The flu.

So I have the flu or something very similar, every single fiber Β in my body has been aching, especially in my thighs and it really hurts while walking in stairs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Not so great when the computer and bedroom is upstairs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It still would most likely hurt really bad but I’m putting on anti inflammatory ointment and it helps enough so that I can hav walks with the dogs and get to the bedroom without wondering if it wouldn’t be better to just sleep in my sofas πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

To be honest it also helped a lot by walking the dogs, terrible in the beginning, got easier the more we walked and it felt almost normal when we arrived back home again. However an hour or so later it felt worse than before πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’m freezing like a doge every no and again, not especially sour in my throat but almost no coughing, so far that is. So this could have been far worse to be honest.

Between walks very little has been done though, lots of resting and tea drinking and watching tv programs I haven’t enjoyed and I’ve also read a lot. I only wish I’ve had some rose-hip soup at home so I’ll make sure to buy some next time I’ll go to the store. Warm rose-hip soup with tiny almond biscuits/cookies (when asking google about the name it suggested almond macaroons but to be honest I don’t think that fits at all) they’re only 1cm (two fifths on an inch) big and not in two pieces as macaroons always seems to be. They more or less only works with rose-hip soup or as a sort of snack to be honest πŸ™‚

Yesterday we had a nice thick fog almost all day and today we’ve had a grey and dull weather bit with frost instead. We were supposed to have fairly much snow but only had a dusting and that’s just enough. Still a long time till spring but I don’t mind if it comes early and I really don’t want a snowstorm like we had last April, the snow melted away after a week and then spring sprung but I still didn’t like it even though it happened when Malkolm just had arrived and I was forced to have a week of vacation since I couldn’t leave a puppy in the dog house/ yard in there while I was working.

I think it is time for that last cup of tea for the day and then find that book again. I think I finally have found a way to move the photos from the editing program to the blog, I’m crossing my fingers and holding my thumbs for good luck πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

I think most of the photos I use today were taken yesterday when the world still looked frozen and frosty white. Well Sara as well of course.

The cold and wind free days are over and now we have windy but warmer days instead. The only thing I’m not happy about is how much dirtier the floor becomes πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Still I prefer warmer weather. I have been born in the wrong part of the world, I should have been born in aΒ  warmer climate where it stayed around 20 C (68 F) all year round πŸ™‚

I would like to say this was taken in the early morning but it was already 9:25 am.
I never picked that last squash in the vegetable garden πŸ™‚

Β

Today we must have had some rain during the night and the rest of the day, except for a few minutes, the sky has been evenly grey. Now the sky is clear, the full? moon is bright in the sky and therefor it’ll be cold during the night. Tomorrow the day will be cloudy again and I wonder why it always happen that way and not cloudy nights and sunny days? πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I’ve done some laundry today and right now I’m waiting for my french rolls to cool down so I can have one or two before falling asleep in front of the tv πŸ™‚ I’ve had some fun with clay for a couple of days now and have had really fun. I’ll show You when it is done. It isn’t beautiful in any way πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ but I’ve had lots of fun doing it. The problem is that I really have no good place to work with it, I’ve been standing at the kitchen counter and the stove πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Back pain as a result but it’ll pass πŸ™‚ I do have a lot more time now when I don’t have a job so I thought I would see what kind of hobby I would like besides photography.

Β  Β  Β

I doubt I’ll continue with clay though even though this was a kind that hardens without having to stand in a kiln lots of hours. I have lots more things I can do and also sit down while doing it so if You’re unlucky You might have to look at several more failures until I know if I have another hobby or being happy about having my cameras πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I think it is time to try one of those rolls, this time they at least look good, and of course that last cup of tea for the day πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

A sort of meh fog today.

Much the same weather today but the fog was sort of meh. It was too thin to really make a big difference and instead just made the world look a bit more sad πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

The hunters were supposed to be in the forest today but I don’t think anyone actually came. Anyway we walked in to the village instead and Alma behaved well enough until we had walked slightly more than half the way. That’s when a car passed around 200 meters (much the same in yards) ahead of us, I guess someone had to go to work. After that she pulled the leash a lot and whined all the way home. I really can’t understand why, she really doesn’t care about cars passing by on the gravel road here at home.

