Windy.

More or less s storm outside and it will be worse during the night so we haven’t had any walk today, too dangerous to walk amongst trees in these winds. The steady wind isn’t that bad but the gusts are, we’ve spent a lot of time in the garden instead, not the same but better than nothing.

Alma is close to ending being in heat and Malcolm’s injection is close to sick in to a 100% so tonight Malkolm and I won’t be leashed together so all of You cross Your fingers and hold Your thumbs for good luck and that my guess is right 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’ll also go the the grocery store for the first time in a long time tomorrow and I’ll bring the dogs, Alma in the back seat so she has plenty of space to be tangled into the safety belts 🙂 🙂 🙂 and Malkolm beside me in the passenger seat. The winds will still be strong so it’ll be fun to drive to the top of the mountain with no shelter from the forest 🙂 No risk of tipping over in the gusts but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a bumpy ride 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is soon time to bring out the monster kitten to the garden, I’ll need to make some kind of harness because I don’t want her to walk away by her own already now. She’s too small to meet any of the bigger cats in the area on her own yet. It is so much easier in summer when the doors are open all day and she can walk in and out as she pleases and most likely won’t walk away too far, I can say that all she wants right now is to wander the world by her self and she’s really not prepared for that.

It is time for that last cup of tea and then watch some tv.

Have a great day!

Feeling better and spring’s approaching :-)

We’ve had a couple of wonderful spring days here. Chilly nights perhaps but sunny and warm days. The birds are singing spring songs and I hear the drum rolls from woodpeckers all over the forest. Earlier in February I also heard the owls when it went dark and I do like that sound. Haven’t heard the foxes or the Lynx so far though.

The cold is slowly going away, it shows no hurry to do so though but it is easier to breathe now when the pain is almost gone but a too deep breath only starts the coughing again 🙂 🙂 🙂 It doesn’t feel like I’ve run a half marathon when we come back home after our walks either thankfully. By the way the photos You’ll see today can be from three days, two days ago or from today.

The monster-kitten is back to her evil ways, every day she attacks the dogs 🙂 🙂 Alma has finally started to react to it so the little monster has realised she’s best to use when napping and not playing 🙂 Malkolm still accepts that she chews on him but then again he’s just a year old yet so that might change. His shot has finally started to kick in while Alma slowly is going out of heat. Every now and again though they show that I still can’t trust them being alone for any longer period of time 🙂 🙂 🙂 I must say that being leashed to him during nights is working without any problems at all, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have said that if it was Alma who had to be leashed to me, she would have been dragging me on the floors all over the cottage 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I’ll have nothing to eat though, a good thing with this cold is that I haven’t been hungry at all, normally no sickness of any kind has dampened my appetite but this one has 🙂 I’ve been under surgery lots of time and every time I have woken up I’ve asked when I can have something to eat 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

A wonderful spring day :-)

I’m glad I didn’t have to go anywhere this morning 🙂

So the cold is slowly getting better and this morning the sun shone, which it wasn’t supposed to do and there as frost on the vegetation so we had a short walk in almost perfect weather.  It was so nice to finally be breathing fresh air again 🙂 Alma almost behaved so that helped a lot 🙂 The coughing has started to annoy me a bit but it is at least only while I’m awake and not while I’m sleeping. The sleeping leashed to Malkolm works much better than I thought it would, when he does try to walk away towards Alma I notice it immediately, pulls him back and he just goes back to where he’s supposed to stay.

Even though the walk was really nice it still felt like I had run a marathon when we came back home 🙂 🙂 So I had a nap as soon as I sat down but can’t say I feel anything from that now, I’m just as tired as if I hadn’t napped 🙂 🙂 We’ve also been outside in the garden a lot, I continued the cleaning after the dogs at the same time I kept an eye on the dogs 🙂 The Himalayan Cedar looks really good and so do the two small stems on the English walnut tree.

