so some kind of seal has to be changed. I’ve looked on the net and it’s actually something very cheap??!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Well I guess they’ll need to pour in new oil as well but the seal itself is very cheap 🙂 So now we’ve decided that I’ll get my car after their lunch hour, at 1pm. I’ll drive to work after that, it takes around 45 minutes so I won’t be there for long before my working day is over 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’m so lucky to have that understanding employers! To be honest, living at the outskirts of the world as I do is tricky when the car needs to go to the garage, I actually would have to have two cars to make it work smoothly but with our prices on everything that would be more or less impossible. I sowed twenty kernels of corn in a small container about a month ago and they have all grown together, so today was the day I needed to do something about it. They are quite big now and that helped. I filled a bucket with water and after that I just put the entire lump with corn plants and soil in it. It took around an hour but finally the soil was so wet that I could separate them from each other so now I’ll just plant each and everyone of them in separate pots. Have no idea where I’ll place them because even though the pots are small they will need a lot of space 🙂

The cooler temperatures will slow down the growing but no dog will be able to chew them down 🙂 My brother’s cherry plum tree is in full bloom now, he lives by the coast. So I took a look at mine and it turns out that a few of its flowers also are open now. I have also over compensated for the pain so now I’m a bit lopsided 🙂 My left shoulder is placed way higher than my right and I also have a pain in my neck and behind the shoulder blade. These new exercises should help with that and I’ll continue with those I’ve already have done for two weeks. I’ll see her again in three weeks.

We went out to the bog today, Nova didn’t want that at all so she sort of dragged behind all the time we were out there, Albin and Alma behaved just the opposite. It turned the other way when we went homewards again, Albin and Alma dragged behind and Nova did what she could to hurry us up 🙂 🙂 I have no idea why Nova didn’t want to walk out there because it was really pleasant and none of the other dogs seemed to smell anything that could be unpleasant for them, like pigs or moose or wolf because there are at least one roaming around in the county and we now have a pack in a neighboring county as well.

Besides that very little has happened here. I’ve had plenty of tea but still managed to doze off in front of the tv 🙂 To be honest they don’t show much quality tv in the middle of the day so that could be the one of the reasons I managed to fall asleep so fast 🙂

Have a great day!

I remember when I had normal dogs :-)

These photos are a couple of days old now.

We’re having the same nice weather today, almost 20C (68F) but with a slightly stronger wind. The wind was perfect at work because I could have the door open when ever I didn’t paint anything 🙂 Too bad that cooler, less sunny and perhaps slightly rainy weather is on its way, I’ve really enjoyed these spring days.

Two days ago we passed a filed where the farmer was harrowing a field. He wasn’t even close to us but Alma and Albin decided that he probably was evil and would attack us any minute so they began screaming like insane. Today the farmer is doing the exact same thing in the cow pasture just outside my cottage and none of them gives a s it about it 🙂 🙂 🙂 They didn’t even look towards the tractor 🙂 🙂

I did get extra tired of them yesterday though, not Nova because she really knows how to behave because she is the queen of course. We walked down the road and I thought that we would walk down to the creek. Suddenly a woman with two very well behaved dogs walked around some spruces. We both stopped and then she called and said she would take the forest road instead and I managed to shout back than You before Alma and Albin started.

Albin started with that strange sound many pitbulls have, something between a growl and a scream. Sounds a bit charming when You see and hear it in a video, not charming at all when You stand beside him 🙂 🙂 Alma then let go of her sound that sounds much like I’m tearing her legs off. It actually sounds like she’s in bad pain and that dog has huge lungs and sounds a lot. I do wonder what the woman was thinking when she passed us behind the trees around twenty meters (much the same in yards) away from us.

Then suddenly they both decided to howl like wolves!!! Alma started and Albin thought it sounded great so he started also and all I could say was Oh god why can’t You two behave like normal dogs 🙂 🙂 🙂 Of course they then behaved like they were on amphetamine the entire walk and I was so tired when we came back home that I fell asleep as soon as I sat down. I really should have stayed in the recliner because I slept really well there 🙂 🙂 🙂

Tomorrow I’ll go to the physiotherapist again. My shoulder is better in some way but actually worse in others. I have no idea what that means but I guess it’s not a good thing, it usually isn’t. A wheel bearing, I think, is slowly giving up in my car so I’ll go to the garage next Tuesday. I have heard a sound for a while now but haven’t been able to figure out what it could be. Wheel bearings usually takes their time, even if they can sound really bad, before they give up so I’m not especially worried.

Have a great day!

Pretty good for being a Tuesday.

So easter is over and it was so fun, allergies and a cold really gave that golden lining we all love at long holiday 🙂 🙂 🙂 I did go to work today but went home an hour early just because I could and was really tired. Turns out that lots of people at work had gotten this cold as well so many were at home.

The weather has been really nice and I could enjoy it quite a lot because now when I paint with normal paint I can open the big door and let the sunshine in while the things I’ve painted are drying. The place I paint in now is more or less looking like a garage where a bus easily can fit and there would still be space for a small car 🙂

I really can’t say that my shoulder is much better but some movements hurts less while others hurt more, I’ll go to the physiotherapist on Friday again and then she’ll decided if I’ll continue with other exercises or if a doctor needs to take a look at my shoulder. I do hope she thinks that more exercises will help because one way or the other a doctors appointment will hurt, sooner or later.

A good news however is that my work friend who has been on paternity leave for almost six months will start working next week so I will not have to take care of the huge washing machine any more. It takes at least two hours to check it and change filters and so on every day and I’m really tired of it now. It also makes it a bit difficult to manage to paint all the things I need to paint at my new job.

Alma has actually behaved pretty well these last three days. Now when she understands that I’m getting a bit annoyed (pretty angry to be honest) with her pulling and running around everywhere at the same time she starts to walk behind me for a short while. That was how it started with Albin and the end of him pulling the leash. The screaming as soon as she see something move is still there though but one thing at a time and we’ll might solve that too 🙂