Β

This is the tree with the pastel colored leafs and it looks like an old tree with a thick trunk.
But it’s actually several trees, there are some trunks one only can see from a distance.

If it wasn’t puling the leash she has this nasty habit on walking behind me sliding towards my left side (she should walk on the right) and if she see something then she suddenly can start running forward like crazy. That is how she has ripped my right shoulder a couple of times. It hurts a lot and I had to stay at home for quite some time both times but thankfully I never needed surgery.Β  I have no problems of letting her do that if she walks in front of me because then I see what’s about to happen but she only does that when Malkolm have found something interesting to sniff on πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I’ve had rice porridge for dinner today and Malkolm and Alma both had a tiny portion as well. I don’t think it’s especially good for their stomachs since there’s so much milk in it but a tiny portion won’t do much damage to their stomachs. Sara the cat’s stomach is a bit wobbly today so she had to be without.

Β  Β  Β

I need to buy a couple of box traps to place in the cool cellar. There’s a mouse/ mice there that tends to bit of thin stalks from the plants I have there during winter and now I’m getting annoyed. it/ they never eat anything just chops them off and leaves!!! I would like to try and find weasel or ferret poop and put some around my cottage and perhaps indoors where they can come in. There’s nothing more frightening for rodents than weasels or ferrets. I have no idea where to find some, I doubt that Ferrets are sold in pet stores even though it isn’t a specially rare pet. I really don’t want a ferret myself though even it it would help keep mice away πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β

I’m not a fan of horses to be honest but I really like these two. No matter how much my dogs (Alma that is) would sound they still don’t care πŸ™‚

Then again Sara isn’t a hundred percentΒ  when it comes to the litter box, she does however always pee on paper I have on the floor, I could perhaps use that in the cellar? What do You think? I’ll try it next time I find a wet paper on the floor πŸ™‚ It is time for the last cup of tea for the day but I won’t have anything with it, the rice porridge still make me feel full πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Today I realized to my very big surprise a big bud on one of my Paphiopedilum hybrids (slipper orchids)! That almost never happens for most of us. I must have done something right for once!

-3,6C (25,52F) outside this morning according to my thermometer. A tad chilly but since we didn’t have any wind and the sun was rising it didn’t feel that bad. I had hoped that they had removed all cattle from the big field/ pasture but I could see that there was still just as many left as they had moved yesterday so we had to walk back and walk in the village instead. Unfortunately we met a huge tractor carrying all the food to the bulls and after that and of course when we passed lots of half adult cows in another field Alma behaved like crazy. She isn’t afraid, her tail shows that clearly but she gets excited and then can’t calm herself down and I can’t calm her down either.

Β  Β  Β

Besides that though we did have a nice walk but if any villager on the other side of the village saw us they must believe I hate her πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The rest of the village knows what she’s like though and most people feel sympathy for us both πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Just imagine to walk with a dog whining a screaming constantly for well over an hour on every walk and then have no way to calm her down πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Then here at home she’s absolutely amazing! She even gather the other dogs if I ask her to and then bring them to the front door. She makes sure Nova is ok all the time, plays with Albin, keeps an eye on Sara the cat and also always check on me that I’m ok but as soon as we go outside the garden with a leash on she starts whining and screaming, once she even started to howl πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I haven’t done much todayΒ , not even dinner but I have actually dome some of the laundry. I have loads left but I thought why not take a little at a time. I don’t have a big washing machine because I have no space for one, my bathroom is tiny but I do have one made for campers/ mobile homes. Works really great but it is what I would call a manual washing machine. I have to decide how warm the water is so I usually put in the same temperature as when I shower and then open the tap for cold water to rinse it all. Not especially hard but it is annoying sometimes πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β  So when I do the laundry I need to think about what I put in, one or two heavier things and the rest light things and so on πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Yesterday evening when we went to bed I could hear Sara the cat miaow loudly from downstairs. I called for her to come up but she didn’t, well You know cats πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She still wasn’t with us when I woke up and must admit that it was nice with a night of undisturbed sleep. I couldn’t find her when we came down either so I called after her and I could hear here but not figure out where she was. I became a bit worried because we had just been outside and I thought she might have escaped and now was outside in that cold temperature but I couldn’t find her there either. Turns out that I had locked her in the cool cellar all night, she must have went in when I for a second had opened the door to place a potted plant on a shelfΒ  just inside the door. So now I check the door every time we go outside she she doesn’t follow πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β

Β

It is time to have a last cup of tea for the day and I’ve bought some candied ginger, dangerously yummy that I think I’ll have some of πŸ™‚

Β

It takes a lot of energy to biting my hand all evening so a nap was needed πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

They moved the cattle.