The hardy Rosemary has some frozen leafs but looks fine otherwise. Some frost damage on the red mulberry tree but that one is still much better than the black mulberry and the white mulberry. The pawpaws look amazingly well since they are the least hardy trees I have, much better than the Persimmon tree. I think that if we don’t get any more cold cold periods that all still has survived this winter. I won’t buy anything more when it comes to trees because now I must think where to plant all the seedlings I have in the cellar 🙂 🙂

I have at least six small pear trees, five or six apricots, two red mulberry trees and one peach. I really don’t have that space but since when has that stopped a gardener 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hard to see but the Himalayan Cedar looks really well, conifers this small usually show pretty early if they are dying.
Hardy Rosemary, it’s an variety from the US and seen as the hardiest Rosemary there is.
Snowdrops.
An iceberg in the water barrel 🙂

Have a great day!

It isn’t easy for them but they still manages to play even though they both most likely wants to do something else 🙂 🙂 🙂

Warmer winds.

So today was the last day with cold weather and sunshine for quite some time it seems, I’ll miss the sunshine but not the temperatures 🙂 The low pressure is arriving with a roaring wind now and it might even be as warm as 10C (50F) already on Saturday.

This morning however was still pretty cold and the sun shone as well. Thankfully once again totally wind free (it arrived later in the day) so it was quite nice being outside walking. Alma behaved reasonable well but Malkolm pulled the leash instead. He’s not that big and strong though so that isn’t so bad to be honest but if Alma isn’t allowed to do it neither is he. I must start thinking about the possibility that the tutor on my kidney has grown and that I’ll get treatment during the summer so having dogs pulling the leash when I most likely won’t be especially strong is a bad idea. However we aren’t there yet so perhaps I can make them both calm down by then.

I’m so lucky that my neighbour works in a supermarket now when Alma is in heat and the shot Malkolm had doesn’t work properly yet because I realised that the cat litter wouldn’t last for long so she brought home a bag for me plus I suddenly had a craving for some soda, I normally don’t drink soda unless I have a head ache so it will be something with caffein in it. Today I wanted something else, so now I have pear soda at home. I didn’t think they still made that so when she said they sold it I really wanted it 🙂 🙂 🙂 I remember when being at my mormors’ (grandmother on my mothers side) I was always allowed to go downstairs to get a soda and I usually chased between raspberry soda or pear soda 🙂 I was also always allowed to take an ice cream if I wanted to 🙂

The monster kitten was allowed to be without the cone of shame for a couple of hours today and she really enjoyed it. Tomorrow it’ll be eight days after surgery so I’ll allow her to be without it even longer and on Saturday she will not have it any more. It should be totally healed already now I think but it might still be a bit fragile I guess so better be safe than sorry. The scar doesn’t seem to bother her at all though   but to be honest neither does the cone 🙂 The only thing is that the the place where the cone is tied together seems to be itching, as soon as it goes off the itching stops.

Today I won’t have that last cup of tea for the day, instead I’ll have some pear soda 🙂

Have a great day!

A tad chilly :-)

For being me I woke up quite late this morning, I can’t say that it was anything but dark outside but I could see that it slowly was going towards brighter where the sun would rise. I took a look at the thermometer and then I took a new look at it, -18C (-0,4F).  It was cold outside but it didn’t feel that cold because of low humidity and no wind. I took a look at the stars and Betelgeuse is still shining bright orange up there. It is 645,2 lightyears away so even if it had gone supernova 500 years ago we still wouldn’t know about it 🙂

The bitter cold weather we’ve had for a few days now will soon leave us. On Tuesday the day suddenly will have above 0C (32F) temperatures but nights will still be pretty chilly. Well I’m not out and about at nights so I don’t mind that but it feels nice that day temperatures will be more pleasant again. I think it was still -15C (5F) when we went out on our morning walk but the sun gave away quite a lot of heat so I enjoyed it quite a lot. Thankfully neither Alma nor Malkolm have sensitive paws. We weren’t supposed to have any snow the other day so of course it snowed 🙂 🙂 🙂 we didn’t get much though but I still don’t like it but it does make things look more beautiful to be honest.