You know that when it looks like this on the ground just after the sun has disappeared that it most likely will be misty the next morning.

Morning mist, then sunshine quickly vaporize it for thick fog to roll in and stay for quite some time just to be replaced by warmish weather and lots of sunshine. I was surprised when the thick fog came because the air had become rather warm by then. It did roll in from the bog though so I guess it must have been cold out there. I liked it though and we did have plenty of time in the garden when the sun finally won that battle.

Β  Β  Β

WE walked in the village this morning and for once Alma seemed pretty calm, yes she did whine and shout some in the beginning but then seemed to get bored doing it πŸ™‚ Then suddenly all the cattle started to bellow and really loudly plus I heard what I thought was a car honking the horn and then a few more but could not figure out what was happening. Turns out it wasn’t cars but four wheelers and they were moving the cattle from the big pasture to their winter pasture. We met them just as they were going from the big one over our gravel road to the winter one.

Β  Β  Β

I really can’t be angry that Alma started with all her sounds even louder and I can’t be angry that she had problems calming down after they had passed either but that dog can be really loud πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So I think that I from now on can have walks in the big pasture from now on. It’s actually several pastures combined to one big, so they can make it bigger or smaller depending on what they need to do. It’s hard to believe but our walks can be as long as 10 km (6,2 miles) and I still would be able to see the village the entire time, well the few homes there is here anyway.

Β  Β  Β

If I can figure out if they moved the entire heard we might have a walk there already tomorrow, would be great because then we wouldn’t have to pass all the dogs being outside barking when we pass them and then Alma would be much calmer, at least as long no lorries pass on the big road beside the pasture. Big road is a bit much to call it but they do drive lorries there quite often. The drivers use it as a short cut to towns and cities further south and I can tell You that it isn’t fun to meet a timber lorry in high speed on that winding road because they almost always use a big part of the meeting lane as well when the road turns.

Β  Β  Β

Two dogs are sleeping in my bedroom, one in the basket, I can’t see who because it’s dark in there now but my guess is that it is Alma and Malkolm is in the bed, probably with Sara the cat. Alma isn’t too happy about the cat since she keeps her awake most f the night πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Malkolm just ignores here and then the cat walks over to Nova to sleep beside her for the rest of the night πŸ™‚ Nova is too old to be bothered by anything now days πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I think it is time for a last cup of tea for the day. I bought a jar of pickled cucumbers yesterday and I do like that but I’m not hungry but still want some cucumber so I think I’ll have a hard bread sandwich so I don’t eat it straight out of the jar πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

Β  Β  Β

Sunny and nice.

That cold we’re having going around here never want to leave. I’ve talked to those getting hit by it before me and just like me they still have it! No fever what I know but runny noses and coughing. So I’m pretty sure this must be covid, I’ve never heard of a cold staying for this long. It’s annoying but it doesn’t seem to want to kill us anyway πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β Β

The odd thing is that at least I don’t cough at nights, only in the early mornings and in the afternoons. Well I’ve had worse things so it’s just annoying to be honest.Β  We’ve had rather nice weather here for two days, lots of sunshine and rain only last night. We had a walk in the village yesterday just after noon. Alma had one of her impossible days, that dog wasn’t quiet for a second and she became even worse when first the mailman drove by and even more so when we met some villagers out walking as well πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

This mornings walk was better thankfully. At least she didn’t pull the leash that much. Both yesterday and today we passed dogs in dog yards, a under stimulated labrador in his garden. Nothing wrong with him really but to be honest I’ve never seen them taking him out for a walk and another little yapping dog in his garden but not close to the gravel road so none of the dogs cared about him at all πŸ™‚ She didn’t care about all the bulls we passed though which I’m happy about because I really don’t want her to anger them up πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Malkolm and Sara have played all day, even upstairs and it did sound as if they tore down everything up here πŸ™‚ After that Sara went to Nova for a nap πŸ™‚ Alma is still a bit unsure about what she can do since the day I had to rip her out from the couch when she twice sat down on Sara and not moving when the cat screamed for her life πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Alma does after all weigh 35 kg (77 pound) and Sara 0,5kg (around a pound). So if the cat is with me and Alma in the sofa I quite often lift over Sara to Alma so that she knows she’s allowed close to the cat, as long as she doesn’t sit on her πŸ™‚

Β

It is the upper part of my little cottage You can see here πŸ™‚

Again it is time for a last cup of tea for the day and perhaps a banana as well.

Have a great day!

I did it again :-)

So I did the same mistake yesterday as I did the last weekend, slept too much πŸ™‚ This time I wasn’t supposed to have any nap but I was sitting in the recliner watching something on tv when Malkolm crawled up on my lap. He is rather big now and quite heavy so I leaned the back some so he could fit. It was quite nice and cosy and then I fell asleep πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β  I don’t know for how long but I was even more tired when I woke up than before he climbed up πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

The thing was that we were supposed to have quite a dreary weather so I had planned to do all those indoor things one doesn’t want to do when the weather is nice. We had a really nice weather after 10 am but I was sort of locked in by myself for doing those things anyway. So I had finished what I was supposed to do and was just having some tea and a break before we could go out on a walk again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

It wasn’t supposed to be especially nice today either so we’ve had a wonderful weather. The morning was once again quite chilly but with sunshine and no wind. We walked in to the village because I knew hunters would be out in the forest today, preparing for the start of the moose hunt the eighth. No morning mist when we went out but a sort of a haze. Last time we were out on a walk both Alma and Malkolm behaved poorly to be honest. so it was a really nice surprise that they behaved quite the opposite today. Well there was this cat passing in front of us that made them go insane for a few minutes but besides that they were really good πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Alma wasn’t even upset when we walked beside the bulls in the big pasture. She accepts the cows and the bull in the pastures around us but never liked any other cattle. I don’t know why but she didn’t care at all about the bulls, to be honest I’m not that fond of them. OK they are usually really kind and friendly but they are huge and always look like it’s just seconds before they’ll attack πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β

Every now and again we have some black bulls in the pasture and I always name the biggest one “El Diabolo” πŸ™‚

It is time for a last cup of tea for the day and for once there’s actually something worth watching on tv. I’ll probably fall asleep anyway but I will try and see an entire program for once πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β

Sara taking a break from chasing Malkolms tail πŸ™‚ She climbs up my trousers to have a small nap between my thigh and the recliner πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Must be the warmest September in ages and I like it :-)

Almost frost again this morning, lots of morning mist, no wind and a rising sun. Mornings really can’t be much better. The mornings this week have felt like early summer, despite the yellow and red leafs. Lots of different bees on what still is in bloom as well. Very few wasps though, to be honest I haven’t seen especially many of them this summer, loads of different kind of bees but very few wasps.

Β  Β  Β

I’ve tried to have naps many times today but every time someone or something has interrupted it. I’ll have to take a few more tomorrow instead πŸ™‚ Alma is slightly better in her stomach so I hope we all can have a long nights sleep tonight. The problem is that she doesn’t wake me up, she just walks to the stairs and down to the door, I’ve been sleeping very light lately because of that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I realized that I wouldn’t have enough fish for her so I had planned to go to the supermarket tomorrow but thankfully my neighbor called, she was on her way to go home after work and asked if I needed something πŸ™‚ so no supermarket tomorrow πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

besides that I have to say that today has been a really nice day and if it hadn’t been for Malkolm constantly jumping over the fence and continue to the little lake behind the dog yard so that I have had to have the kitchen door closed most parts of the day. He isn’t that old yet and soon the moose hunt starts and that’s not a time to be running around in the forest. So if he’s out in the garden I must be there too. A fun thing is that if he’s gone I just tell Alma to fetch him and she does πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It takes a while but he does follow her home.

Β  Β  Β

It’s time to brush my teeth and then go to bed, I do hope all stomachs are calm, otherwise I’ll be even more tired tomorrow πŸ™‚ Very little sunshine tomorrow they’re guessing but still temperatures above 20C (68F). This must be one of the warmest Septembers in ages and I’ve enjoyed every warm day we’ve had πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

Β  Β  Β

Coughing and sneezing.