Sara the monster kitten seems to feel much better now, she even tried to jump up on the aquarium this morning 🙂 it didn’t work of course and I think I like that cone 🙂 🙂 As soon as we get more stable warm weather I’ll bring her out so that she can start inspecting her domains. Since I think her mother was/ is one of the farm cats up the road I do hope they won’t be too hard on her, my neighbours cats might be something else though, they have reigned in my garden for a couple of years now and might not want to resign.

Nothing much else has happened here like it should be. Tomorrow I’ll go to the grocery store in Gudhem to buy a few things I don’t have at home. I’ll bring the dogs. Alma will have the back seat all for herself and Malkolm in the passenger seat beside me. That would make it very hard for them to reach each other just in case, I really don’t want puppies no matter how cute they are 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea and after that it would have been nice to just go to bed but that would most likely just mean I’ll wake up a couple of hours earlier instead 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

The vet visit.

The photos will be a mix taken these last days.

I had set the alarm today because we were going to the vet this morning. Malkolm would get the chemical neutering and Sara the real surgery. We were all up long before the alarm started so we even could go back to bed and just wait for it to start :-)Well I couldn’t leave Alma at home because I like try little cottage and the little I have here in my home. I couldn’t leave her in the dog yard because this is not the time to renovate it, too cold to even try to dig down net in the ground 🙂 🙂 🙂 So she came along as well.

Alma hates car rides but jumped in to the car, Malkolm loves car rides but refused to put his paws in the car at all 🙂 So it was a bit tricky to even lave the village 🙂 🙂 I didn’t have to scrape any ice from the car even though it was well below freezing point so I took that as a good omen 🙂 The ride to the vet was unusually calm, Alma only whined a little and managed to tie her and Malkolm together with the seat belts. She calmed down even more when she could put her nose outside the car on both sides, the inside of the car went a bit chilly but it was worth it 🙂 🙂

We could course not bring Alma when it was time to insert the chemical neutering in Malkolm so she had to stay in the office. The vet said this will hurt and he must be absolutely still so he called the ones working there. The syringe was pretty big so I held  Malkolm firmly and so did two employees as well. That when we all heard Alma shouting her lungs out so I said For heavens sake You didn’t leave her alone there because nothing will remain 🙂 🙂 🙂  but there was one person still there to keep her as calm as she could 🙂 🙂 🙂 Turns out Malkolm didn’t feel a thing and was so happy when three people hugged him so much 🙂 🙂 🙂

I had to go back and pick up Sara before lunch and she was not a happy camper but I doubt that she actually managed to notice that we were going back home again. They checked her ears and it turns out she had ear mange so we went to the pharmacy on our way home. Almost the first thing she did was to tear off the cone of shame but I managed to make it a bit more tight but still let hear breathe so I hope it stays on at least during the night, she’s supposed to have it for ten days but that’ll never happen 🙂 🙂 🙂 The toughest job will be to keep the dogs away so they don’t clean the area where the surgery took place. I won’t argue with her if the cone at least stays for four days 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and hope there will be something interesting on tv. I doubt that though 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

I only had to call twice to make it work :-)

Must have been a full moon last night.

We had sunshine for quite some time yesterday and even sunshine for hours today, It was around noon when the clouds managed to cover the sun fully. Also in the morning there was a thin cloud layer but the sun managed to shine through it.  From now on days will stay just below 0C (32F) but nights will get pretty cold, we might even have the chance to see more of the sun if we’re lucky.

The beekeeper still have his bees here, I don’t think he will be in a hurry to get them since the price for the property is insanely overpriced.

So yesterday I got the new 5G router sent to me. I know I always get frustrated when changing system and nothing ever goes like one wants so I just left the package on the counter until this morning. It is never a good sign when they write must read the instructions before trying to connect. So the first thing I did after our morning walk was to pick out all the things in the packages and to read the instructions. To be honest there wasn’t that much to read more than put up antenna first of all because the system is designed that way.

Ok and of course it said the antenna works much better if it is outdoors. Well they really don’t care if the cables are long enough to put the antenna (a square little thing) at its best location, towards the south east. Well I was lucky there because I could put it on one side of the cottage that is placed south to south east or round the corner with is south east to east. The first wall would have been so much better because then I could just use a ladder to reach the highest point (just three meters above the ground. However the antenna cable wasn’t long enough for that.