So it isn’t the three or four day cold I’m having, it’s the sneezing coughing all night cold I have πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ No fever though so I guess I’ll survive it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I’m so glad I turned on the radiator in the kitchen last night. The heat goes straight up to the upper floor and in to my bedroom. I do like a cool bedroom but ice cold is a bit too much for me πŸ™‚ It took a while though but until it became warmer I had Alma as a living radiator sleeping beside me, she kept on sleeping all nigh at the same spot so I must admit that even though I was grateful for the help when it was cold it did become a bit too warm in the end πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

The outside thermometer said 1C (33,8F) as coldest and I think it must have been right because the vegetation weren’t covered in ice but the cars had more ice on them than yesterday morning. We also had lots of morning mist so we had our walk in the village. We met a villager, a woman who always are out running. At first I thought she just was one of those people who are obcessed with running because one can see her far from the village at any time of the 24 hours a day contains.

Β  Β  Β

Anyhow, turns out that she is competing in long distance team running πŸ™‚ I had heard she was attacked by a dog, a well know aggressiveΒ  dog, that the owners had in the garden that simply jumped over the fence and attacked her. So since Alma and Malkolm jump over jump over the fence too play with my neighbors kids I stopped her (since we were just beside her home) and asked her if she wanted to greet my dogs so she knows what she meets. So she said that Alma had met her several times so she wasn’t worried about her but she wasn’t sure about Nova and Malkolm πŸ™‚ Malkolm was so polite that he didn’t even try to reach her head when they greeted and I said Nova is 18 and You’ve met her several times so she’s so well behaved that she never is noticed when she’s around πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I think it is time to have some tea and a table spoon with honey. Never heat up honey because the good enzymes and bacteria in it dies when it is too hot, lukewarm is enough. If You kill them the honey will only become very expensive sugar. So I usually have a spoon of honey either before or after having the tea.

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

Β  Β

I doubt that this Red Mulberry will ripen even though I plan to bring this little tree down to the cool cellar. I don’t want to bring in the little tree until it lost its leafs.

Another warm and sticky day, the morning was nice though and as long as we were out on our morning walk the sun shone and it was just enough warm. It was cloudy for a while after that so it continued to stay nice but as soon as the sun showed itself it went down hill πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Then again that made the laundry dry up fast so I won’t complain too much πŸ™‚ I’ve forgotten to make dinner for work next week but I did make pancakes for me and the dogs, I’ll eat oatmeal porridge at work tomorrow instead πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

The heat made me tired so we’ve actually had two long naps today, the first one in my recliner and that really is a great place to nap, the second one in my bed and I was joined by Alma and Malkolm I had started a timer so I wouldn’t sleep for too long but it felt nice to be in bed awake so we stayed there for quite some time πŸ™‚ Normally I just get up and start doing what I am supposed to do so this was a nice change, that of course made me not doing what I had planned to do and therefore no dinner for work πŸ™‚ but it is worth it πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

It will stay warm tomorrow until the evening when a cold front will fly in from west bringing cooler weather and lots of rain. I won’t mind the rain since it is quite dry in my garden. I really don’t want any cold weather for quite some time, or not at all but that won’t happen πŸ™‚ The weather pattern has changed quite a lot though, winter used to start in late October and then, if it was really bad, continue in to May, I don’t miss that at all. Now winter comes as earliest in late February, stays a short while and then hopefully spring starts, this year we had summer in May instead, sort of normal rainy summer until August and now summer again in September πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

It is time for a couple of sandwiches and a cup of tea I think and then most likely dozing off in front of the tv πŸ™‚

Β  Β

Have a great day!

We started our morning walk before the sun slowly started to rise up in the sky, around 15C (59F) and it felt like an early summer morning, even some birds sang. I wasn’t sure if there were hunters out in the forest because some of them were here yesterday evening. I wasn’t sure if it was to prepare for today or staying the night to hunt wild hogs and to be honest I was too lazy to check if the sign was up that they put up every time they’re out there, so we had a walk in the village instead. That also guarantees that we wont have to be creeped out by moose flies that has started flying around. I truly hate those flies!