The old hunters lodge.

Instead I had to lean out from the window upstairs and put it under my window. Leaning out like that while trying to fasten the holder with four small screws isn’t nice and when I was going to put the antenna in the holder it turns out I’ve placed the holder way too close to the windowsill, if I ever have to remove it I’ll have to break either the windowsill or the antenna 🙂 🙂 🙂 The antenna needs electricity so I plugged it in, placed the router on the desk (apparently I should have screwed it to a wall or something but I thought it would be better to have it on the desk.

Well, turns out that there is a cable that needs to be attached from the antenna to the router so at the moment everything is placed just inside the window and I’m pretty sure the monster kitten will do her best to tear it all away during the night 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m also pretty sure that if I screw it to the wall beside the window she’ll try even harder to rip it off plus then she’ll have lots of cable she can chew on as well 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m mostly proud of that I only had to call my phone company twice to get it to work 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is time to get that last cup of tea for the day, I’ll have nothing to eat though because we had pancakes today and even though we ate those pretty early in the day I still feel full.

Have a great day!

We even had sunshine today :-)

Not an eating day in any way but suddenly the sun started to shine!! It wasn’t supposed to show itself until it was about to set but it arrived pretty early instead. We are supposed to have sunshine all day tomorrow but I’ll believe it if it happens 🙂

Nothing much new about the shooting yesterday, at least 11 dead but some are so badly injured that it might end with more dead. The suspect shooter is said to be a 35 year old man born in Sweden and so are his parents, so at least the far right can’t attack immigrants. He’s a loner and it is said by a relative to him, which we can’t trust since he said it anonymously, he was supposed to have problems with his mental health. The suspect did kill himself.

They haven’t even identified all the dead yet, which is a bit odd but that can indicate that they mostly were immigrants. Normally I doubt it would take especially long for us who has grown up here to be identified since even our phones would help to do that, I think we might be one of the most digitalised people in the world, most of us don’t even use money now, I don’t and haven’t since many years ago, but just one look in my wallet or phone they would identify me in seconds 🙂

I’ve never seen a Beard lichen this big down here in southern Sweden, they grow slow so it must be really old.

Birds or mice have found their way in to the squash and eaten almost all seeds.

Well here in the village at the outskirts of the world it’s calm and quiet as usual. My neighbour were outside when the sun arrived so we had a little chat and the dogs jumped over the fence and played with the children. After that I made some rose-hip soup and now I’ll have a sandwich or two with cheese. No tea today, I had a cup way to late yesterday so I had to go up in the middle of the night to visit the bathroom 🙂

Have a great day!

So this is the pasture the wild hogs now walk around in at night.

We did see the sun shine for a few minutes just as it was setting, otherwise the day has been rather depressing 🙂 A meh fog in the morning, later on just grey and dull.

Today I’ve been a bit busy though. First I ordered and downloaded an antivirus program, the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I paid the bill, pressed the link and voila finished 🙂 🙂 The Macworld said it was the best and it wasn’t especially expensive either, I also got a discount for being a new customer and that didn’t hurt 🙂 If all things computer was that easy! I never remember my passwords to anything so I rarely log out from anything but I need to get a new password now when I change computer, since I don’t remember them 🙂 So I tried Facebook. I could just as well hit myself in the head with a hammer! I thought I would get a link via my mail but no not any more. I tried to change it several times but no such luck I’m afraid, now I have no idea if the old one still is there so I can come in to Fb on my old computer 🙂 🙂 🙂

The last snow for this time 🙂

When the first wave of hate towards Fb had calmed down I finally found the old way but it sure wasn’t easy to find it 🙂 What angered me the most was when I tried to change the password their new way it didn’t work so a new page turned up so that I could change the password, the only problem was that I had to log in to be able to do it 🙂 🙂 🙂 Then I needed to do the same for my blog and it took four seconds to let me in again 🙂 🙂 🙂 To be honest I’m not sure I want to stay on Fb anyway but I want to have a chance to say bye if I do decide to log out totally. Now all I need to do is to slowly but steadily add my favourites so things can go back to normal again.

But I have done other things as well, like baking bread, well very flat French rolls 🙂 🙂 🙂 and to dinner I made a shrimp and vegetable pie, not bad at all 🙂 I had a bit too much though so now I’m burping shrimps and Broccoli 🙂 🙂 I think it is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I had too much too late yesterday so I’ll have this cup early so I don’t have to get up in the middle of night again 🙂 The hunters will be here tomorrow morning again, they have noticed that the wild hogs now walk around in the pasture just outside my gate. Wild hogs are good for nature but not gardens 🙂

My hardy Rosemary, survived -18 C (-0,4 F) beside it some Oregano but they survive everything 🙂
The Himalayan Cypress also looks good but the most dangerous time for plants here is when spring starts and those late frosts suddenly kill them.

Have a great day!

So I picked up the new antenna cable yesterday and after connecting it to the antenna and tv I had better picture than before. I hadn’t seen Malkolm chew on it but since he quickly ran away when I saw what had been done it wasn’t that hard to understand 🙂 So this morning when we were supposed to go out on our morning walk I was putting on my shoes when I looks at him happily chewing on the new cable!!!

Two Ravens playing in the strong winds we had yesterday.

I have never really had the need to scold him for doing something he isn’t supposed to do here in the cottage, he has never really done anything wrong or dangerous but chewing on cables, even if the antenna cable is sort of harmless next time it could be an electric cable I really had to do something drastic. I have big lungs so I screamed at him at the same time i picked him up so I could look directly in to his eyes. I feel so sorry for him but that scared the s.t out of him, well pee actually. He is still a bit skittish when he must pass that place. I really hope this helped because I never want to scare him like that again 🙂 🙂

Yesterday morning was quite nice, it had been cold during the night with a clear sky and the sky stayed mostly clear all through the walk. There was a thin cloud layer that the sun had to shine through but that didn’t do much to stop the sunlight, Today it was warm all through the night and has stayed that way but the clouds were pretty thick. I can’t really complain about it since it is warm but it would have been nice to see the sunlight again. It’ll be like this for at least ten days, or so they guess at least. Then again I still get daylight and I haven’t had this much daylight at this time of year so that’s a good thing.

It’s time for that last cup of tea for the day, I’ve just had dinner so I won’t have anything else today, I have no bananas so I’ll buy more tomorrow 🙂 The roads will be good though, almost no ice left either now, just in a few places where the sun never reach this time of year.

Have a great day!

The night crew were still working when we woke up in the morning 🙂

A warm day, well a warm winter day and most of the snow is almost gone now. I found some in the forest and places where the sun can’t reach yet but mostly what’s left is ice. We had a meh fog all morning, wasn’t useful for anything to be honest and to be even more honest that fog was mostly misty rain so small water droplets covered the glasses after a short while.

We walked out to the bog and today I praised both Alma and Malkolm so many times and giving them treats that I think giving them dinner later in the day was just like over feeding them both 🙂 🙂 🙂 I doubt this behaviour won’t last for long but I’m happy for the days I get 🙂 🙂

I have finally figured out how to reduce the size on my photos in the new computer, only took around half an hour and only twenty more to figure out how to save the changes as well, one can say what one wants about PC programs but they are actually quite obvious when it comes to those things. When I do resize the photo I can see how many KB or MB they have become after the change but if I go in to check it in the album the size is right but it still says the original MB the photo was?? Well I’ll figure it out in time 🙂 :-)It is fun to figure it out but it is mostly so annoying 🙂 🙂

Besides that I’ve had a nice calm day. My neighbors car didn’t pass the annual vehicle inspection  so I picked up her in a village called Floby some distance away so she could come home again, there aren’t any communication that comes even close to here unless one wants to have a day trip looking at the environment 🙂 🙂 Wouldn’t have worked today though because it went almost dark before we arrived to the village 🙂 🙂 I love living here but when our cars misbehave it can be a bit of a struggle to be honest.