Β  Β  Β

I had hoped for some morning mist and even though I actually saw some it was in a sort of sad way, barely visible and only just above the ground in two places πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ OK one hovered over the old iron age graves and one was hovering over the old stone age tomb but that one was even harder to see. Nova, as always held her own pace, either far behind or far ahead πŸ™‚ It is like she’s a bit ashamed to walk with us and rather not be seen with the rest of us πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

This is a sorry excuse for a morning mist πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
This one is even harder to see πŸ™‚
Cranes moving south.

Since then the temperature has risen a lot, still nice outside because of a breeze but it is getting warmer and warmer now. So both the doors downstairs are closed and all drapes are covering the windows and doors to keep the heat outside but both windows upstairs are open because the breeze blows through the entire upstairs. It’s like a cool wind with a warm touch flows around us all.

Β  Β  Β

I made a pie and used the apples from my seed sown apple tree and they really work good for pies. I had some vanilla ice cream to it so I must say that they day became a bit better while eating it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Not that the day has been bad in any way but pie always make even a good day better πŸ™‚ Otherwise I’ve done very little besides watering those plants that need watering and I might do that again later today when the sun can’t reach the garden.

Β  Β  Β

It is time to have something to eat and I still have some chicken and potato salad left from yesterday so I’ll share that with the dogs. After that I think I’ll have a short nap before it is time to give the dogs their dinner. Nova also wants to thank for the birthday wishes πŸ™‚

Cikory.
Foxglove.
Morning glory.
This dahlia doesn’t look like any of the varieties I bought this spring but that’s what I like πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

We aren’t allowed to have perennial Lupines in our gardens any more but these annuals aren’t bad to be honest.

The Hardy Kiwi has decided to start to flower, only it should have done that in spring.
I haven’t seen any butterflies close to the Butterfly bush yet πŸ™‚ I do hope they’ll come before the frost takes them.

August was a shitty month but today it’s September.

Yesterday morning. Today there will be a mix of photos from today and yesterday.

I’m sorry about not writing anything these last days but I’ve been a bit under the weather so to speak. No not in pain the medication really did its job but they also gave me a slight fever and a very wobbly stomach. I’ve been so tired that beside walks with my dogs I’v mostly been either napping or watching tv. So since I can’t have this anti inflammatory medicine I’m not sure there is any left that I can use, August has really been a shitty month this year πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Today however is September and it started sunny with only 2C (35,6F) outside. I must admit that I loved it when we were out walking in the village. It was a bit tricky to figure out what clothes one should wear since it would be really cold in the shadows but as soon as the sun hit it would start to boil inside. Very little shadow when walking there so I just wore a hoodie and normal trousers. I’m glad that I decided to close all windows yesterday because that night it was just slightly warmer and I woke up freezing in the middle of night. I really didn’t want to get up to close all windows so instead I called for the dogs so they could warm me up πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

They’re guessing that it’ll be really warm the coming week and so high temperatures at night that the risk of frost will be zero percent. Some places in this area did have frost during the night but for once it didn’t happen here, I sure hope it takes a long while because only two of my tomatoes are half ripe, the rest are still green. I also hope that I get them before the dogs do because I already had two ripe tomatoes but one morning when I went out to get them most of them were eaten by the dogs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I’ve also started to cut down my Aronia bush, I really can’t stand the berries (the dogs and birds love them though) because too many berries and a couple of winters with lots of snow have bent down the branches so much that they were laying on the ground. It was a bit tricky to remove each branch because they were all entwined with each other. I still have some to cut off but there’s no hurry to do that. It will grow up again so already next summer it will become a new little bush. However I was thinking of planting one of my Red mulberry trees there, if it grows fast enough it will soon be higher than the Aronia and I hope they’ll co exists well together.

At least two different varieties of apples hanging on this apple tree.

It is time to make some dinner, I haven’t had that much of an appetite lately πŸ™‚ but I think I can have some pancakes, if not I can have them as dinner at work tomorrow. Just bring some jam and since they are just as tasty cold as warm it’ll be fine πŸ™‚

The biggest of my five seed sown Giant Sequoias, they’ll spend the winter in the cool cellar.
I do hope the flowers open up on this Butterfly bush before the frost comes, won’t be many butterflies around though.
The white flowers on the Woodland tobacco really shines when it’s getting dark around it and the smell is amazing.
My Christmas cactus loves staying outdoors all summer.

Have a great day!