My antenna cable has arrived at the grocery store in Gudhem today, so I’ll go there to pick it up tomorrow morning. I’ll check if I need anything since I’m there, otherwise I had planned to go on either Sunday morning or Monday. I normally just shave off the hair on my head three times a year and since it is as warm as it is and it’ll stay like this, they’re guessing, for a week I did it yesterday. Now I don’t need to think of doing that for three to four months 🙂 I started to do that when I powder painted at my old job, as soon as the hair becomes longer tan two to three centimeters (slightly less or slightly more than inch)the powder sort of became like concrete and wouldn’t move no matter how thorough one wash the hair. Having that paint there gave all kinds of problems and dandruff is the least of them 🙂 🙂

It is time to have that last cup of tea for the day, I’m not really hungry but sort of wants something, I think I’ll have a banana 🙂

Have a great day!

I put up the wildlife camera for two weeks when we had the snowstorm and the only thing the camera got was this hare, it had found the deer food I had tossed out 🙂

Sometimes I wonder about Internet companies.

I now have a new tea cup or perhaps I should call it tea mug. They had two different colors on this specific mug, one leaning towards blue and one towards grey. I have a really good sense of color, I have after all been working with colors for well over 25 years and I could for my life not see any difference at all 🙂 🙂 🙂  I’ll see if I can find the receipt because for some reason the blue costed less 🙂 🙂 I do like it what ever color it has though 🙂

It’s easier to walk on the roads now 🙂

It has been rather warm today so the snow has melted away pretty much now and I doubt we’ll have much left tomorrow except for in the forest where there’s lots left. I have one pair of winter shoes that doesn’t let any water in if walking in puddles or like here where all roads now are covered in water but they are dangerous to walk where it is slippery, even though it said they were slip safe 🙂 🙂 I also have the dubbed shoes which are perfect to walk on ice but they tend to let water in, so I used those and we had our walk in the forest instead than to the creek, despite all snow which makes it hard to walk. Alma sort of behaved well today again so lots of treats to her and Malkolm of course whos only problem is that when he follows a track he doesn’t stop. He is fairly low and rather strong so if he turns in between trees somewhere I tend to follow if I’m not prepared 🙂

It went much smoother to install the computer than I thought it would so when we had come home after our walk I just had one thing to do, install the anti virus program. I gave up after an hour and unsubscribe to it 🙂 🙂 🙂 I can have up to six computers on the same subscription but there are no links to download it!!! I called my phone/ internet company but they couldn’t find any link either, the only thing they did was to send me a link, via text message that told me I just had to follow the link they had put in a mail to me, the problem is that only a new subscriber get that mail!!!! So I wonder why they can’t send me that mail? So when they asked for a review about how I think they handled the problem I answered, well lets say I don’t think they’ll ask me again to be a subscriber 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I have till the end of this month left of the old subscription and it’s on this old computer. I have found the best for Mac’s (according to Mac’s own paper/club? So I’ll check it out, it is also much cheaper than the one I have now 🙂

I also became pretty annoyed on Malkolm this morning. I still have an ordinary tv-antenna here and when I sat down to watch the morning news, someone had chewed off the cable not in one place but in two!!! For some reason Malkolm rushed upstairs as soon as I picked the pieces up from the floor 🙂 🙂 🙂 He has never done anything like this before so I was quite surprised.  No bigger problem I though I’ll just watch tv on the computer. Well now, turns out there isn’t any speaker in the Mac 🙂 🙂 🙂 so now I’ve ordered a new antenna cable because that was much cheaper to buy than any speakers 🙂 🙂 🙂 It’ll be here in a few days. Good thing I have a very weak one in the old computer 🙂 but that’s also the only luxury there is, no microphone and no camera but I do have a weak speaker 🙂 🙂 🙂

The swamp behind my garage is now the lake again 🙂 🙂 🙂

I don’t watch much on tv, I look at any history-, Science-, biathlon-and garden program and those are rare so I really don’t miss much until that cable arrives 🙂 I’ve already had that last cup of tea for the day so now I don’t know what to do 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!
